Great video:

They are not dramatic. They are pernicious. Most psychopaths are subtle. They are more like poison than a knife, and they are more like slow-working poison than cyanide. So what bullies usually do, they start and stop, start and stop. That achieves the maximal stress syndrome, and this is the great secret of bullying. Never overdo it. Small doses. The victim will do the rest. ~ Sam Vaknin, psychopath

Iraq war inquiry: Blair government ‘massaged’ Saddam Hussein WMD threat

Carne Ross, a British diplomat to the UN who was responsible for Iraq in the runup to the invasion, said intelligence was “massaged” into “more robust and terrifying” statements about Saddam’s supposed WMD.

In evidence to the Chilcot inquiry, which heard that the Foreign Office had objected to the release of documents that he wanted to disclose, Ross said: “This process of exaggeration was gradual and proceeded by accretion and editing from document to document, in a way that allowed those participating to convince themselves that they were not engaged in blatant dishonesty.”

In an example of what he called a process of “deliberate public exaggeration”, Ross said the government in March 2002 sent the parliamentary Labour party a paper that included the claim that “if Iraq’s weapons programmes remained unchecked, Iraq could develop a crude nuclear device in about five years”.

He said the government’s real assessment was more or less the opposite: that sanctions were effectively preventing Iraq from developing a nuclear capability.

The statement to the PLP was “purely hypothetical”, said Ross, “and was true in 1991 as it was in 2002; there was no evidence at either point that Iraq was close to obtaining the necessary material”. A senior Foreign Office official sent a minute to an adviser to Jack Straw, the then foreign secretary, warning about the discrepancy in the memo to the PLP. But, Ross told the inquiry, the official was ignored.

Social engineering in practice:

First some conspiracy facts:

  1. Iran has signed the NPT. As a signatory to the NPT, Iran may rightfully, legally, use nuclear technology for peaceful energy purposes. Iran has submitted to and passed repeated IAEA inspections.
  2. The US intelligence community (NIE) does not consider Iran a nuclear threat. No credible evidence has ever been presented that Iran has a nuclear weapons program.
  3. Israel refuses to sign the NPT. Israel has an estimated several hundred undeclared nuclear weapons.
  4. An attack on Iran will have global consequences.

WSJ (high-end social engineering rag): Why hasn’t Israel bombed Iran (yet)?, by Bret Stephens, former editor-in-chief at the JPost, via the Truth Seeker

1. Israeli military planners have concluded that any attack would be unlikely to succeed (or succeed at a reasonable price). “But this analysis fails to appreciate the depth of Israeli fears of a nuclear Iran, and the lengths they are prepared to go to stop it.” EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE NO EVIDENCE THAT IRAN HAS A NUCLEAR WEAPONS PROGRAM.

2. Israel needs more time to improve its offensive and defensive military capabilities, (ie: to suck dry the US taxpayers.)

3. Netanyahu and his cabinet can’t agree what to do (and who will be blamed if something goes wrong.)

4. And something might go wrong. “This is an unenviable position, and Israel’s friends abroad would do well to spare it easy lectures. Iran is not Israel’s problem alone. It should not be Israel’s problem alone to solve, to its own frightful peril.” EVEN THOUGH THE “PROBLEM” OF IRAN IS ENTIRELY ISRAEL’S INVENTION BECAUSE IRAN THREATENS ISRAEL’S HEGEMONY IN THE MIDDLE EAST.

Commentary by Truth Seeker:

There is a fifth and final reason that Israel hasn’t yet struck at Iran. Despite his impressive record as a journalist, Bret Stephens seems unable or unwilling to acknowledge that Israel has yet to persuade its “ally”to do the job for them.

America’s reluctance to strike Iran can largely be attributed to elements in its military command. But that could change, particularly under someone like Patraeus, who seems to have presidential ambitions.

So while at a stretch it might just be possible, a unilateral strike on Iran would prove very costly for Israel. Indeed it could prove disasterous and rather than face the consequences alone Israel wants the rest of the world to help pay the price.

If only subliminally however, the above does at least prepare readers for the prospect of conflict with Iran.

Do you see a process of deliberate public exaggeration, just like in the lead up to the Iraq war?

Do you see the starting and stopping? The threat advancing and receding? Month after month, year after year.

Do you see the actual facts of the situation diametrically opposed to the breathless claims justifying war?

Softening you up. Confusing you. Conditioning you. That’s the point.

1. Peter Moore, consultant who was kidnapped allegedly by Iran, believes he was always in IRAQ.

Peter Moore, the British IT consultant kidnapped on May 29, 2007 in Iraq and held hostage for three years by Shia extremists, has spoken about his ordeal. In the first interview about his time in captivity, Moore says he was held in Basra - not in Iran, as many reports had claimed - and denies there was any significant Iranian link to the group beyond some covert funding.

The 36-year-old, who was finally released on December 30 last year, told the Times today that he had suffered torture including being hung by his arms from a door, dousings with water and mock executions. Bizarrely, later in his captivity he played ping-pong with one of the men holding him.

To conquer the boredom of being held with only a television for company, Moore says he counted dots on curtains, invented an imaginary tube map on the wall and indulged in fantasies about motorcycling. “I would pretend that I wasn’t there. I pretended I was in a bike shop negotiating which motorbike to buy,” he told the paper. He also invented a wife to try to win the sympathy of his guards – a Brazilian malaria doctor he began almost to believe in himself – and pretended to be Catholic.

US military intelligence has asserted that the captured men – Moore was taken with four security guards, all subsequently executed – did spend some time in Iran.

It was also alleged they had been taken there within 24 hours of capture and held there throughout. But Moore was only willing to concede that he might briefly have crossed into Iran and out again. He told the Times: “We could hear a train and there were loads of mortars going off around us, loads of explosions. It definitely wasn’t Iran.”

