vulture11b1. China warns Zimbabwe: we are not ‘friends’ — pay back the money you owe us

Deputy Prime Minister Arthur Mutambara says the Chinese want all loans to be repaid before loosening its purse. According to the Mutambara the Chinese President Hu Jintao revealed to him during a brief meeting at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland that he considers Beijing relationship with Harare as ’business partners’ and not ’friends’.

The Chinese are quoted telling the Mr. Mutambara that: “We’ll not condemn you publicly but we’ll not give you cash”. And according to the Deputy Prime Minister, “unless we do the right thing the Chinese will not work with us.”

…The two countries have signed a series of agreements in infrastructure, tourism, energy and mining but the cooperation has largely not translated into an improved standard of living for ordinary Zimbabweans.

Zimbabwe has literally handed over control of most sectors of the economy to the Chinese during the past few years in return for short-term financial assistance to enable Mugabe’s government to ride one crisis after another.

Are the people of Zimbabwe really celebrating Robert Mugabe’s 86th Birthday? What is there to celebrate about this aberrant human form? Thirty years in power and nothing good to show for it. He is determined to cling on to power for the rest of his life despite embarrassingly losing an election to a more dignified and respectable opposition leader and refusing to hand over the reins of government. Mugabe is not only ruthless, he is incapable of showing remorse and lacks all human form of compassion. On close examination, it is possible that he has an inherent mental condition. Why? Because of all the abnormalities contained in his dispositions and behaviour. When the lust for power deprives anyone of a second thought faculty, you become your own victim. Because you lose control of your sanity as a result of your desperation to satisfy your ego-driven tendencies.

The suspicions were spelled out in a report recently compiled by the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission, which was established by Congress in 2000 in order to “monitor, investigate and submit to Congress an annual report on the national security implications of the bilateral trade and economic relationship between the United States and the People’s Republic of China, and to provide recommendations, where appropriate, to Congress for legislative and administrative action.” The report noted, among other things, that the group of Chinese corporations has business ties with Israeli businessman and diamond magnate Lev Leviev.

2. India, Angola agree to cooperation for hydrocarbon sector — there’s Sonagol again

Luanda (Angola), Jan 27: India and Angola on Wednesday said that the two countries will enter into Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide an overarching framework for cooperation in the hydrocarbon sector.

…During the meeting a MoU was signed between ONGC Videsh Ltd. (OVL) and the National Oil Company of Angola namely, Sonangol, for cooperation in the exploration sector.

Abuja — Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, who is in Nigeria for the THISDAY’s Nigeria at 50, 2010 Awards, yesterday relived the diplomatic interactions that contributed to the success of their administrations.

Speaking at an Inter-faith Malaria Initiative organised by the Nigeria Inter-faith Action Association with funding support from Federal Government, World Bank, Centre for Inter-faith Action on Global Poverty and the Tony Blair Faith Foundation held at the Kuje Town Hall in Abuja, Obasanjo said the former British premier made a significant contribution to Nigeria’s exit from the Paris Club and other creditor nations.

Obasanjo, whose entry into the venue of the event elicited wild, nostalgic cheers from the audience, said while he travelled round the globe to get Nigeria off the Paris Club debt yoke, he received promises from world leaders which were not fruitful thus prompting his government to search for a facilitator and a member of the Group of Seven industrialised nations (G7) which they found in Mr. Blair.

He said the debt relief allowed the country to channel resources into the Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) projects notably funds needed to fight infant mortality and morbidity occasioned by such diseases as malaria.

…Also yesterday, Blair visited Acting President Goodluck Jonathan at his Akinola Aguda residence, Presidential Villa, Abuja and commended him for holding the country together in the face of the daunting political leadership facing the country.

Blair also expressed concern about recent political developments in the country and thanked Jonathan for the skilful way he has handled the country.

5. George W Bush and Dear Condi also wish Goodluck Jonathan Good Luck i think he’s gonna need it

Nigeria’s Acting President, Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday evening in Abuja secured the support of the former President of the United States, George Bush who assured him of the world’s support in making his job a success. Mr. Bush and his entourage were in Nigeria for the ThisDay Nigeria at 50 awards….

“Terrorism is alien to Nigeria,” Mr Jonathan said. “Nigeria and US are strategic partners for global peace and development.” He also thanked the US government for its concern over the health of President Umaru Yar’Adua who is currently undergoing treatment in a Saudi hospital.

Mr Bush was accompanied on the trip by former US Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice and US Ambassador to Nigeria, Robin Sanders. On the Nigerian side were the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ojo Maduekwe and his solid minerals counterpart, Diezeani Allison Maduekwe.

6. oil agenda and bush visit

United States of America’s insistence on establishing a military high command for Africa called AFRICOM in the Gulf of Guinea is not for the love of the continent, but principally for the lust for its oil resources.

