scarcity: the devil’s game

The Haitians have hydrocarbons:

Behind the smoke, rubble and unending drama of human tragedy in the hapless Caribbean country, a drama is in full play for control of what geophysicists believe may be one of the world’s richest zones for hydrocarbons-oil and gas outside the Middle East, possibly orders of magnitude greater than that of nearby Venezuela.

And the Palestinians have hydrocarbons:

The military invasion of the Gaza Strip by Israeli Forces bears a direct relation to the control and ownership of strategic offshore gas reserves. This is a war of conquest. Discovered in 2000, there are extensive gas reserves off the Gaza coastline.

Russian and Ukrainian scientists discovered something very important more than half a century ago.

It is critical to note that, more than half a century ago, a group of Russian and Ukrainian geophysicists, working in state secrecy, confirmed that hydrocarbons originated deep in the earth’s mantle under conditions similar to a giant burning cauldron at extreme temperature and pressure. They demonstrated that, contrary to US and accepted Western ‘mainstream’ geology, hydrocarbons were not the result of dead dinosaur detritus concentrated and compressed and somehow transformed into oil and gas millions of years ago, nor of algae or other biological material.[6]
The Russian and Ukrainian geophysicists then proved that the oil or gas produced in the earth’s mantle was pushed upwards along faults or cracks in the earth as close to the surface as pressures permitted. The process was analogous to the production of molten lava in volcanoes. It means that the ability to find oil is limited, relatively speaking, only by the ability to identify deep fissures and complex geological activity conducive to bringing the oil out from deep in the earth. It seems that the waters of the Caribbean, especially those off Cuba and its neighbor Haiti, are just such a region of concentrated hydrocarbons (oil and gas) that have found their way upwards close to the surface, perhaps in a magnitude comparable to a new Saudi Arabia.[7]
Geopolitics revolves around extracting, moving and controlling natural resources like hydrocarbons, minerals, and precious metals.
The peak oil psyop — SCARCITY, FEAR — has been used to JUSTIFY military intervention to control oil assets…..because otherwise our economy will collapse and we’ll all die. I used to believe it myself.
How many people have died over that one lie, in a half a century?
This comes down to the banking system, again, and the people who control the banking system, and their murderous desire to remain in control at all costs. Because, at present, all oil must be purchased with US dollars. (Correction: Iran sells oil in Euros and other currencies. See how troublesome they are?! -ed.) And the US dollar fiat currency has reached it’s mathematical limits and needs to be replaced with a new fiat currency, falling under the same people’s control.

In the early seventies, OPEC was formed and then massively increased the price of oil over the following years. The major oil companies (and their client governments) rolled over without much fuss at all and accepted the new staus quo. There were no invasions. I remember being surprised at the time and the answer to the riddle came along in due course. The oil majors (who, remember, are owned by the major banking families) made a deal with the Saudis (and the other OPEC nations followed) to only sell their oil through the oil “bourses” in London and New York and the sales to be denominated in US dollars. This neat trick meant that the major banks could issue huge amounts of dollars (out of thin air) as loans to the value of the world’s oil sales because everyone now needed to get the US$ before they could get the oil. This is how the US dollar was cemented in place as the reserve currency of the world. And this is how, too, they have been able to deliberately dismantle the US domestic economy over the last thirty years through globalisation (thank you Milton Freidman!) and not see the value of the US dollar plummet. This is how the US has financed its huge military buildup. It would have not been possible otherwise. It has been able to spend, spend, spend all this new found wealth from the interest gained from the vast loans as well as spending the money outright. It may take a while to get your head round this but, believe me, it really is as simple as its sounds.

Perhaps now you will see new meaning in Saddam Hussein’s selling of oil in currencies other than the US$ which he started shortly before he (and all Iraqis) came to grief. This accounted for the timing of the war as well as its raison d’etre. Perhaps you will extend that new meaning to encompass Iran’s decision to do likewise. Not only has this threatened the viability of the US’s continued military dominance (it buys from all over the world with its currency backed by others oil), but just as importantly, it threatens the introduction and viability of their projected New World Order currency. This makes Iran target number one. If the US and these bankers can’t control or own Iran’s oil, they must, at least, stop them from selling it in anything other than $US for the moment and the OWC in the future. Bombing their oil fields and have the Iranians block the Straits of Hormuz in retaliation would achieve that just fine.

But that would be a temporary solution. What is needed really is complete control of Iran. This same scenario applies to Russia as well. [and Haiti, Palestine... - ed.] The oil fields need to be under the international bankers control before the OWC can be introduced. Time is running out. This juggernaut has been put in motion and they cannot afford to stop it in mid stride for fear the whole plot, hatched over decades (if not longer), will collapse.

So they have to maintain and enhance their control over oil before they can effect this switch to a new fiat currency. Large oil supplies like Haiti’s must come under their control, but they didn’t have a good excuse for invading Haiti, and they don’t necessarily want people knowing about the oil there. That wouldn’t look good. Conveniently, the “earthquake” JUSTIFIED descending upon and reorganizing Haiti. Similarly, something will have to JUSTIFY the continued abuse of the Palestinians in Gaza. And something will have to JUSTIFY an attack on Iran. The options narrow by the day. I think they will be forced to do a false flag, and I hope that their evil plans blow up in their faces before another innocent person has to die for all this greed.

no mistake

This is terrorism.

Just across the US border.
Young people celebrating a soccer championship and a birthday.
Killed at a house party.
By drug cartels.
Randomly.
And it must have been a misunderstanding…because these were good kids.

But there’s no mistake, no misunderstanding. This is the idea.

Drugs. Danger. Close. Youth. Sports……”Random.”

It’s NOT random. This is terrorism. Conditioning your mind. It’s all in the papers. You only have to look. They want you to know this, very much, that there’s nothing you can do. There’s nothing even that THEY can do, because they tried. See? It’s hopeless. You can do everything right, and the authorities can try to protect you, but the terrorists will still strike. You can put your children into sports and keep them away from drugs, and they can still be targeted. That’s the message coming through loud and clear in all the important papers. Do you get it?

Terrorism is organized crime. The only question we need to answer: Who organizes it? And we already know the answer to that question.

For example, plots in Turkey are being exposed day by day, where the fascist group Ergenekon, which is tied to Mossad and the CIA and corrupt elements of the Turkish military, has a 5,000 page document planning acts of terrorism, to be blamed on al qaeda, including killing 200-300 Turkish children on a field trip, with the express purpose of toppling the Turkish government (Erdogan & Gul), and ushering in a military dictatorship. Seriously. This is what we’re dealing with. Click through to aangirfan.

LA Times: Reporting from Mexico City - Authorities in Ciudad Juarez said Monday that they have no idea what motivated a weekend shooting attack against a group of young partygoers that killed at least 16 people in the border city.

The death toll rose from 14 after two more victims died Monday from wounds suffered during the assault, in which gunmen in seven vehicles sealed off the street and opened fire on a party packed with teenagers. More than a dozen people were wounded during the attack around midnight Saturday.

The majority of the dead were under 20, and most were high school or college students..

..”The violence has always been between the criminal groups, [but] in this case in particular — good kids, students, athletes — there is no apparent motive for these deeds, and that is what concerns Juarez residents most today,” Reyes said during a radio interview. “This case is very difficult for us.”

The International News: Ferriz also encouraged local citizens to give information and tips through a new anonymous system.

“To solve this all us citizens of Juarez should insist that this case is solved. We obviously require the participation of local citizens and it is important to encourage everyone to participate in the “crime stoppers” system. It’s an anonymous system that allows information to be truly confidential. Not even the authorities know the identity of those who give information,” he said….Violence is escalating even as federal police and soldiers patrol the streets. Some 2,650 people were killed in drug violence in Ciudad Juarez last year and cartel murders have jumped since the start of 2010.

NYT: Juárez has become ground zero in the government’s war against drug traffickers, as rival cartels use their enormous firepower to fight over drug distribution and routes across the border to Texas.

Mayor Jose Reyes Ferriz said Monday that investigators had no motive for the crime and that the victims were “innocent civilians.”…As they cowered in their houses, neighbors dialed emergency services, but soldiers and police officers did not arrive until after the shooting had stopped….A neighbor who gave his name only as Hector was quoted by The Associated Press as having said the students must have been attacked by mistake….Last month, the federal police said that 2,000 additional officers would be sent to the city to add to the soldiers and state police officers patrolling Ciudad Juárez. Five more people were killed in the Pacific Coast state of Sinaloa early Sunday when gunmen fired repeatedly on their car. Among the dead were a state police officer and a 16-year-old girl, state officials said.

Chinaview: Some 20 armed men entered the house and shot at them before escaping the crime scene in seven vehicles….Mexico is the key transit route for U.S.-bound cocaine from South America and the country itself is a top producer of marijuana and heroin.

