the link between climate change (ie: weather modification) and violence

1. barbaric night killings in Jos, Nigeria blamed on Fulani herdsmen

Less than two months after hudreds of people lost their lives in two days of ethno-religious crises in Jos, Plateau State, another 500 have been reported killed in a night raid on Dogon Nahowa village, Jos South local government area, yesterday. Another source said over 200 were kiled. Both figures could not be confirmed last night. The villagers said their attackers were Fulani herdsmen who swooped on them while they slept.

Reports from the village said the attack, which lasted all of two hours, began at about midnight, and the victims were completely unprepared for the fury of the marauders. The intense gunfire and wild use of cutlasses and other metallic weapons left little chance for the victims who were hacked down and burnt as they attempted to escape the massacre.

A resident of the village, Peter Jang told Reuters news agency that, “The shooting was just meant to bring people from their houses and then when people came out they started cutting them with machetes.” As at press time, fear and suspicion has spread throughout the city of Jos, and anxious residents mostly kept to their homes, especially when reports spread that the mood in Mangu Local Government in central Plateau was tense. The attackers were said to have departed the scene of their mayhem unscathed; arriving and departing with such speed that neither the villagers nor the police could mobilise fast enough to stop their escape.

3. about Fulani tribe –
The Fulani people call themselves Fulve* (Pullo, in singuler). They were originally nomadic herders, traders and farming people living throughout West Africa. Today the majority of fulani people live urban centers. While their origins are disputed, Arab writers recorded their existence over 1000 years ago. However experts believe that they originated from a region that occupied the present day Northern Senegal. Over the centuries, they migrated with their cattle to occupy vast areas in the Sahel and Savannah regions of West Africa and evolved into many subgroups with a variety of designations including Fulve, Jelgove, Gurma, Gorgave, Fellata, Fula, Fulakunda, Bororos, Wodaabe, Peul, Pulaar, Halpulaar, Liptaako, Toucouleur, and Tukolor. Presently, they live in communities throughout much of the West-Africa, from Senegal to Cameroon and as far east as Sudan and Ethiopia. The fulani range covers an area larger than continental United States and western Europe.
Historically, the Fulani played a significant role in the rise and fall of ancient African empires such as Ghana, Mali, Songhai and the Mossi states.

They greatly contributed to the spread of Islam throughout Western Africa. More recently, slavery and colonialism dispersed Fulani throughout the Middle East, the Americas and Europe. American history books are full of individuals of Fulani origin who have distinguished themselves in North and South America and the Caribbean.

Fulve have rich traditions and fascinating way of life. They have had a significant social, religious and political impact in West Africa. As minorities in most of the West African countries where they reside, the Fulani are steadily mixing with local dominant cultures. The phenomenon of local integration, combined with the impact of colonization and westernization, has slowly eroded the Fulani language and traditions.

If nothing is done to maintain their culture and language, the Fulani will simply vanish in a few generations. Without an awareness of the unique richness and formidable contribution of the Fulani traditions and without a serious effort to conserve and sustain the Fulani heritage, their culture may be lost forever. It is increasingly important to preserve this ancient culture. Jamtan.Com will explore the history, traditions and many aspects of Fulani culture to promote a better understanding of the Fulani people.

ARE THE FULANI REALLY TO BLAME FOR THIS VIOLENCE? OR ARE THEY JUST A CONVENIENT SCAPEGOAT?

HOW DID THE FULANI GET IN AND OUT OF JOS SO QUICKLY? WITH THEIR HUMVEES?

4. a month ago: Nigeria: dry season forces Fulani to migrate

The prevailing dry season has forced Fulani herdsmen who are currently moving down south of the country with their herds, searching for greener grazing fields.

Nasarawa State , a major route, is currently witnessing groups of herders moving through to the greener fields of Southern Nigeria . The movement began earlier in the year, but it has heightened in the last two weeks, with unending herds of cattle trudging with luggage of their owners on the backs. A major part of the luggage, according to further observation, is the mat with which the cow boys use in sleeping in the open.

The movement is observed mostly around communities lying along the Jos-Akwanga-Lafia-Makurdi Road which links Nasarawa with Kaduna and Benue States .

Our correspondent observed that the Fulani cow boys move alongside their women who are seeing with large calabashes or other containers with boiled milk called Nono, selling as they move along.

One of them who stopped to speak to Daily Trust along Lafi-Makurdi Road said moving down south at this time of the year is a yearly practice, explaining that “so that our cattle can graze upon fresh fields.” He said up north, the fields are dry by this time, forcing them into the migration to Southern Nigeria .

