the sun, the clouds, the climate

Shorter theory:

The magnetic field of the sun regulates how many cosmic rays reach the earth.
The magnetic field of the sun varies over time.
Therefore, the number of cosmic rays reaching the earth varies over time.

Cosmic rays produce ions in the atmosphere — tiny aerosolized particles.
These ions — tiny aerosolized particles — allow water to condense and form clouds.

More cosmic rays make more ions make more clouds.

More clouds reflect more sunlight and cool the earth.

So the clouds are caused by the cosmic rays, which reach the earth based on the sun’s magnetic field.

Therefore the magnetic field of the sun regulates the earth’s climate.

According to this theory, which makes sense, cosmic rays and the sun drive climate, not you. Do a little happy dance.

Note the sourpuss faces at the IPCC when they saw the presentation (part 3). The scientists could not get the results published for sixteen months. The IPCC people say this is NONsense.

In 6 parts, h/t incoming.

Right now we appear to be in a cold period, based on our position vis-a-vis spiral arms of the Milky Way. These spiral arms can generate a five to ten degree variation in earth’s temperature. Five to ten degrees! That’s a lot.

So what are the particles they’re spraying into the atmosphere, which we know as chemtrails, that spread out and form clouds, which cool the planet, while they browbeat us senseless with this human-caused global warming crap?

Why do they do this? To make everything worse? To JUSTIFY their global warming carbon trading schemes?

serial killer: the firewall defense

George Bush, as governor of Texas, pardoned Henry Lee Lucas, a sadistic and prolific serial killer, in 1998.

Henry’s crimes were of a particularly brutal nature, involving rape, torture, mutilation, dismemberment, necrophilia, cannibalism, and pedophilia, with the number of victims running as high as 300-600 by some accounts - including Henry’s own, at times - though this figure is likely inflated. By all accounts though, Lucas, frequently working with partner Ottis Toole - a self described arsonist and cannibal - savagely murdered literally scores of victims of all ages, races, and genders.

…Henry, as it turns out, has some interesting stories to tell. In 1985, just a couple years into his incarceration, he attempted to tell his story in a book, written for him by a sympathetic author. The book, titled The Hand of Death: The Henry Lee Lucas Story, tells of Henry’s indoctrination into a nationwide Satanic cult. Lucas claimed that he was trained by the cult in a mobile paramilitary camp in the Florida Everglades in the fine art of killing, up close and personal. Other training involved abduction and arson techniques.

He further claimed that leaders of the camp were so impressed with Henry’s handling of a knife that he was allowed to serve as an instructor. Following his training, Henry claimed to have served the cult in various ways, including as a contract killer and as an abductor of children, who were then taken just over the border to a ranch in Mexico near Juarez. Henry has said that this cult operated out of Texas and from a ranch in northern Mexico, trafficking in children and drugs, among other nefarious pursuits. In essence, Henry claimed that what appeared to be the random work of a serial killer was in fact a planned series of crimes often committed for specific purposes.
Some of the murders were political hits, according to Henry, including the occasional assassination of foreign dignitaries. This was not true for all of Henry’s crimes. Some he did just because that’s what he liked to do. And it was the one thing that he was really good at.

…What are we to make of such stories? Could Henry have been telling the truth about being a contract killer? And if so, did the contracts he was receiving have some kind of government connection? Though Henry never broaches the subject in his book, the training camp as he describes it clearly had military connections. And Henry has explicitly stated that the cult included among its members various prominent persons, including high level politicians. Could this be the reason for the actions taken by Governor Bush in June of 1998?

Now that Colonel Williams has been arrested, will he be linked to other crimes? His arrest opens cold cases in three other provinces.

According to Larry Jones, the man who was initially suspected in Williams’ alleged home invasions and sexual assaults, police were looking for very specific items in the early days of their investigation. Jones, who lives next door to Williams on Cosy Cove Lane in Tweed, said that back when police were investigating him, they searched his home and produced a search warrant for La Senza bras, Jessica brand panties, computers, laptops and digital photography. Other reports say police were also looking for baby blankets and zip ties.

…Williams had been posted to the Shearwater base near Halifax, N.S., from 1992 to 1994, according to his biography posted on the Department of National Defence website until Tuesday afternoon. During that time frame, Andrea King, 18, Shelley Connors, 17, and Kimber Leanne Lucas, 24, were murdered. …Investigators will also look into the unsolved 2001 murder of 19-year-old Kathleen MacVicar in Trenton.

An FBI profiler suggests that whoever committed these murders has been active for a long time.

Torstar News Service asked Mark Safarik, one of the FBI’s serial-killer hunters with the famed Behavioral Analysis Unit, about the likelihood that crimes like that were the work of a first-time offender. After 22 years in the bureau, Safarik now operates a Virginia-based consultancy with Robert K. Ressler, the FBI investigator credited with popularizing the term “serial killer.”

After considering some of the published details, Safarik observes, “People don’t just wake up one day and say, ‘I’m going to abduct someone and murder them.’ I’m sure there’s a history.

“For me, the surprise is the number of assaults in a relatively short period of time,” Safarik says. “He’s obviously intelligent. He’s careful. So what’s happening with him? Is there some sort of mental decompensation? Did something trigger this?”

According to the profile of this sort of violent sex offender, “Usually there’s a progression,” Safarik says. “First, prowling, peeping, non-violent paraphilic (sexually deviant) stuff, voyeuristic activities. At some point, offenders decide that’s not enough. They’ll cross that line into fantasy fulfillment. He may have acted out with willing partners initially, prostitutes or others. And then that isn’t enough of a thrill, and he crosses over into non-compliant victims.”

The offender in the latest crimes sounds like someone at the mature end of that progression, Safarik believes. “He’s comfortable in the environment. He’s breaking in. He’s staying for long periods of time. He’s engaged in other activities – binding, photographing. That isn’t typically behaviour that just starts.”

Safarik suggested that, aside from other violent sex crimes, police will be looking for reports of unsolved “precursor” crimes in places where Williams has lived.

“I would be looking for cases where we tend to see sexual components that aren’t necessarily seen as sex crimes,” he says. “For instance, night-time burglaries where someone’s house is broken into but nothing is stolen. Or fetish-type burglaries, where they’re taking clothing.”

The search will be complicated by several factors, Safarik says. First, there’s Williams’ job.

“He’s in the military. That’s a problem. Not only has he moved around, the people around him have moved around.”

There’s also a massive time gap to fill in.