Over the years, the U.S. has significantly increased its oil imports from Africa, mainly through most of its companies operating in Nigeria, Angola, and to a lesser extent from Equatorial Guinea, Sao Tome and Sudan.

The expectation of an average American is that by 2015 about 25 percent of its oil imports would come from Africa, essentially from the Gulf of Guinea. Therefore, any threat to sustained oil exploration and production activities in the region is, invariably, a direct threat to America’s interest.

Maintaining stability in the centres of oil production in Africa has remained a prime concern to the US.

The threat from China With China also venturing outside for other sources of oil to support its quest for solutions to its energy needs, the competition has heightened the pressure on the U.S. to safeguard its existing oil interests.

8. Obasanjo: also not happy with this Goodluck Jonathan business — it’s not a permanent solution, especially since he is practically back in office himself with Yar’Adua out of the picture, and if some corruption charges start popping up about Jonathan….you never know.

Kaduna — Nigeria’s former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that the nation’s resort to the Acting Presidency as a way of stabilising the polity in the absence of ailing President Umaru Yar’Adua should not be regarded as a permanent solution.

Instead, he said further steps ought to be taken to arrive at a more dependable and permanent solution to the existing political uncertainty in the country.

9. Nigeria: investigator of financial crimes assassinated

A former senior investigator with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Danjuma Mohammed was yesterday shot dead in the Gwarimpa area of Abuja. He was ambushed by gunmen as he returned home from a trip from Minna, Niger State.

Mr Mohammed, a DeputySuperintendent of Police and top aide of the former EFCC boss, Nuhu Ribadu, was responsible for several high profile cases during Mr Ribadu’s leadership of the EFCC leading to landmark conviction of some corrupt government officials. He was until his assassination yesterday a deputy investigator at the Federal Inland Revenue Service. Mr. Mohammed was one of the first casualties of the power play in the EFCC when Farida Waziri took over the three years ago.

His assassination is the second against financial crimes investigators. In November 2009, Abubakar Umar, a lawyer and special assistant to Ahmeed Al-Mustapha, registrar of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), was killed and burned in his car in Abuja.

Police investigations are yet to yield any result.

10. chaos in Ivory Coast (Zoellick was there recently) as protesters resort to looting and vandalism

In the Ivory Coast city of Bouake, hundreds of protesters marched through the city center, setting fire to cars, smashing up shops and looting a local government administrative office. This comes amidst the backdrop of President Laurent Gbagbo dissolving the government and the electoral commission one week after a row over voter registration. A group of protesters broke into the regional governor’s office and stole equipments as they chant that they don’t want the President anymore. “Gbagbo must quit now! He cannot stay in power,” they said. Ivorian security forces dispersed protesters in the south western town of Gagnoa, using tear gas.  Five protesters were killed a day before after police fired into the crowd of demonstrators.

11. one dead three injured in Rwanda attacks

Eighteen people are reported injured after three simultaneous grenade attacks in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital. The attacks that looked choreographed left one person dead as they went off in the city’s busiest points last night. According to state radio, five of the injured were in serious condition following the attacks on a busy bus station, a restaurant and a building housing city centre businesses. Grenade attacks have increasingly become a popular way of venting anger or revenge, mostly on unsuspecting crowds in the last three years in Rwanda, where many of those cases remain largely unsolved.

1. Obasanjo breaks silence on Nigeria’s sick president — denies that he picked someone known to be an invalid

LAGOS, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) — Former Nigerian leader Olusegun Obasanjo has said ailing President Umaru Yar’Adua showed a medical report that certified him fit to contest the 2007 Presidential election. Responding to questions at a media forum in Abuja, Obasanji said Yar’Adua had all the qualities of a good leader, at the time he was chosen as his party’s candidate for the election….“So, for people to say that I, Olusegun Obasanjo deliberately brought somebody who is an invalid to rule this country is the height of insult,” he stressed. “That I have put so much into this country in peace and in war and given this country to somebody who will run it down,” he asked. “No body picked Yar’Adua so that he will not perform, If I did that, God will punish me because I love this country so much and there is no reason why I should do that,” Obasanjo told his audience.

2.14 days to decide Yar’Adua’s fate

A Judge in the country, Justice Dan Abutu, has ordered the cabinet to pass a resolution on Yar’Adua’s fitness within two weeks after a former lawmaker brought a legal case against the government, saying his failure to transfer power was in breach of the constitution.

…The Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, said “If you take up a job, elected, appointed or whatever, and then your health starts to fail you and you will not be able to deliver, to satisfy the people you are supposed to serve, then there is a path of honour and path of morality. If you don’t know that, you don’t know anything. I will stop on that note,” he told a briefing in Abuja on Thursday. The ex-President is still an influential figure within the ruling party and his closeness to the Vice President means his influence over government could grow should he (the VP) take over.