Moore believes he was held for most of his captivity in Basra, but also spent time in Baghdad, Hilla and Karbala – all cities in Iraq. He also dismisses the suggestion the kidnap was orchestrated by Iran’s Republican Guard, insisting the kidnappers – a group calling themselves the League of the Righteous - were “Iraqi resistance” with “representation” in Iraq’s government.

According to the Times, Moore is remarkably collected for somebody who has suffered such an ordeal. He plans to visit friends in Guyana and then take a motorbike tour of New Zealand.

2. body found under the patio of Kray friend after tip-off

A MAN’S body has been found buried in the back garden of a house belonging to an ex-convict with links to the Kray twins.

Wrapped in rotting carpet, the corpse was excavated from under the patio of the terraced home. The owner of the house, who is now dying of cancer, has been arrested.

Police began the grisly search after a tip-off that a murder victim had lain under earth and concrete for at least 15 years.

Digging went on for two days before the body was located. Excavations are likely to continue for some days as police search for more clues. Scotland Yard traced the owner of the property in Alderville Road, Fulham, west London, to a hospice where he is terminally ill with cancer. Roy Heath, 52, was questioned over allegations that he had the man killed over a property deal that went wrong.

Heath, who has a record for violence, is said to have struck up a friendship with gangland boss Reggie Kray while they were serving time in the same prison. He was arrested and bailed on Tuesday at the hospice in Lambeth, south London.

It is understood he has just weeks or even days to live.

Two other men, aged 47 and 52, were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the find. They were still in custody last night.

Police have yet to establish the identity of the body, said to be that of a “very small man”.

Detective Inspector Tim Dobson said: “It is believed that the body may have been at the scene between 15 and 20 years. Whilst inquiries are underway to establish the identity of this person, we are keen to speak to anyone who may have lived in this road around that time.”

3. the Kray twins — plugged in organized UK crime bosses from the 50s and 60s

Reginald “Reggie” Kray (24 October 1933 – 1 October 2000) and his twin brother Ronald “Ronnie” Kray (died 17 March 1995) were the foremost perpetrators of organised crime in London’s East End during the 1950s and 1960s. Ronald, commonly referred to as Ron or Ronnie, suffered from paranoid schizophrenia. The Krays were involved in armed robberies, arson, protection rackets, violent assaults including torture and the murders of Jack “The Hat” McVitie and George Cornell. As West End nightclub owners they mixed with prominent entertainers including Diana Dors, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland and politicians, The Krays were highly respected. In the 1960s they became celebrities in their own right, being photographed by David Bailey and interviewed on television.

They were arrested on 9 May 1968 and convicted in 1969 by the efforts of a squad of detectives led by Detective Superintendent Leonard “Nipper” Read, and were both sentenced to life imprisonment.

Ronnie remained in prison until his death on 17 March 1995, but Reggie was released from prison on compassionate grounds in August 2000, a few weeks before his death from cancer.

…[The Krays also came into the public eye when an exposé in the tabloid newspaper Sunday Mirror alleged that Ron had had a sexual relationship with Lord Boothby, a UK Conservative Party politician. Although no names were printed, Boothby threatened to sue, the newspaper backed down, sacked its editor, apologised, and paid Boothby £40,000 in an out of court settlement. As a result, other newspapers were less willing to uncover the Krays’ connections and criminal activities.

The police investigated the Krays on several occasions, but the twins’ reputation for violence meant witnesses were afraid to come forward to testify. There was also a political problem for both main parties. It was neither in the interests of the Conservative Party to press the police to end the Krays’ power lest the Boothby connection was again publicised and demonstrated, or those of the Labour Party because their MP Tom Driberg was also rumoured to have had a relationship with Ronnie.

4. another one: ‘American Fritzl’ Aswad Ayinde ‘directed Fugees video’

51-year-old man from New Jersey is in court today accused of repeatedly raping his five daughters and fathering six children by them in a case with disturbing echoes of the crimes of the incestuous British rapist Adult R - and those of Joseph Fritzl in Austria.

Despite concerns that his victims could suffer if he is named publicly, at least one US newspaper has identified the man as Aswad Ayinde, saying he is the award-winning director of the Fugees video Killing Me Softly.

Prosecutors told New Jersey’s Superior Court yesterday that 51-year-old Ayinde, also known as Eric McGill, is a “depraved” man with a “Messianic complex”. His ex-wife Beverley said yesterday that he had impregnated his daughters in an attempt to keep his bloodline ‘pure’.

“He said the world was going to end, and it was just going to be him and his offspring and that he was chosen,” she told the court.

The abuse is alleged to have begun in the mid 1980s and continued until 2002 when Beverley Ayinde finally left her husband. During that time Ayinde is alleged to have beaten his children with wooden boards and kicked them with steel-toed boots. Moving house frequently to avoid the attentions of the authorities – on one occasion going to Florida - he repeatedly raped his children.

Three of Ayinde’s daughters became pregnant, and Beverley Ayinde told the court some of the resulting six babies were delivered at home and never received birth certificates. In at least two instances children died at home and were buried without the authorities being informed. The surviving children were schooled at home and denied contact with the outside world.

On one occasion Beverley herself miscarried twins after her husband forced her to carry a dead great dane wrapped in a carpet for burial.

In a calm voice yesterday, Beverley Ayinde said she did not report her then husband to police for fear of incurring beatings. “I was afraid to ever accuse him of being demented, or being a paedophile. I knew the word but I wouldn’t dare use it because it would result in a beating,” she said. The judge is expected to rule today on the admissibility of her evidence.

Many of the rapes and assaults are alleged to have been carried out when the family was squatting in a disused mortuary. Beverley Ayinde says her then husband renovated one room for himself but forced his family to live in the dilapidated main part of the building.

Where the parallels between Aswad Ayinde and the recently-sentenced British man Adult R end is in the lack of anonymity. The UK courts have forbidden the identification of Adult R in order to protect his family from public disclosure, but no such protection has been granted to Ayinde in the US.