“I’d be checking back into his late teens. I’d probably start at age 18,” Safarik says. That would leave police poring over cold case files, many of them seemingly minor crimes, going back to the early ’70s.

“I’d be running the whole gamut, going deep into this guy’s history,” says Safarik. “I know that’s what they are doing.”

Indeed. OR, maybe people in our government already know all about William’s history. Maybe the idea that he is a “serial killer” is a limited hangout. If this “bright shining star” of a man, having been groomed for the highest levels of the military, and if he has been caught doing crimes that might link back to many other people in the power structure, that is going to require damage control. So if he’s a “serial killer,” that means he acted alone.

Safarik’s partner, Robert K. Ressler, knows just about everything there is to know regarding “serial killers.” You could say he wrote the book.

Actually, he did write the book, I Have Lived in the Monster: Inside the Minds of the World’s Most Notorious Serial Killers.

An account of Ressler’s Career in the FBI’s behavioral science unit, and his work pursuing the nation’s worst serial killers. Ressler was a cohort of John Douglas. Reading this book, and some of Douglas’ work, I am struck by how egotistical these guys are. I guess they have to be, to deal with the kinds of crimes they deal with.

Sometimes experts get that way.

According to Dave McGowan, the US military seeded embassies throughout the world with assassins, some of whom were culled from military prisons.

“A U.S. Navy psychologist, who claims that the Office of Naval Intelligence had taken convicted murderers from military prisons, used behavior modification techniques on them, and then relocated them in American embassies throughout the world … The Navy psychologist was Lt. Commander Thomas Narut of the U.S. Regional Medical Center in Naples, Italy. The information was divulged at an Oslo NATO conference of 120 psychologists from the eleven nation alliance … The Navy provided all the funding necessary, according To Narut.
“Dr. Narut, in a question and answer session with reporters from many nations, revealed how the Navy was secretly programming large numbers of assassins. He said that the men he had worked with for the Navy were being prepared for commando-type operations, as well as covert operations in U.S. embassies worldwide. He described the men who went through his program as ‘hit men and assassins’ who could kill on command. “Careful screening of the subjects was accomplished by Navy psychologists through the military records … and many were convicted murderers serving military prison sentences.”

…The intelligence community, it seemed, was recruiting from prisons to make use of the natural talents of convicted killers to produce the fabled ‘Manchurian Candidates’ - mind controlled assassins. This operation involved killers drawn from military prisons, though there is no reason not to suspect that parallel programs were being conducted in civilian prisons as well.

And that’s how, theoretically, someone like Henry Lee Lucas might get away with 600 murders. He’s just doing his job. Of course, there’s a lot more to it, because people in positions of authority need to look away at the appropriate times.
Lucas’ story then, as bizarre as it may appear to be, is certainly not without precedent. Other events that have transpired since Henry first began telling his tales of The Hand of Death lend further credence to various aspects of his story. For example, there is the issue of the cult-run ranch just south of the border. While this may have sounded rather far-fetched back in the early 1980’s, it certainly doesn’t today. In 1990, just such a ranch was excavated in Matamoros, Mexico, yielding the remains of over a dozen ritual sacrifice victims. While Ottis Toole - still alive at the time - noted that this was not the specific ranch with which he and Henry were associated, he also mentioned that there were numerous such operations in the area.
So closely did the Matamoros case parallel the stories told years before by Lucas that some law enforcement personnel in Texas chose to take a closer look at Henry’s professed cult connections. In fact, Jim Boutwell, sheriff of Williamson County, Texas later told a reporter that investigators had verified that Lucas was indeed involved in cult activities. And a decade later, yet another excavation was begun, this time at a ranch near Juarez, Mexico, which is precisely where Henry claimed it to be. This story made a brief appearance in the American press in December of 1999, until U.S. officials moved in to take over the investigation, after which coverage promptly ceased.

Juarez, Mexico, you may recall, is the very same city across the Texas border where “drug traffickers” stormed a party about a week ago and gunned down a couple dozen teenagers. Very little has been accomplished in this case, aside from a few arrests of people around the edges, lookouts and such.

You can read more about this phenomenon of sloppy police work and “untouchable” criminals in the UK, for instance, here and here.

If Williams is a “serial killer,” what would make him any different than Henry Lee Lucas? Intelligence.

Most good people are only aware of the least intelligent part of the evil distribution; those are the people who are obviously evil: criminals. (like Henry - ed.)

…What does an evil person of normal intelligence look like? Most people are very familiar with them. An evil person of normal intelligence is a person who makes life difficult, painful, and unpleasant for the good people around them. The supervisor who creates a crises at work by trying to pour a cup and a half of coffee into a cup and then requires everyone to work holiday’s and weekends to clean up the mess - is an example of an evil person of normal intelligence. What distinguishes such people from criminals is that they are quicker learners; they figure out what will happen to them if they pursue the sort of obvious evil things that the least intelligent of the evil spectrum do. Evil people of normal intelligence are careful to do their best to blend into good society.

Next up the ladder is the evil person of above average intelligence. These people have a similar goal to evil people of average intelligence; the production of human misery. However these people see the opportunity to do something that evil people of normal intelligence don’t see how to do; murder someone and get away with it. They understand that the way to murder someone and get away with it is to not care who they kill, how they kill them, or when they kill them. Such people set up conditions where someone will be ‘accidentally’ killed and wait for the circumstances to occur.

That leaves us those who are evil and of high intelligence. Most good people are also familiar with these kind of people; we call them leaders - both of industry and of government. It is the goal of such people to get away with mass murder.

Why would the idea of “serial killers” be useful to intelligence agencies?

  • to cover-up organized rings of Satanic crimes
  • to disguise the true motive of some contract killings
  • to create a climate of fear and terror
  • to eliminate undesirable members of society
  • to identify and use ‘violence-prone’ individuals as assets

Retired colonel Alain Pellerin is the executive director of the Conference of Defence Associations Institute and served in the army for 36 years. He said he had never heard of such a “strange” case. He compared notes with fellow long-serving military friends Monday….”I think it’s a local affair that will affect the population in Trenton because they knew him personally and people served under him. He was the base commander, after all. “But the rest of the people in the forces, it’s not related to the work, really, so it’s not something that will taint the armed forces negatively. There is a love affair between the population and the armed forces and I don’t think that will change. It’s really just one individual who’s accused of a serious crime.”

…combined with the “serial killer” idea, coming straight from Ressler’s firm, speak volumes.