Dallas News: Like most killings here, the motives remain unclear: Most of those interviewed said the teens had nothing to do with drugs. What’s troubling, though, is that the latest bloodbath marks a watershed moment for this city, as the victims – all students who grew up together – were not gathered at a bar or a rehab center but at a private home….It comes just weeks after President Felipe Calderon sent 2,000 U.S.-trained federal police officers to help restore order in this city. They joined about 7,000 soldiers and other local and state authorities to take on cartels in Juárez fighting to control drug distribution routes leading to the United States, the world’s largest drug consumer market. Juárez is across the Rio Grande from El Paso. For about two weeks, Calderon’s latest strategy seemed to be working as the killings fell dramatically. But it didn’t last. Since Thursday, at least 40 people had been killed, bringing the total for January to more than 220 people. In 2009, more than 2,700 people were killed, making Juárez the deadliest city in the Americas and one of the most violent in the world.

Others blamed the federal agents standing guard or federal investigators who were trying to piece together what had happened and why. They complained that the police and soldiers took too long to arrive after the emergency calls were made. And when they arrived, they wasted too much time before taking the victims to a nearby hospital. Some parents, out of frustration, said they took their children in their private vehicles. As two investigators walked by slowly, with notepads out, some of the relatives hissed at them and shook their heads in disgust. “Don’t waste your time or mine,” said one woman, who said her name was Teresa. Like most, she spoke on the condition of anonymity, explaining that she trusted no one in a country where more than 95 percent of all crimes remain unsolved. She answered a few questions and then buried her face in her hands and burst into tears. Two of the victims were her nephews. Both were baseball fanatics and had left their gloves in the front yard after playing a few hours before the massacre.

The victims’ final hours were replayed between family members as they looked for clues. The day they were killed, some studied or ran errands for their parents or played football or softball. By early evening, they washed up and prepared to celebrate their friend’s 19th birthday at a nearby home provided by a parent to keep the teens out of town where they feared the killings are more common. “We did everything right,” Soto said. “We raised them to be good, educated people, to dream of a better future. Where did we go wrong?”

LA Times, Headline: As Mexican teens celebrate school soccer win, gunmen open fire…Last month, the Calderon administration took a new tack. Amid widespread complaints that soldiers were trampling people’s rights, the government decided to reduce the army’s profile by pulling troops off the streets and sent in 3,000 more federal police officers to carry out patrolling and investigative duties.

UK Press Association: Police officials said witnesses told them there were at least 15 attackers.

Violence also rocked the oceanside Mexican community of Lazaro Cardenas. Police in the south-western city say that, just after midnight on Saturday, about 20 heavily armed gunmen riding in trucks with tinted windows attacked a police station with grenades and assault rifles, killing a police officer and two civilians - a mother and her son who had come to pay a fine.

Also early on Sunday morning, three women and two men, all identified as Mexican citizens, were murdered while driving in their van with California number plates near the western Mexican city of Navolato. The bodies of the five victims, including a 16-year-old girl, were found riddled with bullets, said Martin Gastelum, attorney general for the state of Sinaloa, where Navolato is located. Authorities also found more than 60 spent shell casings from Kalashnikov assault rifles in the van, Gastelum said.

CNN: “There was no situation that provoked it,” Reyes said. “The people who died were young. They were good people. There was no association with any crime group.”

The attack occurred around 12:30 a.m. local time Sunday in southern Juarez, Municipal Police communications spokesman Jacinto Seguro said. “Witnesses said the gunmen arrived in seven cars, closing down the streets and blocking exits,” Seguro said. “They then stormed into the party and began shooting as the group was watching a soccer game,” he said, adding that windshields and windows on the cars were darkly tinted. Reyes said Monday there were at least four vehicles and up to seven. The number fluctuates, he said, depending on the survivors’ memories.

“Now, the danger is that they will come into anyone’s home and shoot anybody,” said Teresa Henriquez, an aunt of one of the victims, according to El Universal newspaper. “We have no one to protect us or defend us.” Despite thousands of troops being deployed to Juarez, the violence there is unabated.

passports and terrorism

1. passport fraud is a global threat according to chief of Interpol. the man makes sense! airport scanners are misguided.

DAVOS - THE biggest travel threat facing the world now is passport fraud, according to the chief of Interpol - the millions of stolen documents that could be used by terrorists or criminals to travel worldwide.

Airport body scanners, embraced by many in the aftermath of the attempted Christmas Day airplane bombing, are a misguided solution to travel threats, Interpol Secretary-General Ronald K. Noble told The Associated Press in an interview Thursday night.

‘The greatest threat in the world is that last year there were 500 million, half a billion, international air arrivals worldwide where travel documents were not compared against Interpol databases,’ he said on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, where 2,500 business and political leaders are gathered in this Alpine resort.

‘Right now in our database we have over 11 million stolen or lost passports,’ he said. ‘These passports are being used, fraudulently altered and are being given to terrorists, war criminals, drug traffickers, human traffickers.’ The solution, he said, is better intelligence, and better intelligence sharing, among countries. [as long as they are not corrupt!!! - ed.]

‘You don’t know the motivation behind the person carrying the passport,’ he said. If you’re a terrorist, he said, ‘Are you going to carry explosives that are going to be detected? No.’

Many US airports use the body-scanning machines and airports in other countries are adopting them after Nigerian Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab allegedly tried to detonate explosives hidden in his underwear Dec 25 on the Detroit-bound flight. But Noble cited a case two weeks ago in a Caribbean country where five people were caught after they were found to be carrying stolen passports - one stolen back in 2001. — AP

2. US state dept say they let patsy underpants keep his visa, at the request of counterterrorism officials (CIA? DHS?), “to avoid tipping off larger investigation.” i see. so how does that work?  is it that the people on the plane were never in danger because our agencies were running an operation? and therefore all the bloviating after-the-fact is simply a giant mind-fuck? or they were in danger but our agencies did a cost-benefit analysis and decided that all those people’s potential lives were worth the risk?

Nathan Hurst / Detroit News Washington Bureau

Washington –The State Department didn’t revoke the visa of foiled terrorism suspect Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab because federal counterterrorism officials had begged off revocation, a top State Department official revealed Wednesday.

Patrick F. Kennedy, an undersecretary for management at the State Department, said Abdulmutallab’s visa wasn’t taken away because intelligence officials asked his agency not to deny a visa to the suspected terrorist over concerns that a denial would’ve foiled a larger investigation into al-Qaida threats against the United States.

“Revocation action would’ve disclosed what they were doing,” Kennedy said in testimony before the House Committee on Homeland Security. Allowing Adbulmutallab to keep the visa increased chances federal investigators would be able to get closer to apprehending the terror network he is accused of working with, “rather than simply knocking out one solider in that effort.”

3. jpost: ‘assassins came to Dubai with Landau’ - possibly using forged documents. so you see, INTELLIGENCE OPERATIVES might use forged documents. let us say, they probably do. that would be an expected part of INTELLIGENCE WORK. and INTELLIGENCE OPERATIVES might knowingly allow people with FORGED DOCUMENTS to travel to accomplish their INTELLIGENCE WORK, which may or may not involve KILLING PEOPLE.

Israeli agents who accompanied National Infrastructures Minister Uzi Landau to two weeks ago may have assassinated Hamas operative Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, senior Hamas leader Mahmoud Zahar said Saturday. Speaking to Al Jazeera, Zahar added that the agents possibly entered the with forged documents.

On Friday, Hamas claimed that Israeli agents assassinated one of the Islamist group’s veteran operatives in a killing allegedly carried out last week in , and vowed to retaliate. The group blamed for Mabhouh’s slaying, but offered no evidence of foul play or Israeli involvement in the man’s death. The government had no immediate comment.

4. and then the INTELLIGENCE PEOPLE will say things like this:

Mumbai An alert has been sounded in the city following fresh intelligence inputs that two terror suspects might have sneaked into the metropolis to carry out strikes, police said on Thursday. The inputs, which even specified the names of the suspects, say that the duo from a neighbouring country might masquerade as taxi drivers to conduct recce and execute their plans, sources said. They, however, declined to divulge the names of the suspects and their nationality lest it should hamper investigation.

The police have intensified patrolling and checking of taxis across the metropolis. Traffic police are also conducting random checks of licences. Intelligence inputs about possible terror strikes have become a frequent occurrence since 26/11 attacks and all precautions in this regard have been taken, they said. Special Branch officials are searching various lodges and hotels to check if any foreign national was staying without proper documentation. All police stations and Mumbai police’s various units are working on the inputs to prevent any terror attacks, the sources said.

5. more vague and POINTLESS requests from INTELLIGENCE people, simply designed to make the public paranoid when obviously, the problem is the INTELLIGENCE PEOPLE THEMSELVES.