A grazing route that will run through four neighbouring states - Nasarawa, Plateau, Benue and Ebonyi is on the way for Fulani herders as part of federal government’s efforts to tackle the incessant conflicts between the herders and farmers.

5. February 17th: Fulani herdsman “reported” and “suspected” of violence. the Fulani have some cows go missing, and they now want to retaliate against the people they believe took their cows.

6. February 12th: menace of Fulani herdsmen is a worry in Upper West — THIS IS LINKED BACK TO CLIMATE AS THE FARMERS AND THE FULANI BOTH STRIVE TO SURVIVE WITH A WATER SHORTAGE. THE DESTRUCTION IS BLAMED ON THE FULANI, BUT ARE THE FULANI MESSING WITH THE WEATHER? OR IS THAT SOMEONE ELSE?

Gwollu (U/W), Feb. 12, GNA - In the Upper West Region there is no community, village or settlement where people are not campaigning for the expulsion of Fulani herdsmen and their cattle from the Region.

Women and children are worried because they are leading a “Mickey Mouse” freedom class of life.  Their social and economic activities have been curtailed. None of them can go to the bush to fetch vegetables, pick sheanuts, baobab fruits or dawadawa fruits for home consumption. The small boys can not also go for rats and other fruits that are of nutritional value to them.

Farmers are crying loud, they can no longer leave their foodstuffs in the farms.  Their yams, cassava and millet that are left on their farm huts are broken into by herdsmen for their cattle to feed on. Yam and cassava mounds are destroyed and those who sow their yam seedlings get them eaten up by the cattle.

Water sources are drying up. Economic trees such as the shea have their branches slashed and the leaves used as fodder. All ant hills in the bush are eaten up by these cattle.  The Fulanis add salt to water and pour it on the ant hills for the cattle to eat. Hunting has come to a halt in many of the communities in the Region.

Rape and defilement are high, threat to kill and killing farmers is equally high in the communities. Indeed the people have now become social and economic refugees on their own land, all in the good name of the Ghanaian hospitality and the Great ECOWAS Conventions.

In some of the communities one does not need to go to another community by following the old roads. There are now many paths created by these cattle leading to all communities in the Sissala West, Sissala East and Wa East Districts.  The environment is completely destroyed and farmers now have to travel long distances this time round to their farms.

Madam Florence Zaato, Vice Chairperson of the Sissala Union, expressed worry about the huge environmental degradation caused by Fulani herdsmen and their cattle to the land at the annual general meeting of the union at Tumu recently.

She urged District Assemblies and Traditional Authorities to collaborate and get them out of the area to save the land for their children. She expressed unhappiness about their involvement in rape and armed robbery.

The South Sissala Tertiary Youth Association also appealed to the Chiefs of the South Sissala area and the Wa East District Assembly to expel all Fulani herdsmen from the area for degrading the land and making it unproductive.

Mr Timothy Nbenaba, President of the Association, explained that the decision to call for the expulsion of the Fulani herdsmen is to avert any future clash between the farmers in the area and the herdsmen that may consequently lead to loss of lives.

He said last year there were clashes leading to the payment of compensation by the herdsmen as a result of losses incurred by the farmers through the invasion of their farms by the herdsmen and their cattle.

At Gwollu the District Chief Executive of Sissala West, Mr Robert B. Wavei appealed to the youth to compel their chiefs and all those who had settled Fulani herdsmen and their cattle in the communities to let the herdsmen go.

He said it is disheartening for some chiefs to accept cattle from the herdsmen and to keep them in their communities and slaughter the animals to entertain their visitors.

A prominent farmer, who wants to remain anonymous, said the North would soon become a desert if the Fulani herdsmen and their cattle are not expelled.

He asked the Government to be bold to say no to the Fulani herdsmen to save the people from virtual bondage.

“After all, the Fulani herdsmen have somewhere to go but our people have nowhere to go when the land is destroyed,” he said.

He said the District Assemblies should not use revenue mobilisation as an excuse to harbour the herdsmen and close their eyes to the huge destruction that they are causing to the environment.

“The land belongs to the people and they must not be made to feel as slaves on their on land,” he said.

7. In the Philippines: El Nino drying up farms

MANILA, Philippines—Intense heat is drying up farmlands, reservoirs and waterways all over the country, and farmers are scrambling to find ways to cope and survive.

The abnormal signs of El Niño, a weather phenomenon referring to the warmer-than-normal sea-surface temperature in the Pacific Ocean that results in drought in Asia and Australia, and wet winters in the United States, are exacting their toll in the Philippines, according to agriculture officials.