However, the news agency Associated Press made its own decision not to name Ayinde. It said: “The Associated Press generally doesn’t identify victims of sexual crimes and is not reporting the names of the husband and wife to protect the identities of their children, now all over 18 years of age.”

Some US newspapers have respected this decision. Ayinde was first arrested as long ago as 2006, and has appeared in court earlier this month – but the New York Times has not disclosed his identity. The New York Daily News has had no such qualms, however. It names him, and goes further – identifying him as the director of the Fugees video which won an MTV award in 1996.

The ultra-tabloid New York Post does not name Ayinde, while overseas the London Times does identify him – both papers are owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News International. The First Post has decided to name Ayinde as his identity is now widely known across the internet.

5. UK man harassed to death by punks

Police forces were warned by the Chief Inspector of Constabulary yesterday that they were failing to tackle the toll of anti-social behaviour on communities across the country.

As Denis O’Connor was speaking, reports began to emerge of a man with a mental age of 10 who had been “tormented to death” by youths who harassed him for more than a decade.

David Askew, 64, collapsed and died outside his house minutes after CCTV cameras recorded two teenagers approaching the house.

Last night, Greater Manchester police confirmed that an 18-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter over Mr Askew’s death. Earlier police had confirmed that they had referred the case to the Independent Police Complaints Commission after allegations from Mr Askew’s neighbours.

Police insisted they had done everything possible to support Mr Askew, his wheelchair-bound mother, Rose, and brother Brian. They had been to the property in Hattersley, Greater Manchester, 10 times in the last year after reports of anti-social behaviour. One youth – currently in prison – has an ASBO for harassing the family.

But neighbours insisted too little had been done. One said Mr Askew’s ordeal had been “like bear-baiting”. Another, Hazel Holley, 64, said: “The police did nothing. If you see two policemen on this estate you say snap. The only time recently I have seen a police car round here was today – when the man was already dead.”

1. more Abu Sayyaf militants captured, ties to AQ, JI, MNLF.

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines: The Philippine military killed at least six Abu Sayyaf militants in fierce clashes Sunday in the southern province of Sulu, official said. Top commanders of the group were among the dead.

Three soldiers were also slightly wounded in the fighting that erupted in the village of Karawan near Indanan town, a known stronghold of the Abu Sayyaf who are blamed for a spate of kidnappings in the restive region. “We have killed at least six militants and recovered their weapons. Three of my soldiers are slightly wounded in the fighting,” said Marines Brig. Gen. Rustico Guerrero, commander of military forces in Sulu, who is leading an offensive against the militant group tied to Al-Qaeda and Jemaah Islamiah.

He said a platoon of Marines special unit and reconnaissance soldiers attacked an Abu Sayyaf camp in Karawan, a mountain chain s and a known lair of the militants. Lt. Gen. Benjamin Dolorfino, the regional military commander, said a senior Abu Sayyaf leader wanted by the United States was among those killed in the clashes. “We have reports that Albader Parad and Dr. Abu were among those killed and we are trying to verify this information,” he said.

Dolorfino said troops were fighting Abu Sayyaf forces under Albader Parad and Abu Jumdail, also known as Dr. Abu because of his alleged ability to cure wounded militants. Jumdail was the cousin of Umbra Jumdail, one of the core leaders of Abu Sayyaf. Both leaders are wanted by the Philippine and US authorities for their involvements in the kidnappings of American citizens and the killing of two US Special Forces soldiers in Sulu. Dolorfino described the offensive as a “surgical, intelligence-driven operation.” Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) rebels under former chieftain Nur Misuari also fought side by side with the Abu Sayyaf militants in the fighting that began at dawn, local media said.

2. Iraq: gunmen murder two iraqi families, mostly children, and behead some — blamed on election, ie: it’s the locals. DON’T COUNT ON IT.

Gunmen murdered two Iraqi families, mostly children, beheading some of the victims and killing 12 people on Monday, as a spate of brutal attacks hit the country less than two weeks before elections. Nine children were among those killed in their homes in and around Baghdad, while 11 other people died in violence across Iraq, including three in a suicide car bombing and a police commando who was shot dead by a sniper. The worst incident occurred in Al-Wehdah, a predominantly Shiite Muslim town in an ethnically-mixed area about 20 kilometres (12 miles) southeast of Baghdad. Eight members of the same family, including six children younger than 12, were gunned down and several were beheaded.

Beheadings have been the trademark of Sunni insurgents in Iraq, particularly Al-Qaeda militants in the violence that flared after the 2003 US-led invasion, although the motive for the attack was unclear. Baghdad police said they later apprehended four people carrying silencers in connection with the murders, after receiving a tip-off. A second family, comprising a mother and her three daughters, was shot dead overnight in their home in the mostly Shiite north Baghdad district of al-Hurriyah, a police official said, on condition of anonymity.

4. Germany arrests 3 suspects of helping Islamic militants planning attacks against “The West”

BERLIN (Reuters) - German police have arrested three people suspected of helping a radical Islamist group whose followers have confessed to planning attacks on U.S. targets in Germany, prosecutors said on Monday.

The federal prosecutor’s office said it suspected two men whom it identified only as Alican T. and Fatih K., and one woman, Filiz G., of supporting the Islamic Jihad Union (IJU), a group often linked to a militant Islamist movement that originated in Uzbekistan.  “They are accused of aiding the terrorist group financially,” said Marcus Koehler, a spokesman for the prosecution, adding that the charges involved the transfer of several thousand euros to accounts in Turkey late last year.

Four men affiliated to the IJU and known as the “Sauerland group” are on trial in the western city of Duesseldorf for planning bomb attacks on U.S. institutions in Germany. A verdict in that case is due in the next week or two. Prosecutors said the three suspects arrested on Saturday were apprehended in Berlin and the southern city of Ulm, are aged between 20 and 31 years, and hold German citizenship.

What if this was your beautiful little daughter?