Washington The US continues to receive information about terrorist groups planning attacks against India; the State Department has said and advised its nationals to be alert during their travel to the country in the coming months. “The Department of State alerts US citizens to ongoing security concerns in India. The US government continues to receive information that terrorist groups may be planning attacks in India,” the US State Department said in its latest terror alert.

Terrorists and their sympathisers have demonstrated their willingness and capability to attack targets where US citizens or Westerners are known to congregate or visit. The recent advise replaces the travel Alert dated December 29 that expired on April 30, the State Department said. Noting that 26/11 Mumbai attacks provide a vivid reminder that hotels, markets and other public places are especially targeted by terrorist groups, the State Department asked its nationals to always practice good security, maintain a heightened situational awareness and a low profile. “US citizens are advised to monitor local news reports and consider the level of security present when visiting public places, including religious sites, or choosing hotels, restaurants, entertainment and recreation venues,” it said.

6. meanwhile, some “young, hip US jews” have taken to wearing the new “israeli keffiyeh”. how special. to horn in on a symbol long associated with the Arab world, to suddenly decide that hey, why can’t we wear the keffiyeh too? now it means nothing, or everything, or anything. how convenient. now one might think about the al qaeda woman decoy idea: women who “look” western but are al qaeda terrorists, and note that now we will also have women who may “look” arab but are jewish, etc. so much confusion, so many opportunities for things to go wrong, especially with 11 million lost or stolen passports floating around and intelligences agencies who intentionally overlook people they assure us that they’re watching 247 365….

It might be considered by some as a symbol of Palestinian “resistance” or solidarity, but for a group of young, hip US Jews, wearing a keffiyeh – especially one with blue embroidered Stars of David – is just as much their right as anyone else’s.

“We did have some negative comments [about the keffiyeh] when we initially sent it out to our mailing list,” Erez Safar, founder and director of Shemspeed, a Jewish music label and promotion company that started selling the traditional Arab headdress about two weeks ago, told The Jerusalem Post on Thursday….However, he is not oblivious to the fact that this new “Israeli keffiyeh,” which has been selling fairly well, has already engendered controversy among some who feel it might be inappropriate for Jews to use it as a pro-Israel symbol. [d'ya think?]

“We have had some Arab friends take offense to our new scarf-remix,” acknowledged Safar. “We have some Muslim rappers who have taken part in our Hip Hop Sulha series, which is a Jewish and Muslim reconciliation concert series featuring Hip Hop groups from around the world. We are having a concert in February and one of the performers has actually backed out because of these scarves.”

“As a Jew, I am not offended by the pope who wears a ‘kippa,’ and in the same respect, I don’t feel there is any reason for anyone to take offense to a Jewish person wearing a version of the keffiyeh, which they also identify with,” he said in the statement. [too funny. the problem only comes if the pope *didn't* wear the 'kippa' when the rabbis tell him to...]

“The way that symbols are politicized and used to divide people, rather than as common ground for discussion and dialogue, is exactly the kind of thought-provoking topic that we at Shemspeed want to explore with our music, as well as our programming. Our Israeli remix of the keffiyeh is just one more interpretation of a scarf worn by our brothers for thousands of years.” [oh sure, yes, we're all one big happy family right? ]

Safar said that the scarves, which also have “Am Israel Chai” embroidered in Hebrew into the fabric, were created purely to express a deep love for and “the unity it creates among Jews.” [and who could possibly argue with that? ]

7. the frosting on the cake. PLEASE READ! aangirfan: Sledgehammer; 911. see for yourself how so-called al qaeda militants work closely with our very own INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES to plot murder, mayhem and chaos, using, among other tools, FRAUDULENT PASSPORTS.

excerpt:

Ercan Gun, at zaman.com (TODAY’S ZAMAN ), 15 Agust 2005, reported on the Syrian ‘Al Qaeda Militant’ Luai Sakra (Saqa) who was arrested for organizing the double bomb attacks in Istanbul on 15-23 November 2003.

Sakra ‘has confessed to Turkish police that he provided the attackers of 9 11 with passports’.

Sakra ‘claims that he knew Muhammad Ata’.

Sakra ‘claims he drinks alcohol and does not pray’.

Sarka reportedly said: “I was one of the people who knew the perpetrators of September 11, and knew the time and plan before the attacks. I also participated in the preparations for the attacks to WTI and Pentagon. I provided money and passports.”

Reportedly, some of the passports, which Sakra claimed to have provided himself, were found in the ruins of World Trade Centre I.

Ercan Gun wonders if Al-Qaeda is a Secret Service operation.

Sakra was interrogated for 4 days at the Istanbul Anti-Terror Department Headquarters. Reportedly this has provided some important information.

According to Ercan Gun, Turkish intelligence specialists now believe:

1. Al-Qaeda is the name of a secret service operation.

2. Al Qaeda is linked to a strategy of tension.

3. Sakra, the fifth most senior man in al-Qaeda, was offered employment by the CIA. The CIA gave him a large sum of money.

the plane crash in Lebanon was noted but ECLIPSED by some other stories…

1. Guardian: Baghdad suicide bombers kill dozens in hotel attacks, three separate attacks on targets used by WESTERNERS in center of Iraqi capital. BUT WHO DIED? DID THE PEOPLE OF THE WEST DIE OR DID THE IRAQIS DIE? one cannot help note the symbolism of the names of the hotels and the method of attack: suicide bomber at the Palestine hotel, explosion at Babylon hotel, and of course the gunman at the Al Hamra hotel, and then the decoy “white van” broke through the security barrier to explode. oh wow do you think they are using symbolism? i think so. just like the new al queda threat will be from women suicide bombers who look Western.

At least 30 people have died in an attack by suicide bombers and gunmen on three hotels used by westerners in central Baghdad. Iraqi police gave the number of dead and said more than 40 were wounded by the blasts, which occurred in the last hour.

The attack began when a suicide bomber detonated his charge in the Palestine hotel. Minutes later a second explosion caused severe damage to the Babylon hotel, which is used by Iraqi travellers and sometimes for government meetings.

Gunmen then opened fire outside the Al Hamra hotel, where many foreign journalists are based. Security guards and Kurdish peshmurga fighters returned fire and the street was cleared, but a white van with a flashing red light – looking like an emergency vehicle – broke through the hotel’s security barriers and exploded inside the perimeter.

One report said the explosions took place in the Abu Nawas street area and that smoke was seen in the parking lot outside the entrance to the Ishtar Sheraton hotel, next to the Palestine, with the shock wave blowing open doors and sending dust into nearby offices.

3. and the Indians — we can’t forget them. they are practically People of The West now that they have officially come over to Team US & Israel. so there was a plot to hijack an Indian plane and that sparked a UK alert

LONDON: Indian authorities are reported to have warned British intelligence agencies about a suspected plot by al-Qaeda-linked terrorists in Pakistan to hijack an Air India or Indian Airlines plane, originating from Delhi or Mumbai, and “crash” it into a British city….

In a front-page report, The Sunday Times claimed that India told MI5 about the alleged plot early last week after the interrogation of Amjad Khwaja, a suspected militant, arrested in India recently. Khwaja was described as a “leader” of Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami, which is alleged to have been behind terror attacks in India.

The newspaper said the warning was contained in a “detailed threat assessment sent to MI5 by the Indian Intelligence Bureau.”

8. in Pakistan, the insidious Indian propaganda — opinion, excerpt:

Stereotyping Muslims justifies all actions to destabilize Pakistan and even to launch a war if necessary.

The hate against Muslims is a combined strategy of US, Israel and India. The so called ‘War on Terror’ has a covert design to suppress the Islamic resurgence and undermine its identity through a well orchestrated plan. Pakistan should not dismiss it as a ‘whimsical idea’. There is a method in madness. They have killed around 90,000 Muslims in Kashmir in alone notwithstanding regular communal riots like the one in Gujrat, where Muslims were cut into pieces like vegetables. Besides Muslims, Sikhs have been killed to the tune of 250,000 in the operation against Golden Temple. A significant number of Christians have been slaughtered only in Orissa. Dalits are being most brutally treated at the hands of Hindus and yet the propaganda is to whitewash the Hindu propensity for violence. Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was indeed a man of great foresight. He saw through the game, the Hindus were playing that they were the true inheritors of the British Empire and every one else was to be left high and dry.

Unfortunately, the rest of the world is uncritically accepting the Indian propaganda that it is a vibrant democracy, quite oblivious of the reality that India is notoriously following its apartheid repressive policy against its religious minorities. They are covertly planning to destabilize through subversion in Balochistan, tribal areas and extending it to Punjab and Karachi. George Orwell said very rightly: “In time of universal deceit, telling to truth is a revolutionary act.” The truth must be heeded to and our countrymen must rise against Indian machinations.