With the lack of rainfall and irrigation

water, Filipino farmers are keeping a closer watch over their fields so that whatever available water is used wisely.

Huge clumps of light-brown soil have appeared in the corn fields of Cagayan Valley and Pangasinan, while rice paddies have turned barren in Isabela, Bulacan, Pangasinan, Ilocos Norte, Camarines Sur, Negros, Davao del Sur and other provinces.

The desert-like images have prompted some farmers to stop planting to cut losses.

co-dependent relationships

Aangirfan reported the other day on Venable’s childhood.

Among the points made, he had a troubled home life and was afraid of his mother:

  • Jon’s father Neil separated from his wife Susan when Jon was four. After his parents separated Jon began to have problems at school.
  • Jon’s mother Susan Venables has been described as a loose woman whose neighbours “noted a procession of men friends for Mrs Venables”.
  • Reportedly, Susan was prone to hysterics. “She came from a ’strict and disciplined’ background, and had been observed physically and verbally assaulting Jon.” Jon had a terror of being rejected by his mother. Jon was afraid of his mother.

He behaved strangely at school:

  • Back in 1991, when Jon was eight, his teacher reported that the quiet, timid boy would “rock back and forth in his chair, holding onto his desk, moaning and making odd noises.”
  • “He banged his head on the furniture… cut himself with scissors… tore down the displays and artwork of other students…”He approached another classmate from behind and began choking the boy with a wooden ruler…
  • “No one thought of Jon as a ‘bad’ kid … some teachers thought of him as a sweet child, and felt sympathy for him. They thought he was pleading for help.”

He was an easy target for other children:

  • Jon had a squint in his eye and other kids mocked him.
  • “Jon was an easy target for the other kids, and they teased him mercilessly, because he was so easily worked up by their provocations…
  • Jon met Robert Thompson, a manipulative kid who reportedly had psychopathic tendencies. The two became bullies.

Today, not much has changed. According to sources, Jon Venables is still a terrified, out of control, easily worked-up stress-bag.

News of the World reports:

…Venables was last night said to be “tearful, cowed and terrified” by life on an isolation wing at a high security prison in the south of England. A prison source told us: “Venables is in a mess. He has never been in an adult prison and is extremely anxious. “He is being given sedatives to calm him down and has been prone to angry outbursts and tears of despair.”

…He was discreetly rushed to a jail we can’t identify under an assumed name and false charges. He was immediately put into solitary confinement in his own cell with CCTV for 23 hours a day and put on suicide watch. The cell had only a bed and a TV to watch his favourite soaps Coronation Street and EastEnders. With no chance of going to the dining hall meals were delivered to his cell. Venables’ day began at 7am when he was woken and handed breakfast of boiled eggs and toast. Main meals were mostly pizza and chips, chicken with rice and sugary cakes for dessert. Then he was escorted to the shower block by a guard only after the other inmates had started work at 8am. In afternoons, he was taken on his own to the exercise yard for an hour, walking and chain smoking using a lighter borrowed from a guard.

…He was whisked to a new jail and booked in under the name of a genuine prisoner whose file said he had been charged with rape. After psychological tests he is now off suicide watch and been given more freedom to mix with other inmates. He is not allowed posters on his white cell walls but has a picture of a sexy lingerie model pinned to a notice board.

Jon Venables seems incapable of dealing with the consequences of his behavior. Is he in a bad relationship…. with the UK government? Does the UK government enable Jon Venables?

In a negative sense, enabling is also used in the context of problematic behavior, to signify dysfunctional approaches that are intended to help but in fact may perpetuate a problem. A common theme of enabling in this latter sense is that third parties take responsibility, blame, or make accommodations for a person’s harmful conduct (often with the best of intentions, or from fear or insecurity which inhibits action). The practical effect is that the person themselves does not have to do so, and is shielded from awareness of the harm it may do, and the need or pressure to change. It is a major environmental cause of addiction.

It would seem, that as Venables watches his soap operas and has his sugary cakes delivered to him in prison, and has the guards bring him to shower after all the other prisoners go to work (I guess his is exempted from work), while under the relaxing effect of tranquilizers, or chain smoking or looking at his smutty picture of a lingerie model, he remains “tearful, cowed and terrified” of what might happen to him should his personal security bubble get penetrated. Not that I am totally unsympathetic, because to be honest he is the product of totally inept parenting and guardianship for his entire life. Take it from where it comes.