General Ray Odierno blames a changing al qaeda:

Following Monday’s suicide bombings of three major hotels in Baghdad, the attacks were widely seen as an escalating attempt to destablize the country ahead of key parliamentary elections in March. The top US general in Iraq said that while there was no definitive proof, he believed Monday’s attacks were conducted by Al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI)an organization whose leaders appear to be increasingly well-educated and increasingly Iraqi, he said.

…At security checkpoints – including those surrounding Baghdad – the Iraqi government has relied heavily on an explosive detection device manufactured by a British private company that is being investigated for fraud. Last week, the British government stopped the export of the hand-held devices, which the US military has determined to be “totally ineffective,” but they are still widely in use in Baghdad.

…Odierno said the explosives detonated on Monday were much less powerful than those seen in previous high-profile bombings, but at least one of the audacious attacks marked a change in tactics. Gunmen outside the Hamra Hotel, popular with Western journalists, opened fire on the compound’s security guards before the suicide truck bomb drove through the barrier and detonated. “It’s the first time we’ve seen it executed this way,” Odierno told journalists. “As time goes on, their ability to impact becomes less and less, so they are trying to get the biggest outcome.”While the US and Iraq had made great progress, they should not underestimate the difficulty of dealing with a sophisticated and constantly shifting organization, he said.

But exactly how clever does “al qaeda” have to be to outwit a totally useless, fraudulent bomb-detecting device?

Iraqi officials said they would begin an investigation into why their Government paid at least $85 million to the British company, ATSC, for at least 800 of the bomb detectors, called ADE 651s.

Official doubts about the device were first reported in November, citing US military officials and technical experts who said the ADE 651 was useless.

”We are conducting a criminal investigation, and as part of that a 53-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of fraud by misrepresentation,” a spokesman for the Avon and Somerset Constabulary in England said. The suspect’s identity was widely reported as Jim McCormick, the managing director of ATSC.

Another company, Global Technical, also makes these useless devices. They have been sold to many countries in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, for tens of thousands of dollars A PIECE, God only knows how many innocent people have died as a result.

Bomb sniffing devices are not a new scam. ATSC, Ltd. has been operating over in the UK for a decade, and Global Technical had been falsely claiming since 1999 that the bomb detectors were given the approval of the British Military. Early last year, the UK government told Global Technical to stop claiming the GT200 had been given the Ministry of Defense’s approval– but other than requesting that their name not be used to endorse the product, they took no action.

Unfortunately, not only is the UK’s “prohibition” on exports of the ADE-651 device not particularly timely, it is not particularly comprehensive either:

“We will be making an order, under the Export Control Act 2002, banning the export of this type of device to Iraq and Afghanistan.

“The reason the ban is limited to these two countries is that our legal power to control these goods is based on the risk that they could cause harm to UK and other friendly forces.”

So essentially they are only banning the ADE-651 in places where it might kill NATO forces. But as for the citizens of Thailand, civilian and police alike, that have been killed as a result of reliance on the GT200? Well, they can just go on continuing to be killed by the fake bomb detectors, that’s just too bad for them.

Click here to watch a 10 minute BBC on this fraud. The BBC wanted to ask Mr. McCormick how he could JUSTIFY selling these so-called bomb detectors when independent experts say they can’t possibly work.

Presumably, if he dared to answer the question, it would be simply because he made lots and lots of money. Presumably, the innocent deaths are of no concern to him.

the plane crash in Lebanon was noted but ECLIPSED by some other stories…

1. Guardian: Baghdad suicide bombers kill dozens in hotel attacks, three separate attacks on targets used by WESTERNERS in center of Iraqi capital. BUT WHO DIED? DID THE PEOPLE OF THE WEST DIE OR DID THE IRAQIS DIE? one cannot help note the symbolism of the names of the hotels and the method of attack: suicide bomber at the Palestine hotel, explosion at Babylon hotel, and of course the gunman at the Al Hamra hotel, and then the decoy “white van” broke through the security barrier to explode. oh wow do you think they are using symbolism? i think so. just like the new al queda threat will be from women suicide bombers who look Western.

At least 30 people have died in an attack by suicide bombers and gunmen on three hotels used by westerners in central Baghdad. Iraqi police gave the number of dead and said more than 40 were wounded by the blasts, which occurred in the last hour.

The attack began when a suicide bomber detonated his charge in the Palestine hotel. Minutes later a second explosion caused severe damage to the Babylon hotel, which is used by Iraqi travellers and sometimes for government meetings.

Gunmen then opened fire outside the Al Hamra hotel, where many foreign journalists are based. Security guards and Kurdish peshmurga fighters returned fire and the street was cleared, but a white van with a flashing red light – looking like an emergency vehicle – broke through the hotel’s security barriers and exploded inside the perimeter.

One report said the explosions took place in the Abu Nawas street area and that smoke was seen in the parking lot outside the entrance to the Ishtar Sheraton hotel, next to the Palestine, with the shock wave blowing open doors and sending dust into nearby offices.

3. and the Indians — we can’t forget them. they are practically People of The West now that they have officially come over to Team US & Israel. so there was a plot to hijack an Indian plane and that sparked a UK alert

LONDON: Indian authorities are reported to have warned British intelligence agencies about a suspected plot by al-Qaeda-linked terrorists in Pakistan to hijack an Air India or Indian Airlines plane, originating from Delhi or Mumbai, and “crash” it into a British city….

In a front-page report, The Sunday Times claimed that India told MI5 about the alleged plot early last week after the interrogation of Amjad Khwaja, a suspected militant, arrested in India recently. Khwaja was described as a “leader” of Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami, which is alleged to have been behind terror attacks in India.

The newspaper said the warning was contained in a “detailed threat assessment sent to MI5 by the Indian Intelligence Bureau.”

8. in Pakistan, the insidious Indian propaganda — opinion, excerpt:

Stereotyping Muslims justifies all actions to destabilize Pakistan and even to launch a war if necessary.