1. no sooner does gates leave — they probably didn’t even clear his lunch dishes yet — than we find out that The Terrorists Are Ready to ATTACK! like — immediately.

NEW DELHI: Army chief Deepak Kapoor on Tuesday warned that 26/11 type Mumbai terror attacks were a possibility and that India has to take all steps to counter such strikes. “We have to take all steps to prevent any Mumbai type attacks. We cannot rule out apprehensions of such possibilities,” Kapoor told reporters on the sidelines of an Army function.  To a question if there were any terror alerts in the recent times, he said the South Asian region is infested with terror groups. Be it India, Afghanistan or Pakistan, “we have to collectively battle such threats.”

He said providing strategy and equipment to paramilitary forces in the fight against Naxals would be a futuristic option.

2. Air India planes — on high alert

NEW DELHI: Government has put all Air India planes operating in the country’s neighbourhood on high security alert and directed the airlines to deploy sky marshalls following intelligence inputs that Pakistan-based LET and other terror groups were planning to hijack a flight….According to intelligence inputs, terrorist groups having allegiance with al-Qaida, Lashker-e-Taiba and Jamat-ul-Dawa were planning to hijack an Air India plane especially operating in or from SAARC countries — Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Maldives, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India as well.

NEW DELHI: Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba has acquired more than 50 para-gliding equipment from Europe, setting off alarm bells that these could be used to carry out air-borne suicide attacks in the country….The input about movement of overground workers, owing allegiance to LeT, in Europe led the sleuths to find out that they were on a shopping spree for para-gliding equipment, the sources said….Radars located at strategic locations have been tuned to intercept all low flying objects and authorities are not taking any chances, sources said. …Ahead of the Republic Day, elaborate air defence measures, including deployment of anti-aircraft guns, have also been taken to check possible intrusion of air space.  Besides, helicopters of the Indian Air Force will hover over the areas around Rajpath and all along the route of the Republic Day parade. Earlier, intelligence reports suggested that Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence had directed the militants operating in Jammu and Kashmir to use explosive-laden ‘Toy Planes’ to hit VIPs in the state and the national capital.

NEW DELHI: Intelligence agencies on Friday sounded a terror alert in Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi following reports that terrorists had sneaked into these cities to target vital installations. Home ministry sources said that Taliban-trained ‘fidayeen’ (suicide squads) had reportedly entered the country to carry out attacks at specific iconic structures. Barely a fortnight back, there was a similar alert saying that ‘Pashtun-looking’ suicide bombers, trained by Taliban, had entered India to launch a fresh wave of attacks. Security has been beefed up at key installations and patrolling has been intensified in market places, railway stations, airports and hotels, sources said.

BANGALORE: India is not perturbed over the US supplying drones, or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), to Pakistan as long as they are used against the Taliban militants, Chief of Air Staff PV Naik said on Friday….The Indian Air Force (IAF) chief said he was not unduly concerned over such a development as it had no bearing on India. US defence secretary Robert Gates said in Islamabad late on Thursday that the US planned to provide Pakistan with a dozen Shadow aerial drones to help its military to take on the Taliban militants. …The US has been employing armed drones for missile strikes against al-Qaida and Taliban operatives in Pakistan, fuelling anti-American sentiment there and attracting public condemnation from Islamabad.

“I want to be sure that everyone here recognises how centrally important Indian will be to this (the US success in Afghanistan and Pakistan),” he told US lawmakers at a Congressional hearing on Afghanistan and Pakistan convened by the powerful Senate Foreign Relations Committee chaired by Senator John Kerry, a key aid of President Barack Obama…. “India is not formally part of my mandate, but with the support of the Indians, I try to go to New Delhi as often as I can to keep them informed and to discuss the situation with them,” Holbrooke told US lawmakers.

“I don’t think it would be valuable to go into details in the public forum, but I do want to stress that the Indians are very, very anxious that we succeed in Afghanistan. They’re supporting us,” he said. …”I know that all of you feel that they ought to do more, and I understand that. We all hope that they will be able to find ways to deal with all of the militants in the frontier areas. But there are two full Pakistani divisions right now just in Swat, and they have pulled over a hundred thousand troops off their eastern border in order to deal with this,” he said.

Noting that Pakistan is facing capacity issues, he said: “That’s why, in addition to asking for the Kerry-Lugar-Berman legislation, we have asked for increases in FMF and other forms of military assistance.” …”That is why we’re so hopeful that the ROZ legislation will pass the Senate - it passed the House in the last session - because it is both symbolically and substantively important,” he said in reference to a pending legislation in the Congress which if passed would allow duty free export of US products from certain parts of Pakistan to the US.

8. Pak interior minister Malik tells it straight

Islamabad: Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik said India has not provided credible evidence in connection with Mumbai terror attacks despite repeated demands by Islamabad. He made the remarks during a discussion at the Pakistani Senate Thursday, an online news agency reported.

He said terror attacks such as in Mumbai and on Samjhota Express were plotted by India to discredit Pakistan. Malik said Indian citizens were involved in the attack on Samjhota Express and warned that India would be responsible if more such attacks take place in the future.

Meanwhile, a Pakistani academician has urged the government to bar US Defence Secretary Roberts Gates from visiting the country in the future unless he apologizes for his remarks that it was unreasonable to think India would continue to be patient in the face of another terrorist attack. Gates, who made the statement during his recent visit to India, is currently in Pakistan along with a 150-member US delegation. Professor Khurshid Ahmad said the statement was alarming.

10. India poses very helpful question to the WHO. thank you for that question. it gives the WHO a chance to respond fully and “quell the doubts”!

Secretary Health, K.Sujatha Rao urged World Health Organization (WHO) to effectively explain reports appearing in the media that the Swine Flu was a false pandemic. Making an intervention in the Executive Board meeting of WHO currently going on in Geneva, Secretary Health pointed out that such news reports were adversely impacting upon the public health measures being undertaken by countries- She also called for greater transparency about terms and conditions on which international vaccine manufacturers were supplying vaccines to countries, In response to this intervention by India, it was agreed that WHO would formally write to National Focal Points in all countries clarifying the factual position about the H1N1 pandemic to quell all doubts that had been created.

Commenting upon the report of the WHO on the progress towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals Secretary Health urged WHO to clearly promote generic drugs as a strategy for rational drug use. India emphasised that it is only the WHO that has the credibility to withstand the persuasive power of branded and patent drugs. India urged all countries to promote access to medicines and not to confuse the issue of counterfeits which is an IPR issue with safe and efficacious generic drugs.

11. after all, the WHO was a little surprised how badly this flu thing went

Jan 19, 2010 (CIDRAP News) – The H1N1 influenza pandemic brought no “devastating surprises,” but what has surprised public health agencies is the public’s lack of interest in getting vaccinated, Margaret Chan, director-general of the World Health Organization (WHO), said yesterday. Chan, speaking at the opening of the WHO Executive Board’s meeting in Geneva, made the comment in the wake of moves by a number of European countries to reduce their vaccine orders in response to falling public demand for the vaccine.

“Although the virus has not delivered any devastating surprises, we have seen some surprises on other fronts,” Chan said in her prepared remarks. “We anticipated problems in producing enough vaccine fast enough, and this did indeed happen. But we did not anticipate that people would decide not be vaccinated.”…Chan did not refer explicitly to those allegations in her speech. But, given the vast range of health information now available to the public, she said, public health leaders may not have the authority and credibility they once did….

“When the history of this pandemic is written, I believe that the speed of actions taken by governments to protect their populations will earn the highest marks,” she said. Despite heavy burdens on emergency rooms and intensive care units, “nearly all health systems have coped well. Let me pay tribute to all the health care workers who have worked tirelessly to care for patients.”

The close observation of the pandemic will yield “a wealth of new knowledge,” Chan said.

1. the PROBLEM of US hegemony and abuse of the internet … definitely a problem. BUT what should be done about this problem??

Concerns about the US monopoly of the domain name server (DNS) system grew among other nations as much as their reliance on the Internet for issues ranging from politics and the economy to defense and the general society. Years ago, there was a proposal that the Internet be administered by the United Nations or under international cooperation. The European Union insisted that the World Wide Web is an international resource that should be jointly managed by all nations. Some developing countries pointed out that at the early stage of Internet development, developed countries seized large amounts of domain names, leaving a limited few for them, and demanded a share with the US over Internet administration. American officials opposed the suggestion.

…US Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Twitter and other social networking sites are “strategic assets of great importance” because “these new technologies make it harder for the ‘dictator regimes’ to control information”. A former intelligence official said the channeling of US ideology via the Internet is much easier than sending spies to target countries or training local agents in target countries who identify with US ideology. The move the US government made in June 2009 — when it dissented over the Chinese government’s order to install the filtering software Green Dam and pressured China’s government for interfering in the freedom on the ‘Net and the freedom of information flow — is probably related to its intention to infiltrate China.