3. $350 M seized from Abacha’s son by Swiss authorities. unnamed Monaco intermediary penalized for abetting money laundering

Authorities in Switzerland have ordered the seizure of assets worth around $350m from Abba Abacha, son of Sani Abacha, ex-President of Nigeria. The order came as a result of a suspended custodial sentence emanating from a conviction of being a member of a criminal organisation. Abba, one of the sons of the late military dictator, has also been convicted for graft.

The investigation which started in 1999 was as a result of a request by the Nigerian government to the swiss authorities to recover an estimated $3 billion misappropriated by Sani Abacha during his four-year rule as Nigeria’s Head of State. The government of Nigeria has since recovered $700m form the Swiss. In a statement, the Geneva Canton’s justice office said “The first order of the sentence issued yesterday by the examining magistrate found that Abba Abacha, born November 9, 1968, son of the late General Sani Abacha, was guilty of participation in a criminal organisation,”

The Swiss authorities also confirmed that they had convicted an intermediary who is currently living in Monaco, for having been part of the criminal organisation run by the Abacha family. In a statement the authorities said “The person has also been ordered to pay the Canton of Geneva 10million Swiss Francs — which corresponds to illegal gains obtained from these culpable activities,” It seems the Abacha family used members of their family, close aides and business associates to transfer the money into different Swiss bank accounts.

Also enmeshed in the vast and formalized bribery scheme is a long line of ministers, bureaucrats, top politicians,state and local officials and former oil minister Dan Etete, according to American investigators.

This cast of characters, charged with running the affairs of 150 million people in the heart of Africa,received stacks of US dollar bills in briefcases and sometimes in bullion vans. In other cases they received their payoffs via electronic bank transfers involving such financial institutions as Citibank. In all, these eminent Nigerians accepted at least N27 billion in bribes from the oil services companies in exchange for billions of dollars in contracts to build our liquefied natural gas plant, US investigators say.

6. timeline of Halliburton and Nigeria bribery scandal

1988: Dresser Industries acquires M.W. Kellogg, ten years before Dresser merges with Halliburton.

September 1994: M.W. Kellogg and three other companies form a partnership known as TSKJ, incorporated in Medeira, Portugal. Each partner owns a 25 percent equal share. Kellogg’s three other partners are Technip of France, Italy’s Snamprogetti, and Japan Gasoline Corp. The partnership submits a bid to Nigeria LNG to build a natural gas plant in Nigeria. Nigeria LNG is owned by the Nigerian government and Royal Dutch/Shell Group. TSKJ’s $2 billion bid is not immediately accepted even though it was 5 percent lower than a bid submitted by competitor, Bechtel Group, Inc.

November 1994: As TSKJ awaits Nigeria’s decision on the bid, Wojciech Chodan, an executive at Kellogg and later a consultant for Kellogg Brown & Root, meets with London lawyer Jefferey Tesler, who is known for his contacts and friendly relations with the Nigerian government, including its dictator Gen. Sani Abacha. During the meeting, they discussed channeling $40 million to Gen. Abacha through Mr. Tesler’s firm Tri-Star, based in Gibralter, Spain.

March 1995: TSKJ formally hires Mr. Tesler as agent; TSKJ’s bid has still not been accepted by Nigeria LNG. Mr. Tesler’s employment contract is signed by an M.W. Kellogg executive on behalf of the TSKJ partnership. Mr. Tesler had been working on behalf of TSKJ prior to March 1995 and the employment contract was given to Mr. Tesler as a reward for his prodding of Nigerian officials. The employment contract provided that Mr. Tesler would be paid $60 million if Nigeria awarded the construction contract to TSKJ. Mr. Tesler’s Tri-Star was contracted to receive at least $160 million in five agreements signed between 1995 and 2002, and the funds were directed to bank accounts in Switzerland and Monaco.

7. December 2003: will the French indict Cheney? guess not….

One of France’s best-known investigating magistrates, Judge Renaud van Ruymbeke–who came to fame by unearthing major French campaign finance scandals in the 1990s that led to a raft of indictments–has been conducting a probe of the Nigeria deal since October. And, three days before Christmas, the Paris daily Le Figaro front-paged the news that Judge van Ruymbeke had notified the Justice Ministry that Cheney might be among those eventually indicted as a result of his investigation. …The suspected bribe money was mostly ladled out between 1995 and 2000, when Cheney was Halliburton’s CEO. The Journal du Dimanche reported on December 21 that “it is probable that some of the ‘retrocommissions’ found their way back to the United States” and asked, did this money go “to Halliburton’s officials? To officials of the Republican Party?” These questions have so far gone unasked by America’s media, which have completely ignored the explosive Le Figaro headline revealing the targeting of Cheney. It will be interesting to see if the US press looks seriously into this ticking time-bomb of a scandal before the November elections.

I have not been able to confirm this little gem of a quote from Israeli 10th TV channel, but it has the ring of truth, like the soap scum around a dirty bathtub.