The hate against Muslims is a combined strategy of US, Israel and India. The so called ‘War on Terror’ has a covert design to suppress the Islamic resurgence and undermine its identity through a well orchestrated plan. Pakistan should not dismiss it as a ‘whimsical idea’. There is a method in madness. They have killed around 90,000 Muslims in Kashmir in alone notwithstanding regular communal riots like the one in Gujrat, where Muslims were cut into pieces like vegetables. Besides Muslims, Sikhs have been killed to the tune of 250,000 in the operation against Golden Temple. A significant number of Christians have been slaughtered only in Orissa. Dalits are being most brutally treated at the hands of Hindus and yet the propaganda is to whitewash the Hindu propensity for violence. Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was indeed a man of great foresight. He saw through the game, the Hindus were playing that they were the true inheritors of the British Empire and every one else was to be left high and dry.

Unfortunately, the rest of the world is uncritically accepting the Indian propaganda that it is a vibrant democracy, quite oblivious of the reality that India is notoriously following its apartheid repressive policy against its religious minorities. They are covertly planning to destabilize through subversion in Balochistan, tribal areas and extending it to Punjab and Karachi. George Orwell said very rightly: “In time of universal deceit, telling to truth is a revolutionary act.” The truth must be heeded to and our countrymen must rise against Indian machinations.

1. suspect in Iran confesses to contacts with MKO — you have terrorists able to function out of areas controlled by the US military

“I have had contacts with MKO via e-mail, although I took no action by the day of election (June 12),” he said during the first court hearing of those involved in the unrests on December 27. The detainee also admitted that he had attended the post-election frenzies on June 15-17, September 18, December 4 and December 27.  He also said that the MKO has equipped him with communication tools to document and forge unrests and report them to the headquarters of the terrorist group.

“I took photos of those injured or killed in the unrests and after developing them I provided those attending the demonstrations with these posters and photographs and asked them to use these pictures when marching.  “Then I captured these scenes on a video camera and sent them to the MKO” abroad, he said

The MKO has confirmed its role in Tehran’s recent unrests after it declared to the amnesty International that Iranian security forces arrested five members of the group after the frenzy on Ashoura day on December 27.  The terrorist group also announced that the five arrestees had come from their camp in Iraq’s Diyala province near Baghdad where they have resided since the 1980s.

…The anti-Iran terror group has been blacklisted as a terrorist organization by many international entities and countries, including the US.

The MKO is behind a slew of assassinations and bombings inside Iran, a number of EU parliamentarians said in a recent letter in which they slammed a British court decision to remove the MKO from the British terror list. The EU officials also added that the group has no public support within Iran because of their role in helping Saddam Hussein in the Iraqi imposed war on Iran (1980-1988). …The terrorist group joined Saddam’s army during the Iraqi imposed war on Iran (1980-1988) and helped Saddam and killed thousands of Iranian civilians and soldiers during the US-backed Iraqi imposed war on Iran.

2. kasab completely discredited by this point, so now everything he claims can be disregarded — like all that stuff he said about the corrupt police

Continuing his flip-flop, Pakistani gunman Ajmal Kasab on Monday told a special court trying the 26/11 attacks case that all the four terrorists who stormed Taj hotel were Indians. Kasab, whose statement is being recorded by the court on evidences adduced by the prosecution, told Special Judge M.L. Tahaliyani that while one of the terrorists of the Taj hotel siege was a Kashmiri, another was from Gujarat. Kasab claimed the third terrorist at Taj was Abu Ismail from Mumbai. According to prosecution, Ismail was gunned down at Girgaum Chowpatty by the police in an encounter when he along with Kasab was trying to escape. He, however, did not elaborate on the identity of the fourth terrorist at the Taj. The Pakistani terrorist has been making conflicting statements in the court. 3. al-shabaab linked to mayhem in Kenya

The Kenyan government now says members of Somalia’s militant Al-Shabaab group were involved in Friday afternoon’s protest, which left at least five people dead. Kenya’s Internal Security Minister, George Saitoti said there were people waving placards belonging to the group and they may have taken advantage of the situation to cause mayhem. He also said that an inquiry would be set up “to thoroughly investigate the violence and stern action taken against those involved.” He added, “We know that there are elements sympathetic to the Al-Shabaab and there may be some of them around here. We were watching very carefully since we knew that they wanted to create problems, but our own people were on the alert and did the best they could. Those elements had planned much bigger mayhem than what you saw yesterday,” Prof Saitoti pointed out.

…On Saturday, Prof Saitoti held a meeting with Muslim leaders where it was agreed unanimously that Al-Faisal should be deported as soon as possible from Kenya. “The man must leave this country as soon as possible. It is a matter of great insult that a foreigner would come to this country and be the source of terrible misunderstanding among Kenyans and lead to destruction of property and injury of people,” he stated. “Sheikh Al-Faisal entered the country on a tourist visa but attracted the attention of government officials when he started preaching messages of hatred.” He described the cleric as an undesirable element after being jailed in the United Kingdom for five years for preaching racial hatred and religious intolerance. “After serving a five year sentence up to 2007, he was subsequently deported to Jamaica. The preacher is on an international watch list of prohibited persons,” Prof Saitoti pointed out that Al-Faisal has even been banned from preaching in his own country of origin.

4. al-faisal trained terrorists to attack 2010 world cup?

A radical Jamaican cleric, Abdullah al-Faisal, who was recently deported from several African countries was operating a “suicide bomber camp” in Botswana, a publication has claimed.

Two young Botswana nationals are said to be under surveillance by law enforcement agencies after evidence emerged that they were at some point under the tutelage of al-Faisal. Abdullah al-Faisal was thrown out of Botswana “on suspicions that he was recruiting young Batswana to become suicide bombers”, the paper said.

According to The Sunday Standard the cleric had links with a Nigerian man who tried to bomb an American airline over the Christmas holidays. Abdullah al-Faisal, who is on an international list of suspected terrorists, was deported from Britain several years ago after preaching hatred against Jews, Hindus, and the West.