UPDATE: An article here notes the curious dead-end of Williams’ history before 1987. It might be tough to complete a “serial killer” profile without the background information.
Jones said as he looks back, he really knew very little about his neighbour. He’s not the only one. In Williams’ biography, the military does not have any information prior to his joining the service in 1987. Other than the fact he attended the University of Toronto, there is little else. In fact, I have not been able to determine where he was born, where he grew up, if he has parents still living or siblings.

It will be very interesting to study where Williams has been because police sources tell me when it comes to criminal charges “there will be more.”

more utter BS on plane crash

1. Ethiopian plane ‘exploded’

BEIRUT - AN ETHIOPIAN jet which crashed off Lebanon’s coast last month exploded after take-off, Lebanon’s health minister said on Tuesday in the first such official comment since the mysterious crash.

Remarks by Jawad Khalifeh could not be immediately confirmed by other officials in Beirut and came as Ethiopian Airlines said one of the plane’s black boxes has been sent to France for analysis.

‘The plane exploded during flight and the cabin, as well as the bodies of those on board were dispersed into the sea, in different locations,’ Mr Khalifeh said to explain why some corpses were found dismembered. ‘The first bodies which have been retrieved following the crash were intact but after that, we began to find body pieces or mutilated corpses,’ he told reporters.

Transport Minister Ghazi Aridi refused to comment on the reported explosion. ‘I have no information about this,’ he told AFP.

2. pilot error pilot error pilot error….based on info from the black box, which we just recovered and sent to France, and which will not reveal it’s secrets for months and months…. but trust us it was pilot error that caused the plane to explode.

A judicial committee at the ministerial level met Wednesday to discuss future strategy and progress made in the search for more victims of the Ethiopian plane crash as a source close to the investigation into the disaster said the jet crash was caused by a pilot error.

“The investigation team has reached an early conclusion that it was pilot error, based on information from the black box,” the source told Reuters.

The team made up of Lebanese, French and Ethiopian officials headed to France Monday with one of the two black boxes for analysis.

Lebanese army marine divers pulled the flight recorder from the plane crash site off the coastal town of Naameh on Sunday.

Information Minister Tareq Mitri said following Wednesday’s judicial meeting that Lebanon has not received any official information about contents of the black box.

Ethiopian Airlines Flight 409 crashed in a fireball minutes after takeoff from Beirut airport early in the morning of Jan. 25.

The Boeing 737-800 plane with 90 people on board plunged into the sea off Naameh south of the airport in stormy weather.

Lebanese officials had blamed the pilot for failing to follow instructions from the control tower.

Defense Minister Elias Murr had said that a command tower recording shows the tower told the pilot to turn to avoid the storm, but the plane went in the opposite direction.

“We do not know what happened or whether it was beyond the pilot’s control,” he added.

Transportation Minister Ghazi Aridi had in turn said the control tower sent the pilot a second warning when he failed to heed the first one.

“The pilot, however, continued to fly the same route, then he made a sudden, strange turn before disappearing from the radar,” Aridi said on the day of the plane crash.

It was not clear why the pilot ignored the control tower or perhaps it was beyond his control. Being 737, like most other airliners, also is equipped with its own onboard weather radar which the pilot may have used to avoid flying into cumulonimbus, which is a rounded mass of cumulus cloud often appearing before a thunderstorm.

scarcity: the devil’s game

The Haitians have hydrocarbons:

Behind the smoke, rubble and unending drama of human tragedy in the hapless Caribbean country, a drama is in full play for control of what geophysicists believe may be one of the world’s richest zones for hydrocarbons-oil and gas outside the Middle East, possibly orders of magnitude greater than that of nearby Venezuela.

And the Palestinians have hydrocarbons:

The military invasion of the Gaza Strip by Israeli Forces bears a direct relation to the control and ownership of strategic offshore gas reserves. This is a war of conquest. Discovered in 2000, there are extensive gas reserves off the Gaza coastline.

Russian and Ukrainian scientists discovered something very important more than half a century ago.

It is critical to note that, more than half a century ago, a group of Russian and Ukrainian geophysicists, working in state secrecy, confirmed that hydrocarbons originated deep in the earth’s mantle under conditions similar to a giant burning cauldron at extreme temperature and pressure. They demonstrated that, contrary to US and accepted Western ‘mainstream’ geology, hydrocarbons were not the result of dead dinosaur detritus concentrated and compressed and somehow transformed into oil and gas millions of years ago, nor of algae or other biological material.[6]
The Russian and Ukrainian geophysicists then proved that the oil or gas produced in the earth’s mantle was pushed upwards along faults or cracks in the earth as close to the surface as pressures permitted. The process was analogous to the production of molten lava in volcanoes. It means that the ability to find oil is limited, relatively speaking, only by the ability to identify deep fissures and complex geological activity conducive to bringing the oil out from deep in the earth. It seems that the waters of the Caribbean, especially those off Cuba and its neighbor Haiti, are just such a region of concentrated hydrocarbons (oil and gas) that have found their way upwards close to the surface, perhaps in a magnitude comparable to a new Saudi Arabia.[7]
Geopolitics revolves around extracting, moving and controlling natural resources like hydrocarbons, minerals, and precious metals.
The peak oil psyop — SCARCITY, FEAR — has been used to JUSTIFY military intervention to control oil assets…..because otherwise our economy will collapse and we’ll all die. I used to believe it myself.
How many people have died over that one lie, in a half a century?
This comes down to the banking system, again, and the people who control the banking system, and their murderous desire to remain in control at all costs. Because, at present, all oil must be purchased with US dollars. (Correction: Iran sells oil in Euros and other currencies. See how troublesome they are?! -ed.) And the US dollar fiat currency has reached it’s mathematical limits and needs to be replaced with a new fiat currency, falling under the same people’s control.

In the early seventies, OPEC was formed and then massively increased the price of oil over the following years. The major oil companies (and their client governments) rolled over without much fuss at all and accepted the new staus quo. There were no invasions. I remember being surprised at the time and the answer to the riddle came along in due course. The oil majors (who, remember, are owned by the major banking families) made a deal with the Saudis (and the other OPEC nations followed) to only sell their oil through the oil “bourses” in London and New York and the sales to be denominated in US dollars. This neat trick meant that the major banks could issue huge amounts of dollars (out of thin air) as loans to the value of the world’s oil sales because everyone now needed to get the US$ before they could get the oil. This is how the US dollar was cemented in place as the reserve currency of the world. And this is how, too, they have been able to deliberately dismantle the US domestic economy over the last thirty years through globalisation (thank you Milton Freidman!) and not see the value of the US dollar plummet. This is how the US has financed its huge military buildup. It would have not been possible otherwise. It has been able to spend, spend, spend all this new found wealth from the interest gained from the vast loans as well as spending the money outright. It may take a while to get your head round this but, believe me, it really is as simple as its sounds.