According to a Hong Kong media agency, the CIA invests tens of millions of US dollars every year to aid “Chinese net traitors” to infiltrate Chinese net users with US ideology. They haunt major Chinese forums and portals. A website called “Wazhe Online” (Chinese Pinyin) is a secret mission with the cooperation of US government institutions and overseas “Tibetan splittist organizations” with the tasks of agitating, deluding, infiltrating and instigating Chinese net users, making up rumors to initiate riots and collecting information via the Internet. A Tibetan youth who once worked with one organization said it is an online spy agency which is supported by the US financially, controlled by the Americans and serves the Americans. A commentary on Hong Kong-based Ta Kung Pao said those who publish stories sensitive to China’s policies on the net have complex backgrounds and are hired by US and Japanese spy agencies.

4. google’s deep CIA connections

Google is, in fact, is a key participant in U.S. military and CIA intelligence operations involving torture; subversion of foreign governments; illegal wars of aggression; and military occupations of countries which have never attacked the U.S. and which have cost hundreds of thousands of lives in Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, and elsewhere.

To begin with, Google is the supplier of the core search technology for ‘Intellipedia, a highly-secured online system where 37,000 U.S. spies and related personnel share information and collaborate on their devious errands.

Agencies such as the so-called ‘National Security Agency’ have also purchased servers using Google-supplied search technology which processes information gathered by U.S. spies operating all over the planet.

In addition, Google is linked to the U.S. spy and military systems through its Google Earth software venture. The technology behind this software was originally developed by Keyhole Inc., a company funded by Q-Tel http://www.iqt.org/ , a venture capital firm which is in turn openly funded and operated on behalf of the CIA.

7. well in any case you have NOTHING to worry about because We Are Ready

The president of the United States has always had the constitutional authority, and duty, to protect the American people and direct the national response to any emergency that threatens the security and safety of the United States. The Rockefeller-Snowe Cybersecurity bill makes it clear that the president’s authority includes securing our national cyber infrastructure from attack. The section of the bill that addresses this issue, applies specifically to the national response to a severe attack or natural disaster. This particular legislative language is based on longstanding statutory authorities for wartime use of communications networks.

OK that seems pretty clear that the president can secure (control) the national infrastructure from attack as part of the national response to a severe attack or natural disaster based on statutory authorities for wartime use of communication networks. Right?

WRONG! THAT’S NOT WHAT IT SAYS CAN’T YOU READ?????

To be very clear, the Rockefeller-Snowe bill will not empower a “government shutdown or takeover of the Internet” and any suggestion otherwise is misleading and false.

Oh wow, that’s so confusing. The statement says one thing, and then it says the complete opposite! Yes you will allow the president to secure the private infrastructure based on the Rockefeller-Snowe bill based on longstanding statutory authorities for wartime use of communications networks, but no you will not suggest that the Rockefeller-Snowe bill empowered the president to shutdown or take over the internet. That would make you a LIAR.

So here’s the instruction: “Securing the private infrastructure based on longstanding statutory authorities for wartime use of communications networks” IS NOT “shutting down or taking over the internet.”

YES IT IS.
NO IT’S NOT.

ISLAMABAD - US DEFENSE Secretary Robert Gates warned on Thursday that Taleban safe havens along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border must be tackled or both nations would suffer ‘more lethal and more brazen’ attacks. Writing in Pakistan’s The News at the start of a two-day visit to Islamabad, Gates stressed Washington’s commitment to Pakistan and praised military offensives launched against the Pakistani Taleban in recent months. But US officials have made clear that Washington is anxious to see Islamabad also target the Afghan Taleban within its borders and Al-Qaeda-linked militants using the northwest tribal region to plot and launch attacks into Afghanistan.

‘It is important to remember that the Pakistani Taliban operates in collusion with both the Taleban in Afghanistan and Al-Qaeda, so it is impossible to separate those groups,’ Mr Gates wrote. ‘If history is any indication, safe havens for either Taleban, on either side of the border, will in the long run lead to more lethal and more brazen attacks in both nations,’ he added in the editorial. Mr Gates wrote that making distinctions between the different extremist groups was ‘counterproductive’. ‘Only by pressuring all of these groups on both sides of the border will Afghanistan and Pakistan be able to rid themselves of this scourge for good - to destroy those who promote the use of terror here and abroad,’ he said. — AFP

3. Pak army tells Gates where to stick the pressure. it can’t launch any new offenses for 6 months at least to stabilize gains already made. Gates totally understands. totally supportive. of course this will make it much easier to blame Pak when something goes wrong.

The Pakistani army said Thursday during a visit by U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates that it can’t launch any new offensives against militants for six months to a year to give it time to stabilize existing gains. The announcement probably comes as a disappointment to the U.S., which has pushed Pakistan to expand its military operations to target militants staging cross-border attacks against coalition troops in Afghanistan. Washington believes such action is critical to success in Afghanistan as it prepares to send an additional 30,000 troops to the country this year.

But the comments by army spokesman Maj. Gen. Athar Abbas clearly indicate Pakistan will not be pressured in the near term to expand its fight beyond militants waging war against the Pakistani state. Whether it can be convinced in the long term is still an open question. “We are not talking years,” Abbas told reporters traveling with Gates. “Six months to a year” would be needed before Pakistan could stabilize existing gains and expand any operations, he said.

…Referring to intense political pressure in Washington to lean harder on Pakistan, Gates sounded sanguine. “As I try to remind Congress from time to time, and frankly some of the folks in the administration, it’s the Pakistanis who have their foot on the accelerator, not us,” Gates told reporters at the start of his two-day visit to Pakistan. The political pressure goes two ways. Suspicion of U.S. motives runs high in Pakistan, and many Pakistanis bristle as the notion that Washington could dictate the country’s priorities even with a recent promise of an unprecedented $1.5 billion in annual aid. “We have to do this in a way that is comfortable for them, and at a pace that they can accommodate and is tolerable for them,” Gates said. “Frankly, I’m comfortable doing that. I think having them set that pace as to what they think the political situation will bear is almost certainly the right thing to do.”

He also said his talks with Pakistan’s leaders were intended to explain the U.S. war strategy in Afghanistan and reassure Pakistan that the United States is “in this for the long haul.”

4. oh by the way, Tehran, Islamabad finalize gas pipeline deal, against the advice of Richard Holbrooke, and something that India wanted to do but dropped out of after 13 years. that should all blow over like a lead balloon.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran and Pakistan finalized an agreement to build a gas pipeline which is due to take Iran’s rich gas reserves to his energy hungry nation, a Pakistani official announced.

The two countries will sign an accord on the pipeline next week, Pakistani Federal Minister for Petroleum Naveed Qamar said.  Qamar also said the federal government is taking serious measures to combat the current energy crisis in the country, Pakistani daily Dawn reported.  The Pakistani minister’s remarks came as the US special envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke had earlier urged Islamabad to avoid the deal with Iran.

Holbrooke said the US would help Pakistan secure liquefied natural gas supplies, should it abandon the planned gas deal with Iran.

The 2,775 km Iran-Pakistan-India (IPI) pipeline, nicknamed Peace Pipeline, was initially planned to take natural gas from Iran to India. However, due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan, New Delhi stepped back from the later stages of negotiations, although it has never formally withdrawn from the scheme. The IPI pipeline was proposed in 1995, and, after almost 13 years of negotiations, India decided to step back last year. Indian officials have many times cited security issues and the viability of the pipeline that would pass through the territory of rival Pakistan, where a near-civil war is raging between government forces and pro-Taliban militants.

In a major breakthrough on March 20, the Pakistani government approved Iran’s proposed pricing formula for gas supplies to the South Asian nation and the two sides eventually signed a bilateral agreement just a few months ago.

5. Gates directing the narrative in India: opens the umbrella for LeT, al qaeda syndicate present, tells India that it must be running out of patience (wink wink wink!)

Warning that India may not show restraint in the event of another Mumbai-style attack, US Defence Secretary Robert Gates today said a “syndicate” of terror groups, including the Lashkar-e-Toiba, were “operating under the umbrella of al-Qaeda” and trying to destabilise the region, even attempting to provoke a war between India and Pakistan.

Gates, who met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Defence Minister A K Antony, called for a “high level of cooperation” from all countries to defeat the “syndicate” of terror which had “home and safe haven” in the border areas of Afghanistan and Pakistan.

“While al-Qaeda is operating in Afghanistan along with the Taliban, the Tehreek-e-Taliban is focusing on Pakistan. The LeT is focusing on Pakistan as also India,” Gates told reporters. “The success of any one of them is success for all… Victory for one is victory for all. These groups operate under the umbrella of al-Qaeda from NWFP and Waziristan.”