^^^^^^^

And the UK government continues to enable their twisted progeny, Jon Venables, to hide from public scrutiny. The authorities were supposed to know what he has been up to. He has been the responsibility of the authorities for many years. Either they did not know what he was doing — hard to believe — leaving them open to charges of negligence and incompetence, or they did know — not hard to believe — leaving them open to charges of complicity.

What is the lesser scandal? The negligence and incompetence, or as they call it here, a “supervision scandal.”

Venables drew this picture weeks BEFORE murdering James Bulger.
Is it a picture of Ritual Abuse? What kind of costume is that figure wearing?
What had he been exposed to?

The Government’s handling of Jon Venables’ reimprisonment descended into farce today as Jack Straw yet again rejected pleas to reveal why he is back behind bars. His refusal to break his silence on the case of the James Bulger killer came despite it emerging the murderer is facing trial over alleged possession of child porn. Despite continued pleas by the distraught family of the murdered toddler, the Justice Secretary told MPs he could not say more in the ‘interests of justice’.

…Critics believe the cover-up has been ordered to prevent any further embarrassment for ministers over the Home Office’s supervision of one of Britain’s most notorious killers.

But despite ministers’ refusal to come clean:

  • On Thursday it was revealed he has had drink and drugs problems since his release from a secure unit in 2001.
  • On Saturday he was accused of a serious sex offence and it was revealed he had previously worked as a nightclub bouncer.
  • Yesterday it was claimed he had been caught with child pornography and had even disclosed his real identity to strangers.

Probation officers and police are trying to establish what contact he has had with children since his release from a secure unit in 2001 and how Venables came to be in possession of the appalling images.

Their worst fears are he could be part of an internet paedophile ring which traded sick images of children ‘to order’.

…But there are already fears that because of sensitivities around the case, any trial could be subjected to unprecedented reporting restrictions, meaning the public may never know precisely what happened and whether the authorities could have monitored him more closely.

The terms of his parole imposed strict conditions on his contact with youngsters but there are fears that Venables may have deceived his probation handlers. If that is the case, it would constitute a major supervision scandal which could engulf those who supported his release from custody nine years ago and the Home Office unit which had responsibility for over-seeing his ‘rehabilitation’.

To make matters worse for the authorities, Venables keeps talking.

Sources said Venables was ‘psychologically stressed’ before he was recalled to prison, to such an extent that he began revealing his true name to people. It was claimed that he descended into a ‘persistent state of self-disclosure’ in which he felt compelled to tell others that he was one of Britain’s most notorious murderers.

Ian Cumming, a consultant forensic psychiatrist who has worked with serious offenders in the prison system, said ‘the national demonisation of an individual was a heavy burden’ that could explain why someone would find it difficult to keep their past hidden for ever. ‘Double lives are a burden for people,’ Mr Cumming said. ‘Just juggling two relationships is stressful and the secrecy takes its toll. People are not necessarily well equipped to do this sort of thing; it’s not their natural state.’

He looks, for all the world, like an accident waiting to happen.

spring festival time

Henry Makow has written about the Sabbateans. The Sabbateans pre-date the Freemasons and exist to this day.

“Either convert to Islam or die.”  This was the choice the Turkish Sultan put to Sabbatai Zevi,  self-proclaimed Jewish “Messiah” in 1666.

By only pretending to convert, Zevi  resorted to a common practice. But Zevi was not an ordinary Jew. He led a popular heresy, based on a satanic strain of Cabalism. The rabbis had denounced him and his followers.

After his “conversion,” over a million followers, who later included financiers like the Rothschilds, imitated his example. But they didn’t just pretend to be Muslims or Christians. They pretended to be Jews as well.
Communist defector Bella Dodd revealed that during the 1930’s the Communist Party had 1100 members join the Catholic Priesthood. They became Bishops, Cardinals and possibly Popes.

By adopting this chameleon strategy, this satanic cult infiltrated and subverted most governments and religions, and established an invisible tyranny without drawing much attention.

The Sabbateans encourage licentiousness for all, but they remain self-contained within their own sect. Religion is ultimately meaningless to them, although they use it to manipulate others.

According to Rabbi Marvin Antelman, they believe sin is holy and should be practised for its own sake. Since the Messiah will come when people either become righteous or totally corrupt, the Sabbateans opted for debauchery: “Since we cannot all be saints, let us all be sinners.”

…We are told ”free sex” is “progressive and modern.” In fact, the Sabbatean sect has indulged in wife sharing, sex orgies, adultery and incest for more than 350 years. They also promoted interracial sex. They have partly inducted us into their cult.