…During his stay in Bostwana, al-Faisal is believed to have conscripted young school drop outs “to become terrorists, targeting the FIFA World Cup scheduled to be held in neighboring South Africa by June this year” the paper claimed.

Born in St James, Jamaica, in 1963 under the name of Trevor William Forrest and raised as a Christian by parents who were very active in the Salvation Army, al-Faisal’s career as a terrorist couldn’t be more surprising. He is believed to have left for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the age of 16, where he obtained a degree in Islamic studies, after eight years, before returning to the United Kingdom.

5. that ground has been plowed — innocent people attending or playing sports attacked by terrorists — in the mainstream rags, recently

a. Togo footballers were attacked “by mistake” — Guardian UK

The opening ceremony of Africa’s most famous football tournament went ahead yesterday. Among the VIPs attending was Jacob Zuma, the South African president, intent on expressing his support for Angola ? and African football ? as organisers of Africa’s first World Cup came out fighting against attempts to conflate the Angolan instability with preparations in South Africa. The organisers warned against negative stereotyping of the entire continent, raising the issue of “Afro-pessimism”. Through a spokesman Zuma dismissed speculation that the incident raised questions over security for the World Cup in South Africa five months from now.

b. bomb takes heavy toll at Pakistan sports event - NYT

PESHAWAR, Pakistan — Taliban militants underscored their determination on Friday to prevent Pakistani citizens from forming armed militias to keep them at bay, as a suicide bomber rammed a truck loaded with hundreds of pounds of explosives into families and children crowded on a playground in the northwest….The strike was all the more devastating, as the bomber did not choose the most obvious target: a meeting under way of local leaders of the new militia. Instead, he drove his double-cabin pickup truck into the middle of a nearby playing field where teams were playing volleyball. The explosion collapsed homes surrounding the field.

turning the screws in Colorado

Several companies did very well in the latest Iraq oil auction, especially Russia and China. American companies…not so much.

A Petronas-Shell alliance got the highly coveted Majnoon (reserves of more than 12 billion barrels, projected output of 1.8 million bpd), near the Iranian border. Russia’s Lukoil (85%), with junior partner Statoil (15%), got phase 2 of the immense West Qurna (located 65 kilometers northwest of Basra; about 12 billion barrels of reserves; projected production of 1.8 million bpd) - which in theory it had already bagged under Saddam Hussein. When Lukoil was stripped of its contract by Saddam, it blamed US-instigated United Nations sanctions, while Saddam blamed Lukoil itself.

What the early 2010s will definitely see is the rise of a relatively wealthy, Shi’ite-controlled Iraq friendly with Iran and Lebanon’s Hezbollah. Essentially, Shi’ite Islam on the rise. The US-friendly autocracies and dictatorships in the Gulf will cry again, “It’s the return of the Shi’ite crescent!” United States think-tanks may be tempted to define Maliki as the new Saddam. The only difference is that by then, Cheney and company will be safely ensconced in the dustbin of history.

So, you know, people can debate whether the new power configuration in Iraq is an accident, but power configurations don’t happen by accident. They might look like accidents, but that means accidentally on purpose, in order to gas up the tank on the Hegelian Mindfuck Endless Conflict for Fun and Profit bus for another World Tour.

And so what if Dick Cheney doesn’t like it? That doesn’t mean somebody else isn’t loving it and planning to make a bloody fortune. These people are cut-throats and Dick had his turn, he’s out of power, and he can try as he might to throw his weight around still or maybe he should just go be his cold-blooded retired reptile self back in Wyoming and enjoy, if that’s the word, whatever life he has left, laying around on a stone wall or something, while his enemies fuck with the people of the world. Like I said, they take turns and his turn ended.

Speaking of people making bloody fortunes…this Lukoil might be worth watching as it connects back to some other topics of interest like oligarchs, diamonds, and Colorado. Yup! More Intersecting Circles. I’m sure Lev Leviev must be around here someplace…

Jul 23, 2009 (MENA News from Al-Bawaba via COMTEX) — Court documents and testimony, presented recently in the Colorado District Court in Denver, expose substantial new evidence that LUKoil has operated a significant business in the state.

The new evidence, secret until now, stretches back for ten years, and shows a flow of cash every month from an alleged front company in Colorado to a LUKoil company in Israel.

The evidence reinforces the likelihood that LUKoil and its Russian subsidiary, Arkhangelskgeoldobycha (AGD), will be ordered to face trial on charges of defrauding Archangel Diamond Corporation (ADC) of its rights to develop the Grib diamond mine project.

In addition to its stake in the future Grib diamond mine project, ADC’s biggest current asset is its US lawsuit against LUKoil. This claims recovery of $30 million in investment, $400 million in ADC’s share of profits, and another $800 million in potential profits.

The newly disclosed evidence appears in a transcript of court proceedings on May 12; the transcript was made available after diamond giant De Beers attempted to halt the court case, and put ADC into bankruptcy.

Jonathan Oppenheimer and Gareth Penny have been asked to explain why they appear determined to stop the legal proceedings against LUKoil and AGD, now that, according to the latest evidence, they are close to a judicial order to commence trial. They refuse to respond.

The new evidence was presented to District Judge Anne Mansfield by ADC’s lawyer, Bruce Marks, a specialist on Russian racketeering. Marks presented the judge with invoices, and claimed that since 1998 until the present, LUKoil has been using a local company called DS Engineering to bill thousands of dollars every month for engineering and other services performed for LUKoil.

DS Engineering, Marks said, was “nothing more than a pass-through account.” Cash was moved in both directions, he added - from Colorado to Moscow, and from Moscow to Colorado. Documents for one month, October 2001, showed $32,000 in cash invoiced and paid by LUKoil for running a variety of business operations in Colorado.

LUKoil’s attorney, Frederick Baumann, told the judge in the hearing “there is no contact whatsoever between the facts of the plaintiff s claims and the State of Colorado.”