“Another Israeli spokeswoman, Tzipora Menache, stated that she was not worried about negative ramifications the Israeli onslaught on Gaza might have on the way the Obama administration would view Israel. She said ‘You know very well, and the stupid Americans know equally well, that we control their government, irrespective of who sits in the White House. You see, I know it and you know it that no American president can be in a position to challenge us even if we do the unthinkable. What can they (Americans) do to us? We control congress, we control the media, we control show biz, and we control everything in America. In America you can criticize God, but you can’t criticize Israel.”Commenting on the latest Israeli one-directional onslaught against the Palestinians of Gaza Strip, the Israeli 10th TV channel has disclosed that the Israeli genocidal forces had used half of its air force and had launched at least 2500 air raids against Gaza Strip.

I’m sure Abe Foxman and other apologists would tell us that there’s nothing wrong, per se, with Israel controlling American media, our congress, show biz and basically everything here; but, again, as with Olmert, it’s a mistake to talk about it.

If that doesn’t make you spit nails, you really are a boot-licker.

The little incident with Condi and George and Ehud says so much. Here we are, literally in the last week of eight years of the Bush Administration. Over 1000 Palestinians, including hundreds of children, have been killed by the IOF in the last three weeks. Israel stands in grievous, blatant violation of numerous international laws and UN resolutions, such as inflicting collective punishment, intentionally targeting civilians, UN buildings, hospitals, journalists, and of course, using banned weapons such as white phosphorous and DIME.

But as you have surely heard, when Ehud Olmert got wind that Condi might vote yes to a UN cease-fire resolution, he got right on the phone with George and bossed him all over the Oval Office clear from Tel Aviv. No hands. And then George told Condi to abstain. And She Did.

What would Condi have lost by voting for the resolution that she herself helped to draft? Would it be too much to ask that she take a morally courageous stand for less than one week, knowing that in a matter of days she can go on with her life? Knowing that it could save innocent lives? Perhaps hundred of innocent lives? The lives of women and children and old people, and of fathers and brothers?

But no, she couldn’t do it. She couldn’t stand up to these thugs for even a few uncomfortable days. Nope. Lest anyone think that Condi really does feel for the Palestinians, or Condi really wasn’t so bad, or Condi was just wedged between a rock and a hard place. Get over her.

Either Condi has no moral courage whatsoever, OR, Condi simply has no morals.

Just think…how many more Palestinian children had to die because Condi could not tell George Bush and Ehud Olmert to go piss off, because she was going to vote YES to a damn cease-fire resolution. That’s all it was. A cease-fire resolution. But it was apparently too hot to handle because it might infer that Hamas and Israel were somehow equated, if you can believe that shit, and we can’t have people inferring that because Israel is a “member-state of the UN,” while Hamas, my friends, is merely a “terrorist organization.” Rich! So even though they are fighting, you know, in reality; it would be unseemly to sign an effing cease-fire resolution between them because that might imply that they have anything to do with each other.

Allright? That is what passes for leadership today, and has for some time.

1. Powerful people want you, dear citizen, to cast the blame on India and Pakistan. And maybe Condi Rice and George Bush, since they’re leaving anyway and are obviously incompetent.

This Debka story and analysis posits that intelligence services (the NSA and Indian RAW) knew about these planned terrorist attacks and did nothing. Nothing!

Note that Brian and Charlie take pains to point out that the warnings (plural) given to India by the US were ‘very specific.’ Mumbai officials took some precautions but discontinued them as they were ‘burdensome’ to the hotel owners.

Do you see the little judgment game going on here? Brian Ross and Charlie Gibson have perfected the schtick — the earnest questions, dogged persistence and regretful but subtle head- shaking disgust — needed to make millions and millions of Americans draw the preferred conclusions.

And what conclusions are those? Well, it so happened that the person who watched this with me knows nothing about false flags or anything like that. Just an average person who doesn’t pay close attention. The reaction to this news was along the lines of Wow, can you believe the incompetence of these guys? I would suggest that this reaction is exactly what ABC News had in mind.

The emotional message goes like this: Dear Americans, Indian officials stupidly ignored our warnings, and the hotel owners shortsightedly and lazily skipped the precautions. Now you know that not only does Pakistan harbor Al Qaeda terrorists, but also that India has a lackadaisical approach to terror-fighting. Oh, and now they’ll expect the selfless USofA to bail them out, after they completely shirked their duties fighting the greatest threat to Western Civilization. You just can’t trust Muslims. And we’ll have to go and do it because that’s the kind of people we are. Can you believe this outrage? Yes, we knew you could. That’s why we get paid the Big Bucks. Love you more, Brian and Charlie and all your rich friends at ABCCBSNBCFOXCNN

But I digress…The Debka article naturally offers us the very subtle Israelicentric spin: Don’t you be looking at us! You Americans and Indians knew all about this and did nothing. Even your Brian Ross and Charlie Gibson say so! Ha. Gotcha. (Thanks, Brian and Charlie! wink wink wink wink)

2. RAW (Indian external intelligence apparatus) has some history of mole infestations.

This goes back to mid-2004. A senior ranking intelligence officer defected to the US after being suspected of compromising Indian national security.