Perhaps now you will see new meaning in Saddam Hussein’s selling of oil in currencies other than the US$ which he started shortly before he (and all Iraqis) came to grief. This accounted for the timing of the war as well as its raison d’etre. Perhaps you will extend that new meaning to encompass Iran’s decision to do likewise. Not only has this threatened the viability of the US’s continued military dominance (it buys from all over the world with its currency backed by others oil), but just as importantly, it threatens the introduction and viability of their projected New World Order currency. This makes Iran target number one. If the US and these bankers can’t control or own Iran’s oil, they must, at least, stop them from selling it in anything other than $US for the moment and the OWC in the future. Bombing their oil fields and have the Iranians block the Straits of Hormuz in retaliation would achieve that just fine.

But that would be a temporary solution. What is needed really is complete control of Iran. This same scenario applies to Russia as well. [and Haiti, Palestine... - ed.] The oil fields need to be under the international bankers control before the OWC can be introduced. Time is running out. This juggernaut has been put in motion and they cannot afford to stop it in mid stride for fear the whole plot, hatched over decades (if not longer), will collapse.

So they have to maintain and enhance their control over oil before they can effect this switch to a new fiat currency. Large oil supplies like Haiti’s must come under their control, but they didn’t have a good excuse for invading Haiti, and they don’t necessarily want people knowing about the oil there. That wouldn’t look good. Conveniently, the “earthquake” JUSTIFIED descending upon and reorganizing Haiti. Similarly, something will have to JUSTIFY the continued abuse of the Palestinians in Gaza. And something will have to JUSTIFY an attack on Iran. The options narrow by the day. I think they will be forced to do a false flag, and I hope that their evil plans blow up in their faces before another innocent person has to die for all this greed.

former bigshots can say the most outrageous things

Also, there’s no transcript of these remarks anywhere (yet), but allegedly a former chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Klaus Naumann, claimed at Herzliya that in half an hour NATO forces will obliterate any country which have used nuclear weapons against another country.

That doesn’t leave any time for confirmation.

So how does that work in a false flag? Can NATO “obliterate” a country by accident? Accidentally on purpose???? You know I don’t think the usual REGRETS will cut it.

1. IPCC officials admit mistake over melting Himalayan glaciers

The UN’s climate science body has admitted that a claim made in its 2007 report - that Himalayan glaciers could melt away by 2035 - was unfounded.

The admission today followed a New Scientist article last week that revealed the source of the claim made in the 2007 report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was not peer-reviewed scientific literature – but a media interview with a scientist conducted in 1999. Several senior scientists have now said the claim was unrealistic and that the large Himalayan glaciers could not melt in a few decades.

In a statement (pdf), the IPCC said the paragraph “refers to poorly substantiated estimates of rate of recession and date for the disappearance of Himalayan glaciers. In drafting the paragraph in question, the clear and well-established standards of evidence, required by the IPCC procedures, were not applied properly.”

It added: “The IPCC regrets the poor application of well-established IPCC procedures in this instance.” But the statement calls for no action beyond stating a need for absolute adherence to IPCC quality control processes. “We reaffirm our strong commitment to ensuring this level of performance,” the statement said.

2. also — the decision to use adjuvanted H1N1 vaccines — that didn’t work out so well either — BIG PHARMA TRIES TO COVER ITS BIG PHARMA ASS

Analyst: Adjuvanted H1N1 vaccines helped stir Europe’s debate

Robert Roos * News Editor

Jan 15, 2010 (CIDRAP News) – The use of adjuvanted vaccines, an unfamiliar technology, [????? SINCE WHEN ARE ADJUVANTS AN UNFAMILIAR TECHNOLOGY???? ONLY SINCE PEOPLE CAUGHT ON TO THE DANGER OF ADJUVANTS???? - ED.] helped spark mistrust that may have contributed to the recent allegations in Europe that pharmaceutical companies manipulated governments and international agencies by hyping the H1N1 pandemic threat, according to a British market analyst who follows infectious disease issues.

Some members of the 47-nation Council of Europe’s Parliamentary Assembly have proposed a resolution charging that pharmaceutical companies, aiming to boost vaccine and drug sales, worked to “alarm” governments about the pandemic and prompt them to waste money on inefficient vaccine strategies and expose people to inadequately tested vaccines.

National and international health officials, along with the World Health Organization, have vigorously denied the allegations, which will come before the council on Jan 26.

Hedwig Kresse, MPhil, MSc, a London-based senior analyst on infectious diseases at the independent market analysis firm Datamonitor, said today the decision to use adjuvanted vaccines might have contributed to the controversy in Europe. She also said that when H1N1 emerged, it was the press and government officials, not pharamaceutical companies, that voiced alarm and pushed for a vaccine.

Off to a bad start
“I think in Europe the entire pandemic vaccine supply situation got off to a bad start because European regulators opted for adjuvanted vaccines, which resulted in a lot of negative publicity across Europe” and reduced the public’s interest in getting vaccinated, Kresse told CIDRAP News.

In the United States, she noted, authorities decided not to use adjuvants (which have never been used in US flu vaccines) and to stick with the standard technologies that have been used in seasonal flu vaccines for many years, she noted. (The US government bought a supply of adjuvants for possible emergency use but has not used them.)

“It wasn’t the same kind of debate as in Europe,” she said. “That led to a bigger acceptance of the vaccine.”

The pandemic H1N1 vaccines approved in Europe are GlaxoSmithKline’s Pandemrix, containing the adjuvant ASO3, and Novartis’s Focetria, which contains the company’s MF59 adjuvant. [SQUALENE - ED.] Also approved in Europe is Baxter’s Celvapan, which contains no adjuvant but is made in cell culture, a newer technology, rather than in eggs.

Kresse noted that one adjuvanted flu vaccine, Novartis’s Fluad, was approved in Europe back in 1997, but it is used only in the elderly.