Judge Mansfield disagreed. On May 12, she overruled LUKoil’s objections, and ordered that “LUKOIL shall produce all information and documents responsive to all ADC s interrogatories and requests for production

If the judge had dismissed ADC’s application, the court case would have had little chance of succeeding. However, the May 12 orders apply serious pressure on LUKoil either to disclose, and risk trial on the substance of ADC’s charges; or else to negotiate a settlement on ADC’s terms. This in turn has renewed the pressure on diamond giant De Beers to call off its attempt to liquidate ADC.

Well, to get serious (ahem), the oligarchs in question are Vagit Alekperov and Alisher Usmanov, as explained here this week by John Helmer.

Archangel Diamond Corporation (ADC) has re-emerged from a bankruptcy proceeding initiated earlier this year by De Beers, to launch new charges in the Colorado state court against Russian oil company LUKoil, and well-known Russian oligarchs, Vagit Alekperov (lead bearer) and Alisher Usmanov (2nd bearer).

ADC is now being directed by a group of minority stakeholders, led by US attorney Bruce Marks; former board director, Clive Hartz; and the Firebird Global Master Fund of New York, with a stake of about 18%. De Beers owns 56% of ADC’s shares.
The new filing was lodged in the Denver city and county court for Colorado on November 24. It charges LUKoil, one of Russia’s largest oil companies, with racketeering, fraud, unjust enrichment, and civil conspiracy. Set out in detail is an alleged scheme by which LUKoil used Colorado, local companies, and at least a dozen Colorado employees to smuggle large sums of cash into Russia. The scheme has been revealed in order to buttress ADC’s claims that the Colorado court has jurisdiction over LUKoil to try the 11-year diamond mine case.

The new court papers charge that from March 1999 until now LUKoil has used a Colorado front company, DS Engineering, as “the fulcrum of illegal cash smuggling schemes in which the Lukoil Colorado Employees carried cash from Colorado to Russia, in amounts averaging $40,000 per month, totaling over $6 million.
…In other words, DS Engineering paid millions of dollars to Lukoil Israel which it then billed Lukoil Israel for reimbursement. Upon information and belief, this “circle” of monies paid to Lukoil Israel for “services” was wired to a different bank account from which DS Engineering received payment from Lukoil Israel and may constitute some type of fraud. Upon information and belief, Lukoil Israel never provided DS Engineering any invoices or billings which provided any substantive description of the services purportedly provided for the more than $3 million which DS Engineering wired out to Lukoil Israel from its bank account in Colorado.”

…the Cash Smuggling Schemes involved over 25 Lukoil Colorado Employees making over 1,000 separate trips over a ten year period smuggling over $6 million.

Et cetera.

But, for the record, Lukoil does tie back to Lev Leviev. (Doesn’t everything?) Lukoil owned one of the two diamond suppliers that Leviev needed to secure for his consolidated diamond business.

12/07: Israeli entrepreneur Lev Leviev is planning to consolidate his Russian diamond interests, creating a vertically integrated mining, manufacturing, and retailing group which will be offered for public shareholding subscription. According to Leviev’s Moscow representative, Valery Morozov, the assets to be combined include the small alluvial mining concern, Uralalmaz; Ruis Diamonds, Leviev’s Moscow manufacturing plant; Kama Kristall, a smaller cutting plant in Perm; and the Moscow jewellery plant. …It is clearly in Leviev’s interest to assure his rough supplies by taking equity stakes in new Sakha mines, or in one of the two diamond projects in Arkhangelsk region - Lomonosov controlled by Alrosa, or Verkhotina controlled by LUKoil. He has made moves in each of these directions, and courted some well-known Russian asset raiders.

What does it mean? Damned if I know. Just noticing I guess. But if I were to venture a guess, and I’m not saying I am, it looks like some more interference with the oligarch business model.

Deliver us from Evil

The truth that many people never understand, until it is too late, is that the more you try to avoid suffering the more you suffer because smaller and more insignificant things begin to torture you in proportion to your fear of being hurt. - Thomas Merton, US religious author, clergyman, & Trappist monk (1915 - 1968)

A man writes:

I still find it difficult to get my head around the so-called civilized world’s reactions—or rather lack of them—over the treatment being méted out to the Palestinian people by the state of Israel (and ably assisted by the West). In fact, I find it inconceivable that the actions of the Zionist state—comparable to that of the Nazi’s treatment of Jews and other minorities—elicits only brief ‘news’ items from the Western media and rarely without its usual ‘embedded’ commentary that it reserves for the opponents of Israel. Overall, the impression is created of two equal, but opposite sides, F-16 fighter-bombers and helicopter gunships, billions of dollars worth of the most sophisticated weapons of destruction on the planet versus crude, home-made Hamas rockets for example.

It’s true. People don’t want to look at the suffering of the Palestinian people. It might be upsetting. It might cause some guilt or remorse. It might cause some discomfort for nice Jewish people if we rudely notice Israel’s barbarity against innocent children and expect someone to rise up in outrage but they just don’t for some reason and it cannot be explained so just don’t go there.

The same goes for those Iraqis whose country we destroyed. Don’t look at the poor children in their suffering. You might feel bad and have to rethink everything you thought you knew about this country and that would really piss you off but good so just don’t even bother to look and save yourself the trouble.

Because as everybody knows, recognizing the suffering of the Palestinians (or the Iraqis, or the Afghanis, or the Lebanese…) might cause suffering and discomfort to Israelis and Americans. Therefore, it is frowned upon.

“Why should we hear about body bags and deaths,” Barbara Bush said on ABC’s “Good Morning America” on March 18, 2003. “Oh, I mean, it’s not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?” Source

Don’t you understand? Racists believe that some people were created to suffer and others were not.

The idea that we are not all God’s children by reason of different belief systems was the starting point. Ergo, if you are not one of God’s children then you are less than human. It follows therefore that such creatures are not bound by our laws, they are little more than animals, or at best ‘children’ and hence do not fall under the protection of ‘God’s’ laws, they can be exploited just like any other product of Nature.