“Under the umbrella, they intend to destabilise not only Pakistan, but the entire region by provoking confrontation between India and Pakistan through terror attacks. This is very dangerous for the entire region as a whole,” he said.

6. so India decides to crackdown on….. Maoists! watch out poor people.

Thousands of paramilitary personnel have launched a crackdown to target some 50 Maoist leaders across the country in a bid to crush what is described as India’s biggest internal security challenge.

“We would be breaking the neck (of the Maoist movement) by arresting all their senior leaders like Kishenji,” a highly placed official in the security establishment said in an interview. “We believe there could be around 50 such leaders scattered all over. We are targeting them to make the entire movement headless and make a serious dent,” the official told IANS. “With this it would be relatively easy to take on the rest of Maoist guerrillas,” the official added, providing for the first time operational details of the coordinated and sweeping security drive.

As of now, operations are under way in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Orissa, West Bengal and Maharashtra — five states where the outlawed Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) is most active, mainly among tribals living in remote interiors who are among the poorest of the poor. The operational methods would, however, differ from the way Sri Lanka’s military crushed the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) last year, it was pointed out.

…According to rough estimates, over 60,000 paramilitary forces would be in action against 6,000-7,000 Maoists armed with heavy weapons as well as light machine guns, AK-47s, AK-56s and Insas rifles….Another official said the security forces, especially the CRPF, have got six trained dogs each for the “special sector” (Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra), “eastern sector” (Orissa and West Bengal) and the “Bihar sector” (Bihar and Jharkhand) to help take on the Maoists.

At a time when states are teaming up to crack down on Naxalites, the Shibu Soren-led government in Jharkhand, one of the states worst affected by Naxal violence, has quietly halted operations, including long range patrols and raids directed at the extremists. And in one of the first fallouts, eight policemen were killed in a landmine blast triggered by Naxals in Gumla last Friday.

Central paramilitary forces, including 28 CRPF companies, are being made to wait by the state government while the Special Task Force, comprising personnel of the Jharkhand Armed Police who have been trained in jungle warfare and anti-landmine techniques, are back in the barracks. The Soren government’s move to put the brakes on anti-Naxal operations, within days of taking charge of the state, has set off alarm bells in the security establishment. Mohammed Abdul Khwaja (30), a commander of the militant group Huji for South India who was caught by the Hyderabad Special Task Force recently, was in-charge of recruiting youth from the region and training them to be terrorists, say the police. It is believed he was  responsible for making Raziuddin Nasir, who was planning serial blasts in Goa, a suicide bomber. Nasir, son of Hyderabad-based cleric Moulana Naseeruddin, has been arrested by the state police on charges of plotting a series of bomb attacks on western tourists in Goa.

Khwaja, who was working in Saudi Arabia, invited Nasir to Riyadh, from there he was sent to Pakistan with a duplicate passport for training.
Nasir returned to India
after the training and was in regular touch with Khwaja while taking shelter in North Karnataka.  He was acting as handler to Nasir giving instructions to Nasir and passing out information to his bosses in Pakistan and Bangladesh, said police officials.

10. Holbrooke — we won’t broker talks, you  kids work it out amongst yourselves

The United States has once again clarified that it would not broker talks between India and Pakistan, and said pending issues should be resolved by them amicably. Interacting with editors and columnists here, US Special Envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke said Washington would support any initiative taken by both countries to improve their ties. “It is for Pakistan and India to engage in a process of dialogue, and we support it,” The Daily Times quoted Holbrooke, as saying.

Responding to Indian Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor’s recent statement that the Indian Armed forces were capable enough of taking on both Pakistan and China simultaneously, Holbrooke said it was his (General Kapoor’s) personal opinion and that it did not reflect New Delhi’s policy. “What General Kapoor said does not reflect the Indian national policy,” Holbrooke said.

11. India’s “massive” arms build up will jeopardize regional balance: Pak

Expressing concern over the alleged ‘massive’ arms build up by India, Pakistan’s National Command Authority (NCA) has said that New Delhi could jeopardise the regional balance by such moves. The NCA blamed India for rejecting Pakistan’s proposal for maintaining a strategic restraint regime in South Asia.

A press release issued after the meeting said that India’s massive inductions of advanced weapon systems, build up of nuclear arsenal and delivery systems could to destabilise regional balance. “This relentless pursuit of military preponderance will have severe consequences for peace and security in South Asia, as well as for the Indian Ocean region. Pakistan cannot be oblivious to these developments,” The News quoted the statement, as saying. The NCA also took note of remarks made in India that it was cable of conducting conventional military operations under a nuclear umbrella terming it as an ‘irresponsible’ statement.

“Such irresponsible statements reflected a hegemonic mindset, oblivious of dangerous implications of adventurism in a nuclearised context,” the statement said.

psychopath parlor games: i’ll trade you untold millions of poor brown people from 14 underfunded emergencies for one Andrew Hall

January 2010: UN allocates 100 MILLION dollars to respond to 14 neglected crises

UNITED NATIONS, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) — The United Nations has allocated some 100 million U.S. dollars to respond to 14 ongoing but underfunded emergencies, ranging from Afghanistan to Yemen, the world organization announced Monday.

The single largest allocation of some 17 million dollars from the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) went to UN agencies and their partners in Ethiopia. The Democratic Republic of the Congo ( DRC) came second with approximately 16 million dollars.

Other recipient countries include Afghanistan, Kenya, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), Yemen, Chad, Niger, Colombia, Eritrea, the Philippines and Haiti. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) noted in a news release that Haiti’s full funding needs are being re-evaluated in light of the tragic earthquake that struck the country last Tuesday.

Launched in March 2006, CERF is managed by OCHA and aims to speed up relief operations for humanitarian emergencies and make funds available quickly after a disaster, when people are most at risk.

July 2009: Bank Bonus Tab $33 billion

Nine banks that received government aid money paid out bonuses of nearly $33 billion [conspiracy math fact: 1 billion = 1,000 million - ed.] last year — including more than $1 million apiece to nearly 5,000 employees — despite huge losses that plunged the U.S. into economic turmoil….The nine firms in the report had combined 2008 losses of nearly $100 billion. That helped push the financial system to the brink, leading the government to inject $175 billion into the firms through its Troubled Asset Relief Program.

…Those on Wall Street argue they have to pay to keep talent.

…Citigroup — which received about 25% of the aid going to the nine banks — has the No. 1 pay recipient. Andrew Hall, who heads Citigroup’s energy-trading unit Phibro LLC, received $98.9 million in 2008, according to a government official. Citigroup CEO Vikram Pandit, by comparison, received more than $38 million last year.An early test for Mr. Feinberg will be the pay of Mr. Hall, whose profit-sharing contract with the bank could again entitle him to as much as $100 million, say people familiar with the matter.

destabilizing north korea

1. North Korea to allow more visitors from the US — NK needs tourism income, under the squeeze — Financial Times

North Korea will allow more tourists from its arch-foe the US to visit this year, seeking alternative sources of hard currency as sanctions bite deeper. …Tourism is a key foreign currency earner for Pyongyang, which is calling for sanctions imposed over its nuclear weapons programme to be lifted.

Further denting Pyongyang’s dollar income, Thai authorities last month detained an aircraft packed with arms being smuggled from Pyongyang. Diplomats saw this as a severe threat to the cash flow of Kim Jong-il, the country’s leader. Reports from defectors also suggest a recent currency redenomination has caused economic chaos during a bitter winter.

In a very rare admission that the country needed to improve its economic record, Mr Kim this month confessed that the nation had failed to deliver “rice and meat soup” to the people. He vowed to improve people’s lives.

2. NK moves to counter the market it fears and needs — Voice of America

On November 30, North Korea’s government suddenly re-valued its currency, ordering citizens to exchange old won notes for new bills, at an exchange rate of 100 to one. It allowed each person to exchange just 100,000 won - the equivalent of around $30. Pyongyang has since banned the use of foreign currency such as U.S. dollars, or Chinese yuan.

The changes effectively destroyed the wealth of those who had piled up won by trading in makeshift markets. Many North Koreans keep their money at home because they either cannot access or do not trust the country’s banks. Ha Tae-kyoung is the president of Open Radio for North Korea, which, like VOA, broadcasts news into the North. He says sources inside North Korea report frustration at the revaluation.

…He says those who made huge profits in the market are the losers in the reforms. However, salaried workers closely connected to the government can see the reforms as a positive development. That is because some government workers are receiving the same nominal salaries as before the 100-to-1 devaluation, effectively raising their pay by a factor of 100.