The Indian government fears that the defection of Rabinder Singh, who held the senior rank of joint secretary and who headed the agency’s Southeast Asia department, is only the tip of the iceberg in a possible infiltration operation by the CIA and Mossad, Israel’s foreign intelligence service

Many interesting details here, like this:

The newspaper said when RAW’s bosses discussed the issue with a former top security official, they were asked not to proceed against the alleged defector.

That split the RAW hierarchy. While one group wanted immediate action against Mr Singh, another refused to allow his arrest. The time lost gave Singh the opportunity to make a quiet getaway.

Okaaay. Interesting.

3. In at least one case, we have reports that the Indian police really did…well…nothing.

A photographer claims that Indian police officers in the train station refused to fire on the terrorists.

But what angered Mr D’Souza almost as much were the masses of armed police hiding in the area who simply refused to shoot back. “There were armed policemen hiding all around the station but none of them did anything,” he said. “At one point, I ran up to them and told them to use their weapons. I said, ‘Shoot them, they’re sitting ducks!’ but they just didn’t shoot back.”

The militants returned inside the station and headed towards a rear exit towards Chowpatty Beach. Mr D’Souza added: “I told some policemen the gunmen had moved towards the rear of the station but they refused to follow them. What is the point if having policemen with guns if they refuse to use them? I only wish I had a gun rather than a camera.”

Now why would they do that? Were they following orders to stand down? Who would give such orders, and why? Might this be related to moles in RAW? Might this be related to Israel?

4. Or, did this operation go down the wrong pipe?

Did the rogue false flag operation get punked by another rogue element in the criminal underworld? It’s very confusing, but I think that’s what Wayne Madsen is getting at here.

WMR’s Asian intelligence sources have provided additional information on the wave of terrorist attacks in Mumbai. Under pressure from Washington, this past May Pakistan’s Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani cut a secret deal with the US and India, to turn over to Delhi a number of residents of Pakistan wanted by India for terrorism. One of those included in the deal was the CIA’s erstwhile asset, Mumbai-born Dawood Ibrahim, a veteran of CIA operations in Afghanistan during the mujaheddin war against the Soviets.

Ibrahim, according to our sources, has been under the protection of Pakistan’s ISI since June. He is being protected in Quetta, near the Waziristan tribal region. The CIA is fearful that if Ibrahim is deported to India, RAW and Russia’s Vladimir Putin will obtain the entire dossier on the CIA’s sponsorship of criminal activities and terrorist attacks. ISI would prefer Ibrahim to move to the UAE, perhaps Dubai, where he has extensive financial interests. Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari is a business rival of Ibrahim and the ISI would like Ibrahim to be at a distance from Pakistan’s president and “settle scores” with his old “allies” and new enemies in Langley from outside Pakistani territory.

Ibrahim is reportedly using his gangland “muscle” in India to send a clear message to Delhi and Washington that he is a force to be reckoned with. The son of a Bombay (Mumbai) police constable who, himself, dabbled in organized criminal activity, Ibrahim has his informants and agents peppered throughout the Indian police, RAW, and Pakistan’s ISI. Ibrahim also knows a great deal about the CIA’s operations on the sub-continent, including having the “goods” on the CIA’s “Afghanist” agents, as well as agency veterans of Kathmandu who dabbled in personal loans from Ibrahim to pay off gambling debts, personal favors for the CIA, highly sought after prostitutes, and drugs. Many of these veterans of Nepal are now senior analysts and operational personnel at CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia.

Eeesh. Crazier than a badger on crystal meth, to borrow a phrase.

The CIA has every reason to blame the Mumbai attacks on a coterie of “Islamist” groups, including Lashkar-e-Taiba, “Al Qaeda,” and a new group called “Deccan Mujahedin.” If the media takes a closer look at Ibrahim they will find links to Langley and that is something neither the CIA or Pakistan or India wants to see happen lest other “dirty laundry” also comes to the forefront. Ibrahim’s joint casino interests with the CIA in Kathmandu apparently involves money laundering for top Indian politicians in New Delhi, as well as some of India’s more well-known “Bollywood” actors.

He is kicking ass and taking names, apparently.

Ibrahim also sent a warning message to Israel by seizing Chabad House in Mumbai, reportedly a haven for right-wing Jewish Orthodox groups and Israeli military “trainers” who pose as backpackers on holiday in Kashmir during their reconnaissance missions. Apparently, the Israelis’ uncouth behavior toward Kashmiri locals, including cheating taxi drivers and lodges, became known to Ibrahim who figured he could also take advantage of his assault on Mumbai to teach the Israelis a couple of lessons.