Since most Europeans were unfamiliar with adjuvanted flu vaccines, “it was a new technology and there was no long-term record regarding reactogenicity,” Kresse said. “And since H1N1 has so far been a clinically mild pandemic, it just didn’t seem logical to a lot of people that you needed this new technology. So a lot of people saw it as an unnecessary risk to take.”

The safety record of the European vaccines has been good so far, Kresse said. She said they cause a slightly higher rate of local reactions, such as pain and itching, and possibly a higher rate of fever, than flu vaccines with no adjuvants. “I’m not aware of any major safety concerns in Europe,” she added.

H5N1 threat set stage for adjuvants
Kresse noted that pandemic vaccine efforts in Europe were predicated on the H5N1 avian flu virus. Vaccine versions of this virus have grown poorly in eggs and have been poorly immunogenic. As a result, she said, the general view has been that adjuvants are needed to make H5N1 vaccines work.

Manufacturers developed mockup vaccines based on H5N1, with adjuvants, with the understanding that when a pandemic emerged, the pandemic virus could replace the H5N1 and the vaccine could gain rapid regulatory approval.

Concerning the charge that vaccine manufacturers hyped the pandemic threat to boost their profits, Kresse said it doesn’t fit her perception of how things evolved.

“I think these questions have to be treated very, very carefully,” she said. “Without a doubt the pharmaceutical companies did benefit from the pandemic. But when I look back, it was more the government and the press” that talked a lot about the threat and pressed for a vaccine. “It was more the pharmaceutical companies being on the receiving end and being asked to deliver it as fast as they possibly could.”

She said it seems unlikely that the current controversy would make drug companies unwilling to produce pandemic vaccines in the future, but she wouldn’t rule out that type of outcome.

“If it really comes to a very nasty public discussion and results in a big loss of reputation for the pharmaceutical companies, then it’s another matter,” she commented. “Then as a company I might calculate very carefully what I’d gain and lose in terms of reputation.”

On the other hand, she said it’s unlikely that companies would completely withdraw from pandemic supply efforts: “There’s a very vital political interest in keeping the sector attractive for pandemic supplies.”

Tommy Thompson defends US vaccine efforts
Also today, former US Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Tommy Thompson added his voice to those defending the pandemic vaccine programs, saying it would be a terrible outcome if critics succeeded in scaring companies away from vaccine development. Thompson served as HHS secretary through President George W. Bush’s first term.

In a telephone interview, Thompson, now a senior partner in the Washington, DC, law firm Akin Gump, said the nation’s preparedness for disease outbreaks has improved and that the progress must be maintained.

“In the past we’ve not been prepared and we haven’t had companies that wanted to be in the vaccine business,” he said. For the first time in our long history, we’ve got companies that are interested in preparing vaccines for flu. . . . The worst thing in the world would be to say this was contrived and therefore scare away vaccine companies from getting scientists to do research on infectious viruses.”

As for the assertion that the pandemic threat was exaggerated, Thompson said, “The only way to prove our concerns beyond a reasonable doubt is to have a lot of people die, and I don’t know anyone who’s advocating more lethality from flu viruses.”

“You’re always going to have critics, but people in the scientific community believe we’re doing the right thing and I certainly believe that,” he added. “I think it was the right thing to do, to get started down this path, and I’m glad that it continues to be expanded.”

He also commented that while the H1N1 virus is not as lethal as was feared, the pandemic may not be over and the virus could mutate into a more dangerous form.

3. Glaxo offers free access to potential malaria cures

The chief executive of the world’s second biggest pharmaceutical company will today announce that he is putting into the public domain thousands of potential drugs that might cure malaria.

Andrew Witty, the British boss of Glaxo-SmithKline, will say in a major speech that multinational drug companies have to balance social responsibility alongside the need to make profits for their shareholders. There is, he will say, an “imperative to earn the trust of society, not just by meeting expectations but by exceeding them”.

…”I think they’re just nervous. I don’t think they have crossed … I crossed the bridge a year ago … that you can have a [different] approach to the way you think about intellectual property and openness in an area like neglected tropical diseases. big meeting in Haiti - with updates

The disaster in Haiti compounds long-running disasters already in progress, and known to authorities.

If you’re a child born to poor parents in Haiti, chances are your career options are slave, slave, or slave. That’s because approximately 225,000 children in Haiti live in situations of modern-day slavery. That’s nearly a quarter million child slaves in one country. The existence of Haitian child slaves, often referred to as restaveks, has been documented for a long time. However, this is the first time the scope of the issue has truly been understood to be so large.Restaveks are usually children from extremely poor families who are sent away to work as domestic servants in wealthier homes. The children aren’t paid for their work, but provided shelter and a sometimes meager meal supply. In the best case scenarios, families will send their restavek children to school. But restaveks often work long days performing a variety of household tasks for nothing more that a meal or two a day. Two-thirds of restaveks are girls, and they are extremely vulnerable to rape and sexual abuse from the families who house and control them. The life of a restavek child in Haiti often varies between bleak and hopeless, and many children never successfully leave their slave conditions.

What happens to poor children, orphaned children, slave children when chaos strikes? Well, one would hope they get rescued but that’s not what happens. Because these problems are never meant to be resolved. People in authority don’t actually resolve problems, even when they know about them. They can’t, you see. They’re not supposed to.

In 2002 the BBC reported on a UN report about child trafficking in Haiti.

Thousands of Haitian children are being smuggled into the Dominican Republic each year and forced to beg or work as manual labourers, according to a United Nations report. About 2,500 minors, some as young as five-years-old, are brought into the country illegally, the report’s authors found. Traffickers on either side of the shared border smuggle the youngsters into the Dominican Republic to work as farm hands, construction workers and street peddlers.

A year ago The Guardian conducted an investigation and reported more disturbing details about trafficking in Trinidad and Tobago, not all so far away:

PORT OF SPAIN: Sunday December 21 2008, The Guardian newspaper of Trinidad published a disturbing report in which it alleges that human traffickers are on the prowl, looking to lure children and women to sell them for big money. The report states that “children, because they live longer, are sold for over $200,000. Adults can fetch as much as $100,000. They are mostly used as sex slaves and sometimes for slave labour. “Sometimes, they are used to make pay-offs in the drug trade — a well placed source informed the Sunday Guardian.” The report stated that men owing drug lords are being lured into capturing humans, who will be sold for payment of their debts. A source, pleading for anonymity for fear of his life, said victims were drugged almost immediately after capture and their cellphones switched off.