Kim says he thinks North Korean leader Kim Jong Il and his apparatus remain strong enough to keep the market in check. He says the North Korean leader would not have implemented the reforms if he thought there would be serious resistance. However, Noland warns that could change if Pyongyang tries to enforce the ban on owning foreign currency. “It’s the elites that deal in foreign currency, indeed, parts of the military and security services,” he said.  “And if the government literally tried to take their dollars or yuan away, that’s the sort of thing that could actually lead to political instability.”

3. why doesn’t everyone agree that Robert Parks is a HERO for being the hegelian dialectical opposite of patsy underpants bomber? (cue the violins…)

The other martyr, in stark contrast, was a 28-year-old Christian missionary, Robert Park. An American of Korean descent, Park offered himself up peacefully, on Christmas Day, for the cause of life and liberty for others. He went to northeast China, and from there walked across the frozen Tumen River into North Korea. Witnesses told reporters that as he went, he called out, in Korean, messages of God’s love, as well as “I am an American citizen.” He took with him a letter to North Korean tyrant Kim Jong-il, asking Kim to open his country and shut down his prison camps.

4. daredevil activist deserves more attention. well hey, i’ll bet he gets it too.

Park’s action seemed futile, but it has already begun to create ripple effects. Susan Scholte, a winner of the Seoul Peace Prize, and U.S. Special Envoy for North Korea Human Rights Issues Robert King publicly voiced their concern for Park’s safety. U.S. media, including the Christian Science Monitor, have shown interest in Park’s action, and prayer meetings are taking place in South Korea for his safety.

Robert King, in a live conversation with South Korean Internet users held on a U.S. Embassy-run Web site, said he wants North Korea to achieve significant political and economic changes like Russia and China have gone through over the past 20 years. “I hope North Korea follows their example and makes economic and political changes,” King said, according to a transcript posted on the Web site.

6. as if to underscore the point…new suspect in 10 year old NK kidnapping case. what are the chances??!!??

It was 10 years ago this Saturday that a South Korean pastor helping North Korean refugees in China was kidnapped. And as the anniversary nears, a new suspect in the abduction of Reverend Kim Dong-shik is under South Korean investigation. Do Hee-yun, head of the Seoul-based Citizen’s Coalition for Human Rights of Abductees and North Korean Refugees, told the JoongAng Ilbo that a former North Korean spy who “played a principal role” in the kidnapping of Reverend Kim is being interrogated by South Korean authorities. According to Do, the ex-agent, named Kim, wasn’t staying at the official North Korean refugee shelter Hanawon, but instead was at another facility for investigation.

North Korea has called on South Korea to punish members of conservative organizations who sent anti-Kim Jong-il fliers across the border, the North’s state media said Wednesday. …Since late 2008, the fliers criticizing Kim Jong-il’s dictatorship and sometimes, containing U.S. dollars and Chinese currency, have troubled the isolated state, which controls the press and offers only limited information.

8. and all this pressure for what ends? the nuclear weapons. Russia (good cop?) willing to build railways if NK give up nukes

Russia is willing to construct gas pipes, electrical power networks and railways that could bridge the two Koreas and Russia if North Korea gives up its nuclear weapons. This is according to Russian Ambassador to South Korea Konstantin Vnukov, who told Yonhap News that the proposal could be included in the idea of the “grand bargain,” which was proposed by President Lee Myung-bak as a comprehensive rewards package for North Korea if it abandons its nuclear program. The South Korean government responded positively to Russia’s overture, saying the deal can be reviewed when the six-party talks resume.

source: chosun ilbo

9. US (bad cop) : another setback on nukes

In a Foreign Ministry statement issued Monday, North Korea proposed talks to reach a peace treaty before denuclearization. The North also said it could return to the six-party talks if United Nations sanctions were lifted. But the U.S. government dismissed the idea less than 24 hours later. It stressed that a peace regime and other issues could only be discussed once the North returns to the six-party process and makes progress in denuclearization.

Our government maintains the same stance. The nuclear standoff, which had been in a lull for about a month following the Pyongyang trip by Stephen Bosworth, the U.S. special envoy on North Korea, once again has become the sticking point among North Korea, South Korea and the United States….The chances of denuclearization of the peninsula in the near future have diminished. It may have become that much more difficult to see permanent peace here. But we can’t give up on seeing the North abandon nuclear weapons. We have to be patient and mix strong and soft responses until North Korea is persuaded. One hopeful aspect is that time is not on the North Korean side. With its pending leadership change, North Korea will find it difficult to maintain its hedgehog tactics.

The problem is that there remains a possibility that the North Korean regime, which may not opt for a bold shift in foreign policy, could act provocatively toward South Korea. Furthermore, we can also predict that the antsy North will continue to raise tension on the peninsula. Meticulous and thorough countermeasures to control the North’s provocations are necessary. On top of robust military strength, we need to apply the carrot and the stick flexibly.

10. also, US ‘unlikely to let SK reprocess nuclear fuel’ until this is all ironed out with NK. so, like, never?

The U.S. is unlikely to allow South Korea to reprocess spent nuclear fuel that is piling up in secure storage facilities until a satisfactory solution to the North Korean nuclear problem is found, a report said this week. The matter is a key issue in negotiations between Seoul and Washington on the revision of the Korea-U.S. Atomic Energy Agreement, which expires in 2014. …However, “if the North Korean problem were to be satisfactorily resolved, the U.S. might be prepared to agree to some form of pyroprocessing under strict nonproliferation conditions,” he added.  Pyroprocessing is a new technology of eletrolyzing spent nuclear fuel rods and extracting uranium and plutonium that can be reused as fuel. It is being developed under South Korea’s initiative.

the record company

Back in the days of vinyl records, record companies released expected hits on 7″ records, 45s. The hit went on the A side, and some misfit song the record company considered to have a commercial handicap went on the B side. Maybe the song didn’t fit in with the album, or maybe it lacked a strong hook. Something. Occasionally one of these B side songs would take off in popularity, but most of them withered in the shadows of the A side hits. B side songs became the purview of music connisseurs, collectors, assorted off-beat characters who ran record stores after everyone else moved on to digital technology. But every 45 had a B side, whether you knew the song or not. And people still collect them.

It reminds me of the news business. The record company sends them records, but the news people are like DJs who only play the A sides. According to the “experts,” people who listen to B sides are assorted off-beat characters otherwise known as “conspiracy theorists,” who, as everybody knows, are all overwrought and paranoid.

Those who believe that major world events result from planning are laughed at for believing in the “conspiracy theory of history.” Of course, no one in this modern day and age really believes in the conspiracy theory of history — except those who have taken the time to study the subject…Politicians and “intellectuals” are attracted to the concept that events are propelled by some mysterious tide of history or happen by accident. By this reasoning they hope to escape the blame when things go wrong.- Gary Allen [1]

The only way a tiny group of people ever came to control the physical world, and continue to control the physical world, is through mental deception and emotional manipulation. Here’s how. They create problems, secretly (the B sides). Then they talk about the problems nonstop using their corporate media, which blankets the whole wide world. They play the A sides over and over and over again. People dance. They tell us to dance faster. We do. We are terrified of these problems. We believe we caused them because experts keep telling us that we did. So we have no choice, we must listen to the experts, and they say dance, or else… Eventually, they tell us we can rest for a few minutes, they think they have a solution. Exhausted, we agree. We have to rest. Of course, they offer the solution they always wanted to the problem they created in the first place, but we don’t know that. That song, the one about how they created the problem, is on the B side, and the DJs don’t play that side. If they did, we wouldn’t dance, and they like to watch us dance. How fun for them. So as soon as we catch our breath, they put another A side hit on.

Greatest Hits: The Financial Crisis

A side: The economy will collapse because Americans are greedy, overzealous consumers who never know when enough is enough. Not everyone should own a home, you know.[2]  OK, maybe some people made a few mistakes in the financial industry.[3] It happens. Like the banks stupidly lent to people they shouldn’t have.[4] But these are smart, talented people and we need to put our noses to the grindstone and get through this.[5] I mean, c’mon, who could have predicted?[6]

Dance step: Buck up, kids. Work harder.[7] Get a third job. Blame immigrants for your problems if you want,[8] but sorry, the banks are too big to fail.[9]

B side: The fiat money system has reached it’s mathematical limits and needs to taken down and replaced, somehow, with a new usurious debt trap run by our favorite families.[10] Hoo boy. Hopefully nobody will notice we ran the whole gig into the ground on purpose.[11] We’ll need to distract them. Big Time. Hey can somebody get the other records ready? We’re definitely gonna need them.