Yes, we just learned about this the other day.

By torching the Taj Mahal Palace hotel in Mumbai, Ibrahim has also earned a few extra points with Pakistan’s government. The Taj Mahal is owned by the Taj Group, an enterprise of the multi-billionaire Tata family of India. Tata stands to make a fortune from the US-India nuclear technology sharing pact as a defense supplier for India’s future modernized nuclear arsenal. The targeting of the Tata-owned hotel was a stark warning, via Ibrahim’s gang, that America will pay dearly for backing India’s expanded nuclear ambitions. And for that, Islamabad obviously looked the other way as Ibrahim’s men deployed to Mumbai by sea from Karachi.

Ugly. Christopher Story calls it the rats in a sack syndrome, when the underworld characters start to take each other down to save themselves. It looks like that’s what happening here. All the lies and betrayals and double crosses and triple crosses and money laundering and drugs and prostitutes and weapons and murders…it can make people snap.

UPDATE: More information here, especially on Dawood’s legendary reputation. I don’t know. It seems sort of James Bond meets Robinhood to me.

His childhood familiarity with police routine and inner workings of the justice system gave the ambitious teenager an unmatched ability to outwit the authorities with evermore clever criminal designs. Among the unschooled ranks of Bombay gangland, Ibrahim emerged as the coherent leader of a multi-religious mafia, not just due to his ability to organize extortion campaigns and meet payrolls, but also because of his merciless extermination of rivals.

Dawood, always the professional problem-solver, gained the friendship of aspiring officers in India’s intelligence service known as Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). He soon attracted the attention of American secret agents, then supporting the Islamic mujahideen in their battle against the Soviet occupiers of Afghanistan. Dawood personally assisted many a U.S. deep-cover operation funneling money to Afghan rebels via American-operated casinos in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Eager to please all comers, Dawood occasionally got his wires crossed, providing travel documents and other amenities to Islamist airplane hijackers. In response, Washington spymasters tried to unofficially “impound” his investment in the Nepalese casinos. Dawood’s fury is legendary among locals. An honorable businessman, he held to the strict belief that a deal is a deal and there can be no reneging for any reason.

This right here is what you call a Total Disconnect from Reality.

WASHINGTON (AFP) — George W. Bush hopes history will see him as a president who liberated millions of Iraqis and Afghans, who worked towards peace and who never sold his soul for political ends.

“I’d like to be a president (known) as somebody who liberated 50 million people and helped achieve peace,” Bush said in excerpts of a recent interview released by the White House Friday.

“I would like to be a person remembered as a person who, first and foremost, did not sell his soul in order to accommodate the political process. I came to Washington with a set of values, and I’m leaving with the same set of values.”

He also said he wanted to be seen as a president who helped individuals, “that rallied people to serve their neighbor; that led an effort to help relieve HIV/AIDS and malaria on places like the continent of Africa; that helped elderly people get prescription drugs and Medicare as a part of the basic package.”

Bush added that every day during his eight-year presidency he had consulted the Bible and drawn comfort from his faith.

“I would advise politicians, however, to be careful about faith in the public arena,” the US leader said in the interview with his sister Doro Bush Koch recorded as part of an oral history program known as Storycorps.

As his second term in office draws to an end, Bush joked he would miss some of the trappings that come with the presidency such as trips on Air Force One, never being stuck in a traffic jam, and the president’s residence at Camp David.

But he said he was glad to be stepping back into the shadows.

“Frankly, I’m not going to miss the limelight all that much. It’s been a fabulous experience to be the president … But it will be nice to see the Klieg lights shift somewhere else.”

The interview, which Bush recorded with First Lady Laura Bush, will be stored in the library of Congress and a museum devoted to the Bush presidency.

Sure, Buddy. It’s gonna be just like that. Mmm hmm.

The people in power have committed many crimes, and we don’t know about most of them yet. As these crimes get exposed, it will cause many problems. You could say we will have a new Problem/Reaction/Solution situation on our hands here pretty soon.

Have you ever confronted a narcissist or psychopath? I have. It gets very messy very quickly. When confronted, they first deny (wide-eyed and aghast), and then immediately go into overdrive trying to backstop as many lies as they possibly can to prevent their whole construct from unraveling. Considering that they reproduce lies like horny little bunnies, they panic at the thought of tracking them all down in time. Much throwing under the bus ensues, along with tears, rending of garments, gnashing of teeth — basically a full-blown, breathless hysterical production in which the liar-protagonist tells an elaborate tale of being betrayed by “everyone else”, and then proceeds to run around the block as quickly as possible to reach “everyone else” and tell the tale again, always adjusting the “facts” to ensure that they alone remain in the center of holy righteousness at all times.