A Sunday Guardian investigation revealed that the lucrative human trafficking ring is operating in the Cascade/St Ann’s area, between Sangre Grande and Tunapuna, Diego Martin and in South. Women have mysteriously disappeared from the Cascade area without a trace during the past year and “several straying young boys have vanished from the streets of San Fernando“.

The report further stated that the clandestine local trade, which operates through a well organised network and is supported by several powerful agencies, is linked to an international human trafficking ring.

Even some policemen are convinced that there is a human trafficking ring in Trinidad and they suspect that a number of missing persons have been victims of the trade, but were reluctant to say more. According to the newspaper report, “fingers are pointing at a popular businessman, who has been described as the ‘big man’ in the human trade.” “He’s popular. He is also linked with other businessmen across the country.”

The information was unearthed by a local resident after a female relative went missing several months ago. The man said his family, desperate for answers, launched their own investigation with the support of a police officer and local private investigators.

The Attorney General of Trinidad and Tobago denied these reports, citing lack of evidence.

The Guardian newspaper reported that she said there is “no empirical evidence to show the existence of human trafficking… it must be noted, however, that T&T was part of a world which was shrinking in size through the effects of globalisation.”

Where does the evidence go? What is the evidence? People are evidence. If the people are being trafficked, then it stands to reason that to find the evidence, one must find the trafficked people. But where do they go?

This, of course, gets to the heart of the problem. Because obviously, if we have rich and powerful people feeding poor and powerless human beings into an organized international trafficking ring, the empirical evidence will always go missing. That’s the point! The people — the evidence — just “disappear,” to be used up and sacrificed in whatever evil manner suits those who purchase them. With the judicious application of money or blackmail in key spots — airport security, customs, judges, police, social services, etc. — the problem can go on forever and ever and ever. Nobody will ever be able to solve it, since the people/evidence disappear and are eventually discarded. And if anyone accuses the powerful people involved of human trafficking, he or she will never be believed, or else he or she might have an unfortunate accident.

One might also note the Jamaican al Qaeda terrorist al-Faisal, who has most conveniently appeared bar-hopping in Africa. Of course he has been linked to the underpants bomber, and is on an international list of suspected terrorists, but that doesn’t seem to slow him down much.

Born in St James, Jamaica, in 1963 under the name of Trevor William Forrest and raised as a Christian by parents who were very active in the Salvation Army, al-Faisal’s career as a terrorist couldn’t be more surprising. He is believed to have left for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the age of 16, where he obtained a degree in Islamic studies, after eight years, before returning to the United Kingdom.

Hahaha, no it “couldn’t be more surprising.” Good one. But the show is moving to The West, via the Caribbean. The Caribbean will link Africa, Europe, Asia, Russia, the Middle East, drugs, terrorism. Human trafficking we don’t discuss, that is taboo. All these other things will be discussed, in the context of dangers to The Good People of The West.

From a 2005 report:

Security threats emanating from the Caribbean Basin typically revolve around its position as a key trans-shipment point for South American narcotics to the United States and Europe, as well as illegal immigration, money laundering, and other forms of banking and document fraud. Indeed, organized criminal networks from as far away as Western and Eastern Europe, Russia, and Asia, in addition to U.S. and South American organizations, have a formidable presence in the region.

In the wake of the September 11 attacks, however, many observers began to look at the region’s potential as a base of operations for radical Islamist terrorist organizations such as al-Qaeda to stage attacks against the U.S. and its interests in the Western Hemisphere. Upon cursory examination, the region’s geographic proximity to the U.S., porous borders, widespread poverty and endemic corruption, energy reserves, not to mention the tens of thousands of Americans and Europeans who vacation there at any given time of the year, make it an attractive target.

Unfortunately, a cursory examination is all that is ever required to weave a plausible narrative. In fact, the examination must remain cursory at all times. No digging around please. Cass Sunstein does not approve of conspiracy theories. It would be rude to notice that the best and the brightest know all about the links between international organized crime — drug trafficking, arms trafficking, people trafficking and money laundering — and they can get together and have important meetings to discuss coordinating policies and strengthen regional cooperation blah blah BLAH (and wink wink wink), and they have every resource imaginable at their disposal, but nothing ever gets solved. http://www.un.org/apps/news/storyAr.asp?NewsID=8906&Cr=human&Cr1=

17 November 2003Latin American and Caribbean countries will discuss how to combat the practice of trafficking in people later this week during a three-day conference organized by the United Nations. The UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has arranged the summit, to be held in Bogotá from Wednesday, through its country offices in Colombia and Ecuador as it fights the disturbing rise in human trafficking in the region.

The conference is expected to focus on finding ways to strengthen regional collaboration and developing agreements for better international judicial and police cooperation, according to a statement issued today by the UN Information Service in Vienna.

UNODC says indicators show that international organized crime, especially drug trafficking, arms trafficking and money laundering, is closely linked to trafficking in people. The reasons for trafficking can vary from forced labour to sexual exploitation.

The summit will be attended by experts and government officials from across Latin America and the Caribbean, as well government officials from Sweden and the Czech Republic, UNODC officials from Africa and Asia, the International Organization for Migration and academics in the field.

And so, as they all rush down to Haiti, all these trusty experts from all over the world, and proceed to tell us to keep sending money and at the same time we hear how difficult it is for the aid to get delivered to the people in need. I’m sorry but are you fucking kidding me? Is it not the same in Every Single Disaster??? THE SAME???? All this rush of people and money to the desperate people in need, and somehow, the experts can never figure out how to make it all come together on the ground? It is as if they never learn anything, and each disaster is the first disaster, and they are surprised that the roads are blocked with debris and there are bottlenecks. But please send more money. And the people of course, reduced to survival mode, do what they need to do to survive, and then we hear about the looting and the rioting? Tsk tsk tsk. Yes, of course, chaos.

That’s the narrative. It’s all so unfortunate, but no one in authority is ever to blame.

One might find alternative explanations, but Cass Sunstein would not approve.

We see in Haiti a suitable environment to take advantage, to have meetings and coordinate policies and strengthen regional cooperation for the international crime syndicate.

UPDATE: Actual “big meeting” takes place, with stunning proposals like this:

Fernandez also proposed the rehabilitation of the maritime and aerial ports of Haiti handle the humanitarian aid.

Yeah. GOOD idea. Somebody should get on that right away.