…Sabbateans only marry within their demonic sect. They often marry rich, influential Gentiles. Thus, the Fourth Baron Rothschild (Jacob’s) mother was not Jewish nor is his wife.

Many Sabbateans live in Istanbul, Turkey.

[1999] Everyone in Istanbul, so it seems, knows about the Sabbateans, or, as they are known here, the Doenmeh (”converts” or “apostates” in Turkish; the Sabbateans themselves dislike this title, and seldom use it.) They are perhaps Turkey’s best-known secret.

No Sabbatean, with the exception of Ilgaz Zorlu himself, will ever publicly admit to being one, and they are rarely talked about.

Even the Sabbateans themselves learn their real identities only when they turn 18, when the secret is finally revealed to them by their parents. This tradition of zealously maintaining a double identity in Muslim society has been passed on for generations.

Jews and other minorities can advance only so far in Turkish society; because they keep their identity secret, Sabbateans, on the other hand, can and do enjoy high positions in almost every field. The Sabbatean cemetery, which is ostensibly Muslim, offers ample evidence: The tomb of a Supreme Court judge lies next to that of an ex-leader of the Communist party, and near them stand the graves of a general and a famous educator. Zorlu freely adds more big names to the list of prominent Sabbateans, including Foreign Minister Ismail Cem, who, claims Zorlu, used to have a Sabbatean surname (Cem has denied being a Sabbatean). Zorlu also claims that former prime minister Tanso Ciler is a Sabbatean, as is the wife of the current prime minister, Bulent Ecevit.

^^^^^^^

According to this source, Sephardic Jews who were expelled from the Iberian peninsula and developed an underground culture, merged with the Sabbateans in Turkey, and they developed a spring festival.

Born and educated in Istanbul, I became aware early about a mysterious people who appeared to be Turks with Jewish affinities. Their elders spoke Spanish at home and sometimes exchanged a few words in this language with my parents. I heard rumors that the approach of Jewish holy days made these “other Turks” tense and they were secretly celebrating them with their own customs. Besides these sporadic manifestations, they never talked about their Jewish ties, and mutual discretion made the subject a taboo.

…In fact, the Sabbatean community which flourished in Salonica is the only heretical sect in the history of crypto-Jewry with so well-established precepts and institutions. The Ma’minim—believers in Hebrew—they called themselves were voluntary converts, a mass phenomenon without a precedent in Jewish history. They were considered as Muslims publicly; Ten Commandments were replaced with a new religious order based on eighteen precepts, las Incomendensas, as they called it in Judeo-Spanish.

The definition of adultery in las Incomendensas, suggesting prudence rather than a prohibition, is ambiguous. It is in this context that a peculiar feast, the Sabbatean Spring Festival, was incorporated into the Sabbatean liturgy. Based on its origins and its mode of celebration, this feast, usually known as the Lamb Festival, remains the most puzzling and eccentric holiday of Sabbatean lore.

The feast begins at midnight between the 21st and the 22nd’ day of the month of Adar, at the supposed occurrence of the spring equinox. According to the Sabbatean tradition, the spring equinox represents the beginning of the New Year and the creation of the world. Only married couples were permitted to participate in the ceremony, where the meat of the lamb was eaten for the first time in the year. It was required that at least two married couples or a paired number of married couples participate in the ceremony. Women wore jewels and their best clothes and served at the banquet. At a certain moment, lights were extinguished and the couples would make love after exchanging partners.

21-22 Adar corresponds to March 7-8, 2010. Last night.

The scholarly paper goes on to describe the meaning of various symbols including water, blood, seasons, etc.

There is no doubt that the renewal of nature represented by the Sabbatean Spring Festival also implied themes associated with the creation of man and the world, as well as the reappearance of the Messiah, according to one belief, as the original Adam. The extinguishing of lights and the concomitant sexual orgy is a simulacrum of the darkness, the eschatological, messianic and creational chaos and the free expression of instinctual needs followed by rebirth, as conceived in mystical philosophies.

According to rumors, during the secret rites observed by Alevi populations in Turkey, which are accompanied by music and drinking, the candles would go out at a certain point and the entire ceremony would turn into an orgy. This festivity is popularly known in Turkish as mum sonde alemi, meaning “festivity of extinguishing candles.” Rumors about this custom spread in Turkey and are even extant today.

What do they want, or perhaps, who do they want to destroy? It depends who you ask. But it’s never good.

Destroy Israel?

Destroy America?

Destroy Turkey?

Currently there’s a debate about the Armenian Genocide, and who is responsible for that. Turkey does not want to take responsibility for the Armenian Genocide.

Huge topic.