Liner notes:

Our money is an illusion. Except for coins, which compose only one ten-thousandth of the money supply, all of our money today consists of debt to private banks. Banks always take back more money in principal and interest than they put into the money supply as principal, making the system basically a pyramid scheme. After 300 years, this scheme has spread around the world and has now reached its mathematical limits. The whole world has been captured in the debt trap of a private international banking monopoly. - Ellen Brown [12]

We knew this would happen, and roughly when. Alan Greenspan began the process of creating enormous bubbles that will pop, we hope in a controlled-demolition sort of way, during the first decade of the millennium.[13] This will make a giant mess to justify scrapping our used-up jalopy fiat money system and replacing it with a brand new one world currency.[14] This will be our finest accomplishment, should we achieve it. By the way, failure is not an option. We’ll all be killed.[15]

We must relax credit for consumers, encouraging them to borrow and get into a lot of debt, debt beyond imagining, while simultaneously allowing financial institutions to buy and sell credit swaps — insurance that they will be paid in other words — on financial instruments in which they have no financial interest. We will build a giant gambling casino on top of our usurious fiat money scheme. Huge beyond imagining. The entire thing will eventually collapse. The destruction? Beyond imagining. You get the idea.[16]

To this end we will ensure that public and corporate policies encourage the personal misfortunes of ordinary people and small businesses (the disaster lottery slot machines). This will ensure enormous profits for our friends running the casino. When the scale of the problem threatens to finally close the casino, we will pay off and/or bribe the politicians to bail us out by threatening to close the casino.[17] We are too big to fail. This will make everything worse for the citizens. When their currency finally becomes worthless and they face hopelessness and utter despair, we will force them to accept our one world currency.[18]

Since we make our currency out of thin air, we need to back it with a commodity. We have decided to stick with oil for now, since everyone still uses it and we know where most of it is. We’ll have to control all the oil, or at least the vast majority of it, for our plan to work.[19] We will convince them we’re running out and that we’re keeping the fact a secret.[20] The Iranians have been the only people to outwit our diabolical debt trap so far, and they also have a lot of oil, so we have to bomb their oil fields, somehow, and control them lest they wreck our plans.[21] But since they haven’t started a war in several hundred years, this will require a major advertising campaign. They must be thrown under the bus. Big Time.

Greatest Hits: The War on Terror

A side: Lots of dance tunes here, kind of a remix. A little bit people hate us for our freedoms, a little bit Islam is a violent religion. Riffs of Arabs and especially Iranians want to wipe Israel off the map, al Qaeda will never stop trying to kill us, we have to fight them over there so we don’t have to fight them over here. We have a Clash of Civilizations, it’s not that you did anything wrong really these people just can’t be reasoned with, it’s hopeless, just waiting for Armageddon (chorus), etc.[22]

Dance step: Give up your privacy so we can be safe.[23] Expect inconveniences and limitations in your travel so we can be safe.[24] Please mind your neighbors’ business so we can be safe.[25] Support Our Troops so we can be safe. Vote Republican so we can be safe.[26]

B side: OK we need to distract “the folks” with a really bad enemy, a new Pearl Harbor or two, and some never-ending wars fueled by diabolically persistent terrorists who always manage to slip away.[27] Some of our people will definitely die, and a lot of foreigners will definitely die, but you gotta break some eggs to make an omelet. Right? Right.[28] We’ll pay off who we need to pay off. We have the money.

Liner notes: We expect to kick this off in the early millennium, say around 2001. Let’s say a memorable date like 9/11. We expect the financial problems to have metastasized but it won’t be obvious yet. We need to get these people cowering in fear, get them to submit to our authority so that we can plunder them and distract them and keep them busy fighting each other and everyone else. Divide and conquer. We can trust Bush the ass to squander any good will quickly, but we won’t admit it, causing bitter acrimony.[29] Of course we will never deliver the security we promise in exchange for their sacrifices. The fools. We’ll even telegraph this plan years in advance, but it won’t make any difference.[30] The War on Terror will fulfill a primary strategic goal: redrawing the map of the Middle East, which ensures our ultimate goal: Israel’s world hegemony. The United States shall supply all the labor and materiel. It’s true that many Americans will be expended, but there are too many people on the planet, and a lot of them must go, especially the poor brown ones living on top of valuable natural resources like oil and minerals, but not only them. We have to keep it “believable.”[31]

Besides oil, we also need to control other resources in the ground like gold, diamonds, etc. It’s not enough to control the money because the money is just paper.[32] It must be tied to a commodity, and all the good commodities reside in the earth. So geology will determine where the war on terror crops up. Our intelligence operatives will seed conflicts as needed around the world to create pretexts for military force.[33] These conflicts will bring about death, displacement and terror, allowing us to control the natural resources while having the advantage of chipping away at the population.

Greatest Hits: Climate Change

A side: You people are killing the planet! Just ask our scientists.[34]

Dance step: Stop having babies! Stop eating! Stop living! Recycle! Reduce your carbon footprint![35] Haha we can still make fun of Al Gore![36]

B side: Guilt. Guilt guilt guilt.[37] We’ll lie about the science,[38] we’ll mess with the weather using our secret weather modification technologies and chemtrails, we’ll terrify the children with dire predictions of their futures underwater.[39] Green will be the new religion.[40] Hollywood will help us out here, just like in the War on Terror, with tremendous special effects in terrifying movies and on slick websites.[41]

Liner notes: While we focus on things under the ground, we shall consistently direct the world’s attention up in the sky. The climate. It’s…changing! And….it’s all the fault of human beings!! [42]We will start this brainwashing early and run it alongside the bubble economy. That way, by encouraging excessive consumption, we can browbeat them senseless for it later. Their children will despise them. Mwahaha. Our scientists will be sure to find that humans cause global warming, especially fat humans.[43] Our think tanks, always so important, will paint apocalyptic scenarios of the horrific consequences of climate change: fighting over scarce resources, failed states, refugees, and so forth. Of course these scenarios will require military interventions to move people to “safety” (away from the valuable underground resources) while degrading their ability to create sustainable lives and simultaneously imposing and stressing the lives of their new host communities.[44] In fact, dire climate change scenarios will “shift liability for wars and human rights abuses away from oppressive, corrupt governments.” [45] Exactly! Between blaming pollution on humans, and a few “enhanced” natural disasters thrown in, which of course we will call Acts of God (wink wink!), we have the perfect alibi for enslaving humanity. And all the while we will withhold life-saving technological advances.[46]

Greatest Hits: Disease and Global Pandemics

A side: The world is deadly. Cancer might get you. Or AIDS. Or some flesh eating bacteria. Scientists, brilliant as they are, seem to be losing the fight against disease.[47] If we’re not careful, some virus will mutate into a killer and wipe out millions, maybe billions. It could start anywhere, at anytime.[48] There’s nothing you can really do. Well, maybe a few things.

Dance step: You probably already have a disease and you don’t even know it. Get yourself to the doctor and get on some pharmaceuticals. Get your “damn vaccine.”[49]  Make sure your children get thirty shots or so before they turn six.[50] It’s for the good of everybody. Check your BMI and obsess over that number.[51] Get in shape. Spend money at a gym. Enroll in a diet program. Torment yourself. Eat this food. Eat that food. Don’t smoke no matter how addictive we make those wads.[52] Drink alcohol. Take some anxiety meds, you look pretty stressed.[53] Be sure to worry, a lot, about the invisible germs you can’t see coming to get you. Sterilize your family and your household.[54] Block the sun’s rays from touching your skin at all times.[55]

B side: We really need to kill a lot of people quickly without wrecking the environment with nuclear waste, because we do want to send our people in to extract resources and also we’d like to be able to go anywhere we want to when this is over. It’s our planet. We paid for it.[56]

Liner notes: Killing poses no problem, you see. We’ve been doing that for years. But to kill a lot of people efficiently, quickly, and to get away with it, well, that takes a special kind of disaster. We will create a deadly pandemic and release it accidentally.[57] After building anxiety about this over a period of years, we will whip them into hysteria and inject poison into their veins with our vaccines. It will be an unfortunate series of events, very regrettable, but all completely deniable under the rubric of preparedness and good intentions.[58] We will be totally prepared for mass casualties, which we hope to occur, at long last.[59]

We’d like to thank our sponsors:

We fund our secret operations with laundered money from human trafficking, drug trafficking, and weapons trafficking. These business models weaken and debase the populations, embroil them in conflicts, and drain their money into our pockets.[60] We have dossiers on everyone we need to control. We know all their weaknesses, which we have exploited. They can’t open their mouths without getting torpedoed. Ask Eliot Spitzer.[61]

Hegelian Mindfuck Records. All rights reserved.

So I’m one of those off-beat characters who collects B sides. Personally, I got sick of listening to the A sides. The records are all scratched up. They skip. The sound quality is terrible.[62] Have you ever noticed? But you know, the B sides are in pristine condition because hardly anyone plays them. Lots of people collect them and pass them around, usually for free. You just have to know who to ask.

Can you imagine if more people stopped dancing and listened to the B sides? We can take those lousy scratched up A side records and encase them in a museum exhibit, and never listen to them again. We can put this rotten record company out of business forever. And we can live in peace.