Attending parties at the pre-summit include: Dominican Republic’s President Leonel Fernandez and the representatives of Bahamas, Barbados, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Dominica, Spain, Jamaica, United States, Mexico and Trinidad and Tobago, reps from the World Bank, the Inter American Development Bank, the Community of the Caribbean, the International Red Cross, the UN, the OAS and the European Union, and Haitian President Rene Preval. The actual summit will be January 25 in Montreal, “to evaluate the work plans drafted by the United Nations (UN) and Organization of American States (OAS) in Haiti.”

Proposals and evaluations.

UPDATE: Haiti quake creates thousands of new orphans. Officials can’t even venture a number and they sure as heck don’t know what to do with them all.

Tens of thousands of children have been orphaned by the earthquake, aid groups say - so many that officials won’t venture a number. With so many buildings destroyed and growing chaos in the capital, it is conceivable that many children are alone.

…In the meantime, U.N. humanitarian chief John Holmes said the United Nations is establishing a group whose mission on the ground in Haiti will be to protect children - orphans and non-orphans alike - against trafficking, kidnapping and sex abuse.

Oh geez, it’s too bad the UN didn’t know about all these problems sooner otherwise they could have some programs up and running already. Oh WAIT A SECOND….

UPDATE: Haiti takeover by “Uncle Sam”

Thousands of American soldiers have poured into Port-au-Prince airport since US President Barack Obama announced he was ordering a “swift and aggressive” campaign to help millions of Haitians left homeless by last week’s 7.0 magnitude earthquake. Six days after the quake, however, precious little aid is getting beyond the airport perimeters — largely because of security concerns — and aid agencies with long experience of operating in disaster zones have complained that their flights in are being blocked unnecessarily.

there’s only one word to describe this sort of thing

In the UK, over half of the scientists on SAGE have ties to drug companies. These scientists advise the UK government on the swine flu pandemic.

Many have declared interests in GlaxoSmithKline, the vaccine maker expected to be the biggest beneficiary of the pandemic….Official documents show some members are linked to vaccine manufacturer Baxter and to Roche, which makes Tamiflu….They were not obliged to declare the amounts they earned but they are thought to range from around £500 for a lecture or presentation to more than £100,000 for a directorship of GSK. Some will simply be heads of university research departments which received funding from companies.

Some months back I covered the circular reasoning used to defend one of these scientists, Sir Roy Anderson:

Considering that the Taxpayers’ Alliance makes the charge, it seems that the UK government definitely pays Sir Roy to serve on the Sage task force drawing up action plans for the virus. Even if it’s a token amount, the real lucre comes from driving the government contracts to GlaxoSmithKline.

The Department of Health and GSK denied there was a conflict and said Sir Roy did not attend Sage meetings where vaccines and drugs were discussed. Sir Roy was appointed to Sage to ‘provide cross-government scientific advice regarding the outbreak of swine flu’. He was one of the first UK experts to call the outbreak a pandemic.

So here we see that the Department of Health and GlaxoSmithKline band together to defend Sir Roy on that basis that he sits out the meetings where drugs are discussed. The conclusion the reader shall draw being, presumably, that he has no influence on those decisions. However, in the next breath we learn that he is exceedingly influential. That’s why he’s on the task force in the first place! And in fact, he was one of the first UK experts to promote the outbreak to a pandemic! Later on in the story we learn more of his amazing, deadly influence:

During the 2001 foot and mouth outbreak, Sir Roy’s advice to Tony Blair led to the culling of more than 6 million animals.

Ahh, a powerful man indeed. Theoretically he could stop someone in the hallway after one of these meetings and “advise” them to choose a GSK drug… But listen, he is a man with both scrupulous ethics and impeccable timing!

A spokesman for GSK insisted there was no conflict of interest. ‘Professor Anderson stepped down from the government’s flu advisory group on appointment to GSK. ‘In May, he was asked to rejoin as a temporary member as the scale of the influenza pandemic became evident.

He stepped down from Sage after joining GSK but was asked to rejoin after the scale of the influenza pandemic became evident! And he, of course, as we already learned, was one of the first UK experts to call the outbreak a pandemic, a fact cited to prove his suitability for Sage, which resulting pandemic thereby facilitated his being asked to rejoin Sage. But since he very properly resigned first, it’s all good. See?

But all this logic appears to be very upsetting to the important people at the WHO. They take umbrage at charges that the vaccine manufacturers improperly influenced their decision making process or that they exaggerated the threat of the virus. People who make such scurrilous charges simply misunderstand the planning process.

Keiji Fukuda, MD, special adviser to the WHO director-general on pandemic flu, told reporters at a press briefing that the WHO welcomes constructive criticism, but said charges of a “false pandemic” by a group of European officials led by Dr Wolfgang Wodarg, a German physician who chairs the Council of Europe’s health committee, are “scientifically wrong and historically inaccurate.”

Wodarg and 13 others charged in a proposed resolution that pharmaceutical company pressure on the WHO and member countries have led governments to waste healthcare resources and expose their citizens to insufficiently tested vaccines. The action comes as several European countries are cutting back on their vaccine orders because of weak demand, ebbing flu activity, and the need for just one dose per person.

In a related development, the European Vaccine Manufacturers (EVM), a trade group that represents companies such as GlaxoSmithKline, MedImmune, Novartis, and Sanofi, today in a statement rejected the Wodarg group’s allegations. “EVM believes that the assertions in this motion are unfounded and result from a misunderstanding of the pandemic planning process and the collaboration between public and private sector partners,” the group wrote.

…In its statement today, the EVM pointed out that governments have been working on pandemic preparedness plans for more than a decade and that other public health partners have been encouraged to respond to the risk of a pandemic.

The EVM said governments have asked the pharmaceutical industry to invest in vaccine research and development, conduct clinical studies, modify production facilities to make pandemic vaccine, and expand manufacturing capacity.

See? Governments ASKED them to do all this stuff. What were they going to do, say no? No we don’t want all this work. No thanks. ??? What are you nuts?

No, see, they collaborated. They were all in it together. Governments and big pharma. Together. One big happy family.

The pandemic declaration in the summer of 2009 called for clear action, the group wrote. “This demanded an unprecedented level of collaboration, involving WHO, national governments, health authorities, regulatory agencies, scientists, healthcare professionals, and private sector companies to facilitate a robust response and deliver the appropriate countermeasures.”

BUT!!! Having said that, there was never any conflict of interest, ok? Never. Anyway, from January 25-27 a lot of important people will be at the annual North American Vaccine Forum in Washington DC, where they can be a big happy family together and talk about all the ways to make money developing new vaccines!