Thus explains the atrocities and ethnic cleansing orgies running through human history like a river of blood to this very day, as if nobody can ever be made to understand a thing and we are doomed to suffer forever and ever. Kill or be killed. Kill those other people so that we can protect what we have and thereby avoid suffering. This thinking is so stupid, and so old, and so ignorant, and so easily disproven with a very modest and sincere effort to seek the truth, that to still be living in a world of hate overwhelms God’s people with despair. And the racists feed on that, too, because they feel threatened by everyone, and especially by those who they suspect could live in peace, meaning God’s true people who are found in all times and places.

The little suffering the racists would endure by sacrificing their racist beliefs — beliefs held so dear that they would rather cling to them in self-righteousness than suffer remorse in humility — they will not pay that price. And they believe that God will preserve them from suffering in the end. It boggles the mind and belies their utter estrangement from God. Truly, people who foment war and steadfastly refuse to live in peace with their fellow human beings are the most miserable creatures on earth. It behooves us to pray for them, that God may touch them with profound regret before they rot in hell for all eternity.

The Price of Sanity is Now Happiness

Well here we are again. The seventh anniversary of the day of infamy. What can one say about today? Well, that really depends on where your mind has gone over the past seven years. I am going to keep this personal, and tell you how 9/11 has changed my life.

I used to be a happy person. When George Bush stole the 2000 election, I knew he was stealing and I knew things were bad. What the hell was the matter with people? How come they could not see through this man? Real men did not need to strut around like roosters and talk with an affected phony accent, but millions found this act charming. The destruction of the American mind, the withering away of our ability to discern reality, had already been sufficiently advanced to allow a complete and obvious impostor like GWB to be taken seriously. Of course, the corporate media shills moved mountains to make this happen. None of this could have happened without their constant facilitation, an unforgivable betrayal that will land many of them in the ninth circle of hell, where they belong.

Of course I believed that terrorists attacked us on 9/11, but I couldn’t bring myself to support Bush even then. He always creeped me out. Somehow I was immune to his wiles and knew we had to get rid of this guy in 2004. People were digging up the truth about his National Guard service and other lies, like the ones used to get us into Iraq; and many blatant lies were documented. But no. The cancer had spread. Republicans refused to hear the truth, and they became vicious in Bush’s defense.

Around that time I also began doing a little research into 9/11. Questions had been bubbling, but the commission had people that we thought we could trust, like John McCain. Surely, after being eviscerated by Rove’s machine, he would sidle up close to Bush and stick the shiv in. Wasn’t that what he was doing? How could he let these treacherous liars get away with it — all these dead Americans? McCain was a war hero. He would save us from Bush using his position on the 9/11 commission. Ha! Wrong again. He never did anything of the sort. On the contrary, he overlooked everything and tucked in nice and cozy.

One thing led to another, and I became hooked on finding out why nothing makes sense in this country. And I found out enough. Do I have the answers to every question? Certainly not, but I found out enough to know that we are ruined, and how, and by whom. I found out enough to know that I brought three children into this world and their future is bleak, and my heart is broken. I found out enough to understand why this country constantly talks about Israel, and Israel’s security, and what’s good for Israel. I found out enough to know that for just two or three percent of our population, Jewish people hold a truly amazing number of key government and corporate media jobs from which they shape both policy and narrative. I found out enough to know that this whole war on terror is a big cock-up designed to keep us at war because some people profit handsomely from death and destruction. I found out enough to know why the vast majority of Americans have to work harder and harder to maintain a declining standard of living. I found out enough to know that the official story of 9/11 makes no sense, and even if the truth movement has been littered with misinformation designed to discredit honest people, the official story still makes no sense and they obviously have much to hide. I found out enough to know that our Constitution no longer protects us, but our government doesn’t even have the balls to admit that we live in a dictatorship because they’re so greedy and cowardly they want everything for free, even unlimited power over the American people. And I found out enough to know that all these things are connected.

That’s what I did since 9/11/01. And now I am no longer happy. I ceased to be happy five years ago, and in fact, I live in a state of grim depression. But that is the sacrifice I made to understand, in an imperfect way, what has happened to our country. It is the price of living in reality. I am depressed, but I am sane. I am depressed because I am sane. And I encourage every American to start somewhere, and to start to apprehend the truth in all its depressing darkness, because that is the only way to honor all the people, and there are so many, who have been murdered as a result of this day seven years ago. It is the only way out of the growing insanity that we have become. The entire world watches in horror, wondering if we will emerge from the swoon in time or take the entire planet down in a final fit of insane delusion.

Some people need to be hit over the head with a cast iron frying pan.

In the past week we have all learned a few important things. Some of us have even been shocked.

1. Sy Hersh reveals that Cheney and friends met to discuss ways to trigger a war with Iran under false pretenses.

2. The anthrax story has got inside job stamped all over it.

3. New evidence emerges that the White House ordered a back-dated forged letter from the head of Iraqi intelligence to Saddam Hussein to portray a link between Hussein and al Qaeda.

The fact is these people lie to start wars. That’s what they do, and they have been caught.

At this point, we can actually set aside the monstrosity of 9/11. We can set aside every theory about why they lie to start wars, whether for money, power, Israel, the New World Order, or what have you. I mean, what difference does it really make? The 4,000+ American soldiers are still dead, as are the untold number of people killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. They all died because of lies. Not ‘mistakes.’ Not ‘misunderstandings.’ No. These are Lies. Premeditated, murderous Lies. That much we can ascertain. These are Conspiracy Facts.

So…it should be grimly amusing to listen to the Bush apologists this week, if you’re into that sort of thing. It would be interesting to know why exactly it’s OK to lie us into wars, or why these murderers should all be pardoned instead of sent to the Hague yesterday already, or why we should listen to one single thing out of their lying mouths about Iran or any other topic on God’s green earth.

Aren’t we done with these people yet?

Here is one life taken by the liars. Multiply by one million, and keep going.

When do they start to pay for their crimes?