I have just described for you what we will be subjected to on a very large scale, starting tomorrow, and lasting through probably most of next year.

Just remember: We have lots of problems, but those who created these problems have even bigger problems, which mainly revolve around avoiding responsibility (like prison, for instance). We must react to our problems with great care. But the appropriate reaction to their problems is steely, unflinching, impassive, unmovable resolve. As for solutions to their problems, from our perspective, I’m thinking trials for treason, war crimes…you know, stuff like that.

I continue to wade through www.worldreports.org, wishing I had stumbled across it two years ago. Meanwhile, not knowing exactly what to expect tomorrow, but hoping for a straightforward result at least, this little story caught my eye:

McCain plans to purge CIA if elected, officials say
Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) plans to “purge” the CIA if elected Nov. 4, according to a report Sunday, potentially returning the agency to a model used during World War II.

Government officials, speaking anonymously to Newsweek, “said they expect a President McCain would purge not only [CIA Director Michael] Hayden but also his two top deputies.”

…Obama’s campaign, meanwhile, has said little, but campaign officials didn’t downplay suggestions that they’d replace Hayden, who was instrumental in the development of President George W. Bush’s National Security Agency’s warrantless wiretapping program.

“Inside the various agencies, trepidation is widespread,” the magazine said. “The last thing American intelligence needs is another shake-up,” one official said, noting that the previous reorganization “is barely two years old. It’s still shaking out, and it can be made to work better than it does now–without using a chain saw.”

Well, actually, according to the report cited below, a shake-down of these agencies would be completely in order. You know…to turn all the lying scumbag thieves masquerading as public servants upside down and empty their pockets of all the stolen money and treasonous secrets they’ve apparently been handing off to the highest bidders? Good idea.

What follows is but one little story from this report, and this is just one report from a long stream of reports, and this is just the free version of the author’s work, as one can pay for more detailed information. It makes my blood boil to know that this information must be widely known inside the Beltway. Widely known, for years. To wit:

Congress is deeply compromised, with 1,500+ people on The Hill having been identified in April 2007, as we reported at the time, as beneficiaries of secret offshore bank accounts. Bribery of legislators under Cheney has been extensive.

Bribed to shut-up about things like this, Dick and George’s private spook computer trade-show:

‘CHENEY & BUSH TOOK THE MONEY FOR THE COMPUTERS USED FOR THE MURDERS’
I found the White House Security camera footage of that event. The GAO has a copy of it. The payment is shown on the video. The man took hundred dollar bill(s) out of his pocket and handed that to Bush. Bush hesitated and then handed the money to Cheney. The footage of that computer being carried out of the room by a guard follows about 20 minutes later. The room had about 20 computers from the CIA in it, to start with. [They were all neatly laid out, as at a sales demonstration, for buyers to examine, test, select, and pay for: only cash was accepted: Ed.].

The security camera tape shows Bush Jr. and Mr Cheney repeatedly coming into the room with a prospective buyer and taking cash in varying amounts. That continued until all the computers were gone. Some prospective buyers remained in the room for over an hour exploring the contents of the stolen CIA computers, before deciding on a purchase. I checked with the CIA and found that no CIA vetting of those buyers had occurred. Most did not have security clearances. Some of them had prior felony convictions and had been allowed into the White House ‘on orders from above’. The sale was ‘by invitation only’, with Bush and Cheney controlling the invitation list.

The earlier tape shows Cheney directing Halliburton employees in where to set the computers up. Much care and time was taken to plug them in and connect them to monitors, mice, keyboards, and to arrange the room nicely with a mouse pad under each mouse. The GAO has a copy of that tape too. The manual on how to torture people (in the manner described) and the file of CIA Personnel was sent overseas and domestically through the mail whenever a buyer purchased a snuff film from that man. His poorly kept records showed that he had mailed out at least 2,000 such CDs with the Manual on ‘how to please the Lords of Darkness’, and file on them.

After reading this report, and I encourage you to do so, one can only conclude that George Bush, Dick Cheney, et. al. work for people whose goal is surely to destroy America. They have accomplished a great deal toward their goal over eight years. Yet people DO exist who resist, or who at least burn with resentment and wait, and should anything happen to move the situation back toward justice (which according to Story is currently happening behind the scenes), these people might just come out of the woodwork. Soon.

From the Editor’s Preface to Political Ponerology by Andrew Lobaczewski, p. 15-16.

Andrew Lobaczewski addresses the problem of the psychopath and their extremely significant contribution to our macrosocial evils, their ability to act as the eminence grise behind the very structure of our society. It is very important to keep in mind that this influence comes from a relatively small segment of humanity. The other 90-some percent of human beings are not psychopaths.

But that 90-some percent of normal people know that something is wrong! They just can’t quite identify it; can’t quite put their finger on it; and because they can’t they tend to think that there is nothing they can do about it, or maybe it is just God punishing people.