Building on the resounding success of the last 7 North American Vaccine Forums, the 2010 event will once again provide a highly valuable meeting place for senior level industry and public sector figures driving the development of novel prophylactic and therapeutic vaccines.

The 3 day conference program will feature a mixture of business, regulatory and scientific topics, with speakers drawn from big pharma/biotech, the regulators and and vaccine developers themselves. Breakout sessions, workshops and panel discussions combine to make the event highly interactive.

In 2010, the Washington Vaccine Forum will once again run concurrently with Phacilitate’s annual Cell & Gene Therapy Forum. Participants will be able to select the conference agenda of greatest current value to themselves and their organization, with all networking opportunities shared between the two events. Breakfast and lunch buffets, extended refreshment breaks and evening receptions will all take place in the shared exhibition area.

“Excellent. The best”

Dr Michael Balady, Acting Deputy Director, Medical Countermeasures, Office of Public Health Emergency Medical Countermeasures, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness & Response (ASPR), US Department of Health & Human Services

A total of 500+ senior level attendees participated in 2009. For more information on how your company can raise it’s profile with both sets of attendees all under one roof and in just three days at the ‘10 event, please click here.

Again, there’s NO conflict of interest. It is NOT the case that these people get together to think up ways to make money off of vaccines. As a matter of fact, the CDC would like to speak to you about FRAUD and ABUSE regarding the H1N1 vaccines. That’s right. SOME PEOPLE HAVE BEEN TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE SITUATION. http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/vaccination/h1n1_fraud_abuse.htm

  • Charging for the 2009 H1N1 monovalent influenza vaccine

Despicable.

airport security? oh let’s ask the experts.

Let’s talk about airport security. Back in November Middle East Online carried a story about Israel’s secret profiling at airports in South Africa and allegedly around the world:

South Africa deported an Israeli airline official last week following allegations that Israel’s secret police, the Shin Bet, had infiltrated Johannesburg international airport in an effort to gather information on South African citizens, particularly black and Muslim travellers.

The move by the South African government followed an investigation by local TV showing an undercover reporter being illegally interrogated by an official with El Al, Israel’s national carrier, in a public area of Johannesburg’s OR Tambo airport.

The programme also featured testimony from Jonathan Garb, a former El Al guard, who claimed that the airline company had been a front for the Shin Bet in South Africa for many years.

Of the footage of the undercover reporter’s questioning, he commented: “Here is a secret service operating above the law in South Africa. We pull the wool over everyone’s eyes. We do exactly what we want. The local authorities do not know what we are doing.”

The Israeli foreign ministry is reported to have sent a team to South Africa to try to defuse the diplomatic crisis after the government in Johannesburg threatened to deport all of El Al’s security staff.

Mr Garb’s accusations have been supported by an investigation by the regulator for South Africa’s private security industries.

They have also been confirmed by human rights groups in Israel, which report that Israeli security staff are carrying out racial profiling at many airports around the world, apparently out of sight of local authorities.

So you can click through to read how they accomplish this profiling, and who they target.

Mr Garb commented on the show: “What we are trained is to look for the immediate threat – the Muslim guy. You can think he is a suicide bomber, he is collecting information. The crazy thing is that we are profiling people racially, ethnically and even on religious grounds … This is what we do.”

…The former staff also accuse El Al of smuggling weapons – licensed to the local Israeli embassy – into the airport for use by the secret agents.

Nooooooh.

Check here for connections between China, Nigeria and Israel. Perhaps Nigeria has been getting a little too cozy with China, since 2006, for some people’s comfort?

In 2008 Nigerian lawmakers debated the wisdom of accepting an offer from Mossad to “train the country’s security operations under a secret security pact.”

Also speaking to Daily Trust in a telephone interview, Senator Aliyu said the presence of Mossad in the country does not in any way pose threat to the internal security and sovereignty of Nigeria. He said “as one of the best intelligence agency in the world, Nigeria stands to benefit a lot from the training arrangement between the Mossad and her security agencies….On whether the training agreement has any link with insinuations by some foreign countries that terrorists groups exist in Nigeria, the Senator said, “I don’t think so. Really I want to say that there is no link between such intelligence report and what is going on now. They are only here to impact on our intelligence agents. There is no way it will affect our national security negatively.”

Yes of course. Famous last words.

Finger pointing has ensued over the glaring mistakes which allowed the crotch bomber to get past multiple layers of security, in multiple airports. Nigeria and Ghana have traded accusations.

On Friday, on the continent, Ghana and Nigeria also got locked in an argument over where the suspect began his journey to Amsterdam. As this evolved, a report monitored on British Broadcasting Corporation on Friday also said that the State Security Service and the National Intelligence Agency were also trading blame on the incident.

Could it be? After accepting Israel’s “help,” the Nigerian intelligence community has fallen into “disarray?” Just like the United States intelligence community?

The State Security Service has blamed the Nigerian Intellingence Agency for failing to share key information two months ago about Umar Abdulfarouk Abdulmutallab, the young man who allegedly tried to blow up a plane on Christmas day over the United States with nearly 300 people on board.

If the charge is confirmed, it could highlight the disarray within the Nigerian intelligence community which parallels the mistakes President Barack Obama said had been made by US officials, reports the BBC.
The two senior DSS officials said the agency that Mr Abdulmutallab Snr. had briefed had been the NIA. The DSS officials went on to claim that although their agency was responsible for maintaining airport “watch-lists” of people under suspicion, the NIA had not shared the father’s information with them.

Yes, intelligence agencies in disarray. Not cooperating with each other. Too bad they didn’t have the Shin Bet there. They would have profiled him going through the airport. There’s no way he would have waltzed through in 27 minutes.

AbdulMutallab, according to an official statement from the Federal Government last night, came into the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos from Katoka International Airport Accra, Ghana, via a Virgin Nigeria flight on December 24 at 20.08 hours and immediately went to check in at the KLM counter by 20.35 hours.

…“Security screening at airports are carried out by airport authorities at the airports. In Accra, Ghana Airport Authority carried out the screening. In Nigeria, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) carried out the screening; the same with Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam,” Ayigbe said, adding that authorities in Amsterdam are not indicting KLM rather, the government of Netherlands has ordered for the more sophisticated machines for more comprehensive screening of passengers, especially those going to the US.

Well, actually, we know that an Israeli company, ITCS, handles security at the Amsterdam airport, among others, like all the airports involved on 911. So he wasn’t whisked through security there. See how good they are? No, in that case he had a personal escort.