What is actually the case is that when that 90-some percent of human beings fall into a certain state, as Lobaczewski will describe, the psychopaths, like a virulent pathogen in a body, strike at the weaknesses, and the entire society is plunged into conditions that always and inevitably lead to horror and tragedy on a very large scale.

This process takes time, but we have reached The End Stage. If you’ve ever been related to or involved with a psychopath or narcissist, you will understand this: (Lobaczewski, p. 18)

One thing we do know is this: many people who experience interactions with psychopaths and narcissists report feeling “drained” and confused and often subsequently experience deteriorating health. Does this mean that part of the dynamic, part of the explanation for why psychopaths will pursue “love relationships” and “friendships” that ostensibly can result in no observable material gain, is because there is an actual energy consumption?

We do not know the answer to this question. We observe, we theorize, we speculate and hypothesize. But in the end, only the individual victim can determine what they have lost in the dynamic - and it is often far more than material goods. In a certain sense, it seems that psychopaths are soul eaters or “psychophagic”.

Spending time with one of these people is like having a quart of blood drained out of your arm. Similarly, people who follow current events closely experience waves of deep depression and hopelessness. If one looks at our country’s decline, especially over the past decade, does it not reflect the same dynamic? The common wealth has been drained, and poisons have been injected.

This psychopathic group in power has also been described as an Octopus.

The Assassination State: The “Octopus” Siezes Control of America:

In my March 2001 article I warned of an imminent assassination of a US senator. I explicitly warned that the wreckage of any Senatorial plane crashes MUST NOT fall into the hands of the intelligence agencies. The chilling reality is that the evidence needn’t go to the agency. In this Orwellian nightmare that America has become, the agency comes to the evidence - In the form of tentacular control of all the tendrils of the “Assassination State.“They are now vertically integrated into every facet of the assassination and oppression cycle. Now, the bodies go directly to coroners connected to this Octopus and the wreckage is promptly delivered to the highest air transportation investigation authority, also headed by another tentacle of the Octopus. It’s everywhere!

The Octopus has grown to enormous size. But just like the giant creatures dwelling in the Marianas Trench, these things cannot survive after being hauled to the surface. Sadly for the Octopus, it has been caught in the fisherman’s net.

(Now for the whole story on how that happened, the best advice I can give you is to print out the last few installments from Christopher Story and study them. This is literally like jumping into a soap opera that’s been running for ten years, but if he’s correct (God-willing), this is the most satisfying reading you might ever enjoy — like eating all the best Halloween candy and not feeling sick or gaining an ounce. If he’s wrong, you can go back to being totally depressed.)

In particular, note the reference to the Colin Powell remarks about the ‘crisis’ immediately after inauguration.

From Christopher Story’s installment on 10/26/08, titled The Corrupt Octopus has been severely wounded:

Mention by Colin Powell and several other big figures of ‘a crisis that the American people know nothing about occurring on 21st/22nd January’ immediately following the new American President’s Inauguration confirms (a) that the US élite are congratulating themselves for having covered up the endless corruption in high places from the general public through their control of the ‘mainstream media’ (Operation Mockingbird); and (b) that it is taken for granted that the new President will be obliged to trigger immediate action against the high-level perpetrators of these financial crimes: otherwise the new President will be personally implicated in these crimes.

I’ve read the other interpretations of Powell’s and Biden’s remarks, and I think they’re wrong. I think the ‘crisis,’ as Story explains, is that everything we’ve been told to believe will be turned upside-down, which is to say right-side up, and that will be extremely disorienting for many people who have become accustomed to living in upside-down world. To wit:

Bush 41 & 43 will be hauled up in the net.
Hillary and Bill will be hauled up in the net.
Israel will be hauled up in the net.
And many, many more…
The Octopus is being hauled up from the dark and briny deep. It will not survive the decompression or the exposure to the sunlight and air. When people get a load of how enormous this creature is, and how disgusting, and how many its tentacles, they will be amazed.

Dick Cheney has been absent lately, which may or may not mean anything. I have seen unconfirmed reports on deep conspiracy sites that he has been at death’s door for several weeks now, but who knows?

Though, of course, if that were true, and if he was near death or actually dead, unbeknownst to the American people, at some point we would probably see stories like this preparing us for his ’sudden’ demise.

“Vice President Dick Cheney, who was scheduled to make a fundraising appearance today in Homer Glen, has canceled, according to Andy Seré, spokesman for 11th Congressional district GOP candidate Marty Ozinga,” the Chicago Tribune reported early Wednesday morning. …According to the Tribune, Cheney was slated to attend a private, closed to the media fundraiser at Ozinga’s house in Homer Glen in Illinois.

So what’s next? Routine trip to George Washington University Hospital ends in tragedy as Dick Cheney’s heart collapses into a gravity sucking black hole, pulling the entire hospital complex and thousands of unsuspecting citizens into a parallel universe?
